McNeese State v. Purdue Game Thread

Initial observations (still a few minutes left):

1. Biggie could be an AA. Not just based on this game against a bad team, but he just has the tools and looks really improved
2. We really need Taylor to be prepared to spell Biggie and Haas when the competition increases.
3. I'm still worried about guard play, and particularly their ability to create their own shots and good looks for our bigs, although Edwards could certainly help change that

Very nice start by pounding a bad team and getting the players ready to go. Nice warm up game for Monday, which should be very interesting. Boiler Up!

The competition is going to increase way before Taylor is ready to help us. I think we need to tamper our expectations for Taylor this year. A mid year transfer may be our best bet.

Yeah.....very tough test on Monday.....depth's gonna be an issue.

Nickname for Carsen, Big Ten Freshman of the Year and the Blur! I was very impressed with the whole team tonight. We looked in mid-season form and I saw a major uptick in player development out of just about everyone on the floor! I think the trip to Spain helped and will pay huge dividends for us in our non-conference slate! Looking forward to Monday night! Boiler Up!

Has anyone looked at stats for years after we made overseas trips .... I think I heard a few years ago that it had a noticeable impact on that season.

He had one coming in. C Boogie. Boogie and Biggie have a chemistry. It's too bad Biggie won't stay for all four years. I can't see him being denied a Final Four and a chance at the ship if he had four years at this level.
If Biggie plays like he did last night all season long, then he most certainly is gone and he should go. But, I also hope that means a good deep run comes out of it for Purdue. The pieces are certainly there and I think it will take the season to fine tune them as it were, but they are there.

And let's not forget PJ or Spike either. They did some very good things last night as well.
