Purdue should talk to him. He may be the best fit for us.

Pat has Head Coach experience in the B10 and was very successful. He set up good offensive and defensive units on both sides of the ball. He is a great recruiter and given that Purdue does not have as strict admission requirements as Northwestern does, he can bring in a lot of B10 caliber talent.

Plus, I think he was railroaded out of NU. (those hazing allegations were not conclusive and he was let go for not knowing all about it)

Thoughts on Pat?

Doesn't he still have some legal things going on though? I ask as I am unsure. I agree on the hazing hazing thing.. sure seems like he was just the fall guy for it all by NW.

And he would actually know how to beat NW.

Nope. The only thing worse than our on field product now are off the field issues. Especially when they involve hazing and especially when the hazing borders on sexual abuse.

He should never be allowed to lead young men again.

NW has strict admission requirements for football players? That sounds like ND propaganda.

Pat is comfortable and does not have a desire to get back into NCAA football.
NFL maybe, but I would be surprised.

Would be surprised if the NFL would be open to a guy complacent with sex abuse into their ranks.

Dudes a made man and had plenty of money but is a complete failure as a leader of men.

I think he's very overrated but would still be a huge upgrade for us. I don't really know what his involvement in the hazing thing was but obviously you'd have to be comfortable with that before bringing him in. I'm a little surprised he hasn't had other opportunities so far.

I'm taking about things like SAT scores for all students, not just athletes.
I am sure they have exceptions for football and hoops players, among other favored groups.

They also offer a number of frivolous majors - one of which they actually included in their promo ad during the game.

Notwithstanding the legal and moral issues, can we really do better though?
Yeah we have a lot of money to spend and not a lot of big job openings this year to compete with. Plus going to P2 conferences limits the playing field. Not to mention the big ten will be spending $22m on players and it’s been speculated the majority will go to football. I’m not even sure if pats lawsuits have been resolved yet.

Why? What does he bring? No staff. No players. He had a couple of good seasons sure, but then he got fired for legit reasons.
He's not good enough or enough of a sure thing to do that.

We need a coach that brings in a staff and some players. We are going to lose a ton to the portal and our recruiting class is non-existent. Hopefully, whomever we get brings double digit players over.
