Commitment and what it would mean now

Ok. I see you have no interest in discussion
The issue is this…when we did discuss we were called every name in the book including racist for not liking the job the coach was doing. None of us mentioned Hazzel. None of us mentioned DEI. We just saw the same crap last year as we did this year.

We were pro Purdue because we wanted better for the team. The flaws were there all along…people just chose to ignore them.

Hard to support a guy who’s doing NOTHING right and wasting years of my favorite teams time and resources!

I didn't call names. Shame people did. I just disagreed. Now that I've seen them play this year, I agree more on the coaching. I didn't prior to the season and stated why I believed that.

You never mentioned Hazel? Since when?

Moussa has been a 3 year starter. Those guys are supposed to develop…not be the best they ever have been as a freshman…but I’m sure that’s Brohms fault!

I think Katlaftis is an undersized DE and not a LB. He’s just a tweener. Another guy the staff is asking to do too much in a bad system.

It’s like you shitting on Cam Allen last year. Guy had been crazy productive for us and then this crazy system comes along and asks him to do something he can’t and shouldn’t. That’s not really his fault. He’d have never come to Purdue to play in this defense. He stuck it out because he loved Purdue and now he’s your poster child for failure even though he was a good defender for multiple years for us.

Are you starting to see it now? What good coaches do vs bad? Scheme and use the talent you have? Develop the guys who you do have into better players? The way you worship Purdue coaches you never watched and hate the ones who came here and did well while you (pa)trolled the message board with meaningless PFF stats is truly hilarious. It suggests you have no clue what you are seeing so you need a crutch!

I’ve been right about the past 3 coaches and why they would fail or succeed. My hit rate is great. Yours looks like ours trying to find a good coach! Lacking!
Moussa has never had big ten strength. You know that. Still doesn’t. Lacks the frame. He wasn’t good under brohm and isn’t now. Quick, who are the good brohm OL in 6 years?

They can fire Walters today and I won’t care. You’re literally beating yourself up verbally lol.

As nat stated, when commitable offers went out all there was for Yanni from better programs was Wisconsin … at fullback

I was a cam Allen defender lol. I have a cam Allen T-shirt. I don’t dislike good brohm players.

I’m team Orton. You know I’m always on the right side with this stuff
You’re a bigger fan boy about brohm than any kirsch fan ever was about Brandon. There are dudes who still will tell anyone who will listen that Curtis painter couldn’t beat ranked teams who would tell you to take it easy on brohm…

Two things I’ve never heard from a brohm fan

1) better than young
2) defenses of the bob Diaco hire

Diaco… who couldn’t stop the Rutgers wildcat and was at least as bad as hazell and Harrell

Didn't need a last second interception to beat Indiana state.
Oh sheesh. Going by FCS results now to prop the coach up.

It’s been bad. I couldn’t have even imagined how bad it was.

I think it’s funny you show up after we show a glimmer of hope but we’re MIA as we were getting our faces beaten in when we didn’t need to. Do you disappear for 3-4 more weeks if/when we get manhandled?

I didn't disappear. I was here. You act like I'm advocating for Walters.

There is more. Hazell shows zero care or passion. Didn't try to fix things. Walters is. Once their careers are over, Walters will have been more successful. Hazell tried to bring tressel ball to Purdue lol. Walters is trying to win.

Just because I can admit Walters is trying to do good and shows signs of doing good stuff here and there doesn't mean I like him or think he's good. But I appreciate he's trying

Well how could I ever pick after I’m told every day by you that we have no money and nobody would ever come here?

It’s useless to speculate. I don’t know if they’ll pay $8 or $8million for the next coach. There are plenty of guys who I think could do well here dependent on their staffs and the resources they are given.

What a cop out. Just say who you think would be great with your vast "I KNOW BALL" knowledge or shut the hell up about how much you claim to know. You haven't hestitated to speculate about everything else so why should this be different? You have attempted to sell everyone on your tremendous knowledge so let's see it.

You couldn't have imagined? LOL All you have done is trash the guy so it's not hard to imagine where your thoughts were.

Bobinski can get your bitching for free. That's all you do anyway, nothing constructive. Just as you have done from the start. Thanks Jeff.

