Matt Painter isn't selling "I will get you into the NBA" to his recruits. The closest he's going to get is "I will develop you, and it's up to you how far you can take it."

I agree with your statement above. For better or worse, Purdue typically doesn't recruit the kids who come in with the top priority of finding the quickest path to the NBA. MP has proven that he'll let kids with elite talent play through mistakes (CE, JI, Biggie and even freshman ZE to some extent), but I agree that his recruiting centers on the opportunity to develop.
