With all the news this morning the ACC looks to remain in tact through 2036. Maybe someone will sneak out just before then with buying out but looks like ND will play some more marquee games and they will pay some of the bigger brands more money. Other schools has to agree to take less to convince espn to extend through 2036. This kills any talk of ND coming and likely takes pressure off B12.

The schools I was most interested in were FSU and Miami. They were the two schools looking for loopholes.

Maybe the NCAA could force ND to be part of a conference to play in any future playoff / tournament

Miami has not been looking for loopholes it was clemson.

Why would the ncaa force them to be part of a conference? They are stuck in the GOR with acc. And they are at a disadvantage they can’t get a bye and the ncaa has to love the fact they hosted an extra game instead of getting the bye. No one is hurting by having ND as halfway into ACC and halfway out. And no one is beating down their door trying to get them to join except acc which would be insane. They will be independent until it is a significantly better situation financially for them to switch and nbc keeps throwing money at them to keep them happy. So it will take both the acc exiting early (2031 at earliest) plus a conference will have to give full tv rights plus ND will need to get squeezed by sec and B1G for scheduling and nbc will balk at paying $50m for mac, service teams, and acc/b12leftovers.
