How attractive is the Purdue job right now?

I'm trying to look at this objectively.

The TV revenue should provide for attractive salaries, even with the Walters buyout. On the other hand, can Bobinski line up enough NIL commitment to attract top candidates?

And how will candidates look at B1G membership? On the one hand, Purdue's a part of the wealthiest league in college sports. But, Purdue's also sitting at the very bottom of a tougher, expanded B1G. At first glance next year's schedule looks more manageable. Still, up-and-coming coaches might see more upward mobility in the ACC or BXII.

The fact that Indiana's coming off a historic season could also complicate the search, unless Cignetti does us all a solid and jumps at a bigger gig.
We have committed to the $20M+ revenue sharing and $15m+ is expected to go to football. I don’t think many of the non-P2 conference schools can afford it. There aren’t a lot of openings this year. We are arguably too 2.

The December 5

Not make or break but some tough games coming up over the next 5.

At PSU: always hard on the road and for the opener
Maryland: jury is still out
Texas A&M: “home” game and they are tough/physical team. Another good test.
At Auburn: potential away game against the #1 team in the country
Toledo: not really a slouch team.

I can see us winning 3 or 4 at most. Would be shocked if we win 4 and even more shocked if we went 5-0.

I do hope the young guys (Harris, Cox, Burgess) can get some minutes and put together some consistent scoring. Need them to be ready come B1G season.
Win first two and last one and I'm happy. Split the other two and we are a top 15 ranked team going into the new year 2-0 in conference with only 2 losses.

That's a formula for a team competing for a conference title and a top 3 seed.

Is DJ going to be a guy that is perpetually injured?? Seemed to have a break awfully easily with minimal contact.

Hope the nutrition experts are working with him on diets that not only gain weight strength and muscle, but also most importantly increase bone strength.
I don't think one freak injury means anything. Now, if he has something similar happen again, then it could be an issue.

Brees as General Manager for 1-2 year assignment?

Why would he do that? He lives in San Diego. He’s got all sorts of stuff going on and spending a lot of time with his family.

I think Brian Cardinal could fill that role for basketball as he’s got a presence. The GM role would have to come across as someone charismatic, good culture, and direct/prudent with spending his budget as he will likely be collaborating on $ with the athletes. It would need to be someone willing to live in or commute to west lafaytte daily, someone who is in it for the long haul. Someone like Seth Morales. Maybe mark Herman or Albert Evans. Or Curtis Painter. Whatever happened to Sean Robinson?

The new GM position for Luck at Stanford is very interesting. This could be the emerging model for managing the football business empire.

So with that…hire Drew as GM for a 1-2 year assignment. He could build the foundation of the role much like an NFL GM and then hire his replacement. Surely that has to have some appeal to Drew!

Drew helping the new HC solely on the on field product would be an advantage. Using Drew’s NFL organization knowledge could be great at shaping the Purdue FB business for the future. Especially in this market of escalating coaches and players salaries. Not to mention that Dew’s name would open a lot of donor doors immediately.

Something to consider.

Why? What does he bring? No staff. No players. He had a couple of good seasons sure, but then he got fired for legit reasons.
He's not good enough or enough of a sure thing to do that.

We need a coach that brings in a staff and some players. We are going to lose a ton to the portal and our recruiting class is non-existent. Hopefully, whomever we get brings double digit players over.

Notwithstanding the legal and moral issues, can we really do better though?
Yeah we have a lot of money to spend and not a lot of big job openings this year to compete with. Plus going to P2 conferences limits the playing field. Not to mention the big ten will be spending $22m on players and it’s been speculated the majority will go to football. I’m not even sure if pats lawsuits have been resolved yet.

Biden must have forgotten he pledged not to pardon Hunter

Dementia is a helluva drug

President Joe Biden pardons his son Hunter Biden

So another lie told by Lyin Biden. Democrats will be mum on this too.

That Auburn game is in Birmingham.

Whatever our record is against these teams let’s hope the losses aren’t in the conference games.
