I would probably say pretty similar to what you see here. General apathy and understanding that Purdue isn't in a great place with its athletic teams on an overall basis but needing to continue donating when and where they can to help move things forward. As much as people want to 'hurt Burke where it counts' by quitting to donate or to stop their long time season tickets, it does no good on an overall basis. I get that it is the one card that an individual has over the AD, but unless you are donating massive sums of money, the BTN money has sort of lessened the effect that can have.I guess my question is centered around the consensus of the JPC membership. What is the average "pulse" of the members?
Agreed- if a 2/3 empty stadium doesn't embarrass them, nothing will.I would probably say pretty similar to what you see here. I thought the same thing last night watching the baseball games in Oakland and Tampa. I figure they could tarp off the upper half of the North end zone to start. The only con is it may force some people who go to the games but absolutely refuse to pay that "prime seats" fee to have to pay more. Forcing people inside the 10 yard lines.Agreed- if a 2/3 empty stadium doesn't embarrass them, nothing will.
They really should look into tarping off the large sections of empty bleachers this year, it will look awful on TV. If they care about that sort of thing.

With my Purdue giving, I still give to JPC. It is hard pill to swallow but I get 1/2 of it back on my tax return. I did stop giving to the University itself when the new president took over; I admit it was a total political thing, but it was just too hard for me to support a place that put a man in charge whose policies I had just fought and disagreed with for the previous 8 years. It is the same thing to give to the JPC but feels different to me. I know it makes absolutely no sense. I can afford to up my level but choose not to. I would be much more generous if I felt my donation was being better utilized.
Ticket wise it became such a bad investment to have 4- I cut it to two. Now when I can go I only eat $90 a game instead of $180. Can't give these things away.
In my field up here it was the same, but I am not making it a political rant. It was a curious choice when it was announced. Kids/parents like him because of the tuition freezes so I guess he is doing a good job if people like him. Not sure about the staff. Beering was a favorite but I am biased.Well, if it makes you feel any better, remember that the Athletic Department likes to claim they survive totally free of any money from the the academic side of the university. So by donating to JPC, you aren't actually donating to anything Mitch can actually get his hands on. You could state that your money needs to go directly to a certain aspect of the Athletic Department. I agree that the University hiring Mitch Daniels was a complete joke and a thrown job to a man who likely wouldn't have had much after his governorship was over. A man who tried to destroy public schools and paved the way for our idiot governor in office now, was clearly a bone thrown to Mitch.
You are precisely correct and the get a life b.s. crowd, often referred to as the Purdue mentality, are the all too tolerant of absolute mediocrity that sustains the pathetic results that define Purdue sports to fandom.
Burke and the Purdue hierarchy have built and maintained the culture of accepting losing and average performance as being normal for Purdue athletics.
IF not and it's more of the same, i'm not going to lose any sleep over it.
