Zach Edey for THREE!

Zach has not started last few games but has had good production. The headline in the article does not tell the whole picture of his game last night. He played 26 minutes and had 12 and 8. Things did not go well with Huff starting, they got behind by double digits, but got within 1 once Zach got in and in their words dominated. The headline comes from lesson learned on defense, he did foul out as well. He will learn.

Edey looked pretty good last night. This was the first game this year I have been able to watch as I live in Tennessee and the nba has stupid black out rules. What is the deal with blacking out the fans who want to watch? I’m nowhere near Memphis so it makes zero sense to me.

Edey did a good job against Davis and actually looked really good when he got switched off in Lebron. We sure could use him this year but I’m happy to see him do so well in his dream job.

I grew up in Lafayette and never got to watch the Indy 500 until i moved to the West Coast after college because of blackouts. I ended up never going to the Indy 500, I never watched it. Instead, I went to Churchill Downs in Louisville 13 times for the Kentucky Derby. I agree blackouts are bad for marketing and will lose the opportunity to win over fans. I could have been an Indy or NASCAR fan, but I couldn't tell you the name of any driver who has won in the last 10 years.

After Friday night’s game he’s now 6-9. Two more tonight. Finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
He and draymont went to the floor in the same pile twice tonight.
Quote of the night by the announcers
“There’s big, and then there’s Zach Edey”

Zach got helped off to the locker room today. I didn't see the play but the way he was going off looked like left ankle. Had 7 and 7 through 14 minutes too.

Just an update for folks who may be interested. Zach Edey has been out the last couple of games with an ankle sprain from a game last week with Denver.

Predictably, Mr. Green is trying to parlay it.....what a maroon.....

From an excerpt via si.com:

"Edey has not played for the Grizzlies since November 17 against the Denver Nuggets, where he put up 7 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks in only 14 minutes. It would have been fascinating to see how he handles a center like Embiid, but the matchup will unfortunately have to wait.

This week, Edey was caught catching strays from Draymond Green calling him soft. Green specifically cited that Embiid would play extra physical against Edey.

"He's big enough to possibly have fooled people that he could be a little tough, and now nobody believe you," Green said. "Now Joel Embiid gonna like try to put his chest into the stanchion just to see... Ya'll gotta stop breeding these soft dudes man. Stop making these guys turn out to be snitches and soft and going to tell, because you are a big man!"