I’ve suggested a ton of what this clueless coach could do to fix the Terrible defense. Strange enough, non of it’s been put in place by your husband, Mrs. Walters.

I’ve been plenty constructive…just not as naive as you to think Walters is coming to the board for coaching advice.

You admitted as much. My whole point with Walters is I’m not sure why you guys are so brutal. He had the balls to take a job that double digit guys probably never took the call on.

You know that too g5 guys aren’t taking that call. And so what we will get is a retread or a so so g5 guy.. a guy who wins for a reason other than his system (eg toledo coach having a recruiting advantage relative to other MAC schools) who will have no money. And until they put money behind him OR revenue sharing comes, it’s not going to be great.

It never was once legalized pay for play was fully mobilized

We get it. His defense at Purdue is bad. Small sample size, but he is a great OC.

Purdue does lack the commitment. And so long as they do, fans like pboiler who are looking for a coach to come miracle them some results with no money are going to be on a fools errand

Tell me what coach is going to come here and win 6 games in two years. List as many as you want so that when 14 turn the job down, you will be accountable for your 15th choice. It’s so easy to win at Purdue after all.

And before you start, again, Walters can get fired today for all I care

Jenkins likely cost the same 400k they were set to pay Scourton to stay. According to stuff I read on on3, Scourton left for 825 and at least access to a house and car.

Even with everything that’s gone on, imagine we went into yesterdays game with Scourton retained and the money spent on Jenkins also spent on a corner and MLB who had proven they could play?

Even with as crappy as this staff has been. I’d still be in favor of letting Walters go.

But we’d have won on Saturday rather easily, and like Joe tiller said “I said to Jim on the headset, ‘boys we got ourselves a QB,’ because without that, you might as well be playing tiddlywinks.” So Purdue would have a QB and a much better defense.

What does it mean? That this team was about a 1.5 million dollar commitment away from still having a good shot at 5-7 even with a train wreck of a staff. Commitment matters and will matter when the next coach comes here.

In fact, many good coaches will ask for guarantees on that front before taking the job
I think the rationale for hiring Walters was that he was young and inexper=ienced as a head coach, but he had great potential. If we could surround him with outstanding, seasoned coordinators with a successful track record its was worth the gamble. It is now clearly evident that we did not have and nor do not have competent coordinators with sufficient experience and proven record of success. Norm

The right coach can win 6 next year. Screw waiting 2 years

Ya. Walters will be really good, just unfortunately not at Purdue.

No.. I agree. Bobinski mismanaged this situation. Harrell has shit for a track record. Kane had none. If they spent money on those guys it was money wasted

One game and you can decide he’s a great OC? He did a fine job. Competent. That’s it.

12 games as HC last year and that wasn’t enough for me to give him a fair shot to decide he was a bad HC? That was your argument all summer. Talk about moving the goalposts! Go score as much as Ohio State did on Oregon and we can talk about him being an offensive genius.

This is silly. You constantly move the goalposts to fit your narrative. Once we get drubbed on Friday I’m hoping you disappear for several weeks again.

In the same breath as you wanting him gone you argue that he’s the only guy who would take the job.

That’s just not true.

I truly don’t know who would or wouldn’t take the job. To argue that jobs that only dish out mega money are good opportunities is silly. If you’re a head coach at Toledo…do you think an elite power conference team is going to come calling?

These guys have to cut their teeth somewhere. Most of the job openings this year will be on our level.

It’s a fallacy that it takes $10mil to win 6 games. If that was true there’s only a few teams that would go to a bowl every year.

I didn’t ever say he’s the only guy. I said they went down the list and he was who was interested. We know Bobinski choose him as a risk reward pick. The most reliable name who was more of a sure thing was creighton. Meh. Notice no one else came for him.

I think Purdue could have won 5-6 even with Harrell sucking and Walters not being good if they spent maybe 1.6 more. Keep Scourton and then go get 3 playmakers for Jenkins money. A slot receiver or run grading guard, a MLb and a corner… guys who have shown they can excel at p4 football on a high amount of snaps will cost you Jenkins money
