Linda McMahon: So being co-CEO of a wrastling federation qualifies you for Secretary of Education

What are the qualifications?

Merrick Garland and Eric Holder were no doubt qualified on paper to you, but turned out to be horrible.

Same for Austin in DoD, and especially Blinken in State.

And how about the disgraceful hack in Homeland Security - and all the damage he has caused.
How about more than two years actually practicing law?

If you tried to type a post without deflecting your fingers would fall off.

Great loss

100% agree, great post

Braden could improve quickly with three minor steps. He's done at least one of these before in a single season, so he can do it again:

1) No more jump passes (I have been harping on this since his frosh year - Paint broke him of this habit last year, but it's back. Brought me flash backs of his Northwestern game.
2) No more one-handed or lazy passes - commentators pointed this out multiple times, and they were 100% correct.
3) No more chirping at the refs - it sets a bad tone and is a bad look. Fletch needs to stop as well, they both need to set an example for the underclassmen. This one really grates on me.
He plays with a chip on his shoulder and seems to also chirp with the opponent. I have no problem with that if it helps him play better. But, what happened at times against Marquette was him simply playing way out of control and right into the way Marquette probably wanted him to play. I often wonder of the opponent can sometimes get into his head and cause him to force too much. IDK. Just speculation.

Unfortunately, he also needs to learn ( and I think he is based on facial expressions) that he can't trust Berg or Furst to finish around the rim when he hits them with a very nice feed. Berg is just too slow and unathletic. Furst can take an open layup / flush and give the D enough time to block the shot. We despirately need Furst to figure out how to beat the defense to the rim.

I disagree.

So, what about Gaetz for AG? Is he qualified?

Great loss

P

No team is in a place, even UConn, Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, to go "man that 20 point loss was a great loss." Numbers matter, especially in the world of the NET.

Big wins over bad/good teams= good
Any win over a good team= good
Close wins over bad teams= bad
Big losses to any team= bad
It's called "GROWTH". You learn from the losses, and no one cares by how much. I've never heard a coach say " Well, we lost by 20 points".
Ask Hurley/UConn if they were worried about a loss by 19 to Creighton right before the tournament or a 15 point loss to Seton Hall. Do you understand even the best teams fall to lesser talented teams....its just happens.

Do you think Woody/IU cared about the point difference in the 20 point loss to UConn at home last year!? No, it's a learning experience and work on what went wrong vs. any point spread.

I know you are typical down south fan, but at least have some smarts about basketball.

Great loss

We are a long way from competing with these guards , UCon showed us this last year.
Yep, and it's frustrating that 2 of our most athletic perimeter players ( Colvin / Heide ) aren't capable of taking a game over for us in that spot. I can understand Cox and Harris struggling, but Colvin is a headscratcher to me. Is he basically just a 3 point shooter who can throw down electrifying dunks when he has an open path to the rim?

What do you republicans and Flavor Aiders have against the Dept. of Education? Tired of black folks getting Pell Grants?
Do Pell grants fall under the jurisdiction of the DoE?
What exactly is the mission of the DoE and what examples can be provided to demonstrate success?

Here's an example, albeit at the state level: Chicago public schools is near the top of the list in per-student spending, yet they have terrible graduation rates and reading/math scores. That's a failure of the system.

Joey Galloway

Saban and (I think) Rece Davis said on Game Day Nov 16th that with IU's 100th -rated schedule strength, if they get their clocks cleaned by OSU then they would not be worthy of an at-large 12 berth. No argument here!

That's ESPN's SoS metric which is rooted in preseason rankings and their very heavy SEC bias to promote their SEC business partner.

Indiana's Sagarin SoS is very comparable to Notre Dame and the other teams that people shout about not playing anybody like Texas, Penn St., and Miami.

It hurts Indiana the most that we ripped out Nebraska's soul and they are winless since, after starting out 5-1.

To be completely honest, I don't know enough about Gaetz. I know he's a controversial pick and there's a lot of questions circling around him but I haven't sat down and really learned both sides of the story. So unfortunately, I can't give an educated response.

Liberals now telling truth about inflation

Dems are pretty dumb overall. Hopefully they double down on the identity politics, making everything about race, gender and far left radical policies while completely ignoring what really matters to the American people, like crime, jobs, etc. In fact,

I'll be sending emails to all of the Squad members asking them to stand by their ideals and principles, to not give in to their fellow Dems who want to become "Republican light", and to continue pushing the progressive ideas that will get America to what we all believe it can be.

Zach Edey for THREE!

Just an update for folks who may be interested. Zach Edey has been out the last couple of games with an ankle sprain from a game last week with Denver.

Predictably, Mr. Green is trying to parlay it.....what a maroon.....

From an excerpt via si.com:

"Edey has not played for the Grizzlies since November 17 against the Denver Nuggets, where he put up 7 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks in only 14 minutes. It would have been fascinating to see how he handles a center like Embiid, but the matchup will unfortunately have to wait.

This week, Edey was caught catching strays from Draymond Green calling him soft. Green specifically cited that Embiid would play extra physical against Edey.

"He's big enough to possibly have fooled people that he could be a little tough, and now nobody believe you," Green said. "Now Joel Embiid gonna like try to put his chest into the stanchion just to see... Ya'll gotta stop breeding these soft dudes man. Stop making these guys turn out to be snitches and soft and going to tell, because you are a big man!"

Yup. Indiana got whooped in some games. Indiana got whooped by Kansas and there were clearly problem afterwards and they finally found some footing after figuring out their problems from getting blasted(that team ended up whooping up on Purdue twice remember). Last year got whooped by UConn and they never figured it out. But last year's team didn't have it figured out from the very beginning anyways because they were good. Kel'el Ware was good, but it takes more than one.
That team “whooped on” Purdue? Seriously? lol. And remind me what that IU team accomplished? They didn’t win any sort of championship and got blown out the last game of their season (this has been a trend for Woodson — 30+ by st Mary’s, 15+ by Miami and almost 30+ by Nebraska, which was a 3rd loss to them that year).

I guess IU’s biggest accomplishments are beating purdue and just making the tourney?

Gowdy would have been a 1000 times better pick than the statutory rapist. The Flavor Aiders get all bent out of shape of folks comparing Chump's style to fascism. However, the pattern of these cabinet picks clearly is an indication of Chump trying to subvert the cabinet departments operating on its own. With these cabinet "yes" men and women, Chump can run an authoritarian type government the best he can. For example, folks in this board have said that Gaetz pick as AG was a good pick to shake up the DOJ. Folks in this board have said the the Dept of Education pick's purpose was to shut down the department.
I hope the federal department of education gets shut down. Anyone have any idea what they do?

Great loss

In any case, Purdue will get a heavy dose this whole year.

agree, BB.....Penn State, Rutgers, Maryland, UCLA, Northwestern, Wisconsin and Indiana among many (might as well just list everybody.....haha). Painter can't say it enough times - embrace it and be ready to deal with it and counter.....and don't lose your poise. It's a mindset that can't waiver if you want to be successful. It will take a little time for the freshman, but that's where the leaders need to help them understand quickly.

Expect conference season to be it's usual war.....

We shall see.
