Purdue v. Maryland Game Thread

Happy with being down only 2. Swannigan not have best game on O. Needs to pass out of the post when its not there. Hopefully the guys will have adjusted to the UA balls by the second half.

All in all.....fairly fortunate to be just down two.....started playing better on the defensive end.....really impatient on offense.....and still too many turnovers.

Work inside out, and CS has to look for the shooters.

VE....hit the weak side boards.

If Vince isn't careful, he will lose his starting spot next year as well. When he is good, he has been good...but when he is bad, he might as well sit on the bench. He makes no impacts anywhere. Today, he is 0-4 from the field and has failed to box out and play solid on the defensive side. Give the minutes to Cline if he won't provide anything.

I'm fearing this may be a remote smashing second half.....going off-line to make preparations.

I unhooked myself from the defibrillator long enough to post at half time.

Are we going to try a different strategy on the high ball screen? I felt like I was watching groundhog day. It was all MD did in their set offense. Hopefully CMP has something else planned for 2nd half.

Started getting better the last 10 minutes, Dry....and Maryland cooled off a little. I expect Trimble will keep working that until Purdue changes it. IH is the only player with two fouls, so that's pretty good. Carsen needs to adjust better on d, but Boilers need him for offense and transition. If VE can have a good second half, I think the Boilers can pull this out.

We either need Maryland to continue bricking their bunny shots or we need 7-10 from 3 in the 2nd half. (too congested underneath) - or both !

We have 15 minutes - then we'll see trimble take over and shoot layups and freethrows the rest of the way.

Still think Purdue is settling for too many one one one plays. Have to make MD work harder on defense.

How is it that Chekowawawaski doesn't have to go straight up and Purdue gets called for it every time?

Carsen Edwards is killing Purdue on defense...frequently he has cost Purdue buckets.

And their bigs are getting away with a ton of body contact on the inside.

Right now it's a simple as Maryland's best, Trimble, is better than Purdue's best, Swanigan, at being able to run the offense through them.

Not a lot of ball movement, passing, or rhythm on offense so far this half. Both Biggie and Carsen are trying to do too much by themselves. Need to get back to team basketball.

not a good trend right now for the Boilers........all the momentum on Marylands side............

This is getting fugly.

Sigh.. hang in there, try to get it under single digits.

So sick of our bigs getting pushed and scratched with zero / inconsistent whistles.

Purdue cannot defend the rim. This is why Haas can't play big minutes. He cannot keep up with the speed of the game and can't match up with 90% of the teams we play. Our guards get beat because they simply aren't athletic enough to stay on the ball and we have nobody to defend inside and block shots.
