Tracy Abrams showing exactly how to attack Michigan right now. Off the dribble. Need Carsen and Vince to be looking for opportunities tomorrow.

Unfortunately for Illinois, he's the only Illini in double figures. Going to be an interesting chess match tomorrow, but I agree that the Boilers need to attack UM on offense at times......make them work on that end also.....and try to keep them guessing on the offensive end at times. I expect Walton will push just like today.....he's going to be a key to keep under containment along with Wagner/Wilson. I like the Boilers being on a neutral court, but I could see this going either way, frankly.
should be an interesting game. I don't think either team matches up well with the other defensively. Purdue is going to struggle to contain Michigan's high ball screen offense and will have to pick their poison and hope Michigan misses the good shots they get. Conversely Michigan will once again struggle against Haas and Swanigan in the paint and will have to try to fight hard to prevent them from getting catches deep.
Probably be fun to watch and I suspect both teams are capable of playing to the second weekend of the NCAAs. I'm kinda hoping Michigan can find a way to get off the 8/9 seed line, but even if they get stuck there they'll have a fighting chance.
I think Michigan hits a few less shots than they hit in Ann Arbor. We convert a few more of the shots in the paint that we missed. We get a few more calls. Should win if we play well.
One thing about our game @ Michigan - we only had 8 free throw attempts. We need to attack the basket smartly and draw fouls. That being said, easier said than done - they don't typically give up a lot of FT attempts.
History proves that many teams who win championships struggle with their first game. Many teams who lose early games are much better than the team they play. Teams which could have, or should have, won championships lose to teams they shouldn't lose to. Your comment about "if we can't beat them ..." Has no relationship to the reality of our ability to beat (or not beat) other teams later in the tourney.I don't care who we play.....PERIOD! If we play to our capabilities we should have no problem beating either team! Those concerned about Mich, well if we can't beat them, then who the hell are we gonna beat in the tourney.......
I was at the game and was sitting about 6 rows away from the action on one end of the court. Felt like Michigan was the aggressor thanks to their quick start and they got the benefit of the homecourt whistles because of that. I'd be surprised if we didn't see a few more calls tomorrow.
At least Purdue knows how good of a team Michigan is and should be motivated. No way they should overlook them. Let the fun begin.
Guess I was wrong. I was thinking Illinois was a dark horse. They had been playing somewhat better. Should have known better ha ha. Michigan will be a tough game tomorrow.I agree with your statement, but I am so confused as to how you thought Illinois looked tougher on paper? Not many teams in the country have been playing as good as Michigan down the stretch, and they have given 6 teams (including MSU, Purdue and SMU) their worst loss of the season.

you are correct. No way should they have lost that game. Very bad lost.I would have agreed with you until Illinois lost to Rutgers....while being talked about on the bubble for the tournament. How you can lose that type of game in a situation you are surging and being talked about as possibly making the tournament....yikes.
