a 4/5 recruit doesn't worry about starting right away. they expect to start when they arrive. what hurts is when the 3 star recruit looks at the game and sees juniors and seniors still making freshmen mistakes, and there is no sign of any development. Yes, recruits love to play for teams that win. however, they also want to play for a team that they feel will develop their own talent.
Rather than saying that player is terrible and i can replace him, don't most recruits watch a player at the position they play and say, that's what i want to do. i want to be like him. isn't that what recruits said when they saw AOc and Blough at Qb or moore at wr? rather than beating him out, didn't they say that's what i want to do when i play here.
if you look at purdue basketball, Haas, edey, and jacobson all came to purdue not because it offered immediate playing time. but rather, they felt painter could develop their talent. They each had other potential options. But chose Painter and purdue.
my point is, don't most recruits pick up offers and make commitments during their visits ? has Purdue received any commitments lately? has purdue even given out an offers lately ?
there is not much a recruit sees when watching purdue football this year. if you were a recruit, do you see the future at purdue actually being any better ? I don't.
