Texas A&M Corpus Christi at Purdue: MASTER DISCUSSION THREAD

I

The few honest ones in that dullard toolbox down south respect CMP and the superb Purdue basketball culture he has established.

I will give 'ol Bankie this, however: he knows where to come to troll for validation....
Only trolling a tiny bit lol. I mean I do think he should have left if he wanted to play. But I really don't care much. He is having fun and getting paid.

Worst Purdue Football Coach in your lifetime

You would be referring to the 1972 team, which was coached by DeMoss.
You're right. My apologies. At my age, I've lost too many brain cells. As a Boilermaker fan since the 60's, I can safely state that we have had more poor coaches than good coaches. If we get a good one, they move on or retire.

Caleb Furst Profile

Pretty sure Caleb is a guy you'd like your daughter to marry. Honest, straight shooter, hard working.
I remember a couple of hoopsters in the engineering program too.
Funny you say that. My daughter is 5'10 and in grad school and the other night while watching the game, I mentioned Caleb was Pre-med and my wife was like "Oooh, he'd be perfect for Mya (our daughter)." I had to break it to her that he was engaged to a volleyball player.

Worst Purdue Football Coach in your lifetime

True, but wasn't that a consistent problem of Purdue football throughout the 70s and 80s? A lot of "aces and spaces" rosters with some high-level individual talent but rarely enough to make great teams outside of the Jim Young era.

He had an OSU-type roster handed to him. No holes. Just off the top of my 71 year old brain Dave Butz, Steve Baumgartner, Gary Nrivnak, Gary Danielson, Daryl Stingley, Otis Armstrong, and Gregg Bingham. Coached those NFLers to a 3 - 7 record!

Marquette -4.5

Missing Ighordaro and the PG (Kovak or something?) But their starting 5 of Kam Jones, Stevie Mitchell, Chase Ross, David Joplin, and Ben Gold were all major contributors last year.

They have 4 bench guys; 2 sophomore guards who didn't play/contribute much last year and aren't doing much this year, and 2 freshmen forwards (not sure how they play) but one is 6'9" 250 so I assume is more of a post guy than wing but the other one, Parham, was 2-3 from 3 against Maryland.

They haven't shot well from 3 so far this season, barely over 30% for the year, 253rd in the country. Purdue is 6th in 3pt % at 46% as a team.
Kolek.

Yeah, Mitchell is pretty good from what I remember last year. I don't know, I'm feeling pretty good about this one.

IU fans just don’t understand about our culture in the basketball program. Don’t be too hard on him for his ignorance.

well, if this was four years ago, we all know would happen tonight ... This year, I have far more confidence.

Speculation from Spartanwire.

Dream on Spartans for thinking that you could be the program to bully CRW out of his job. Nine other schools beat you to it!!
