Lots of teams looking for HC's right now.

Not really...

P5

Purdue

UNC

WVU

We are currently the only P2 school

Likely cost will be 6 to 7 million a year

Which would be top Big 12 or ACC pay.

Id say right now UNC is a better job but I think we edge out WVU.

Being a coach in b1g or sec will be a huge advantage after profit sharing. I think UNC can edge us out given their bball blue blood status will lend itself to a better nil system. WVU doesn't have that and will likely be 1 to 2 mill cheaper than purdue.

The December 5

I love and hate the tough schedule. One huge advantage we have is experienced guards. One disadvantage is we are the hunted and every game means so much more to the opponent. Another disadvantage is without a roster full of transfers we are easier to scout. I watched Auburn play Iowa St. and NC. They are beatable but unlikely to lose in Birmingham.
Only reason as a fan to hate it is for the stress of close games.
For the team getting better there is no debate.
Remember all those Boiler teams that were good, but seemed to lay an egg come tourney time?
THOSE results are the why.
None of these game results mean much come March.
What does mean something is the experience and toughness the team develops during stressful, close games.
Especially handling pressure in a hostile environment and keeping your composure.
Invaluable come tourney time.
Only way to learn it is is to earn it.

Burgess

Tough ask for Will to stick around if he doesn’t carve out a role this year. Maybe he would but it wouldn’t surprise me to see him try the portal. Not sure where he’d end up but I’d imagine he’d garner some interest.
I'm sure he'll consider but every team needs a backup 5. If you consider Trey and Raleigh as 4's really, then it's not a big stretch to see Will getting some pt. And Trey and DJ will (likely) be gone before he graduates.

Colvin and Hiede

Exactly. Jacobsen may very well start next season but he’ll likely have to be damn good to move one of the current starters to a 6th man role.
For sure. But it also changes the team greatly, going from small to very big. Can you imagine Trey in another season of progression going against 4's?? With him posting against 4's and DJ pulling the center out of the paint and 3 drop dead shooters around them?? Give me, give me that possibly dominating team size and makeup. either Cam or Myles would be fire off the bench. or pretty ok with Daniel being the X factor off the bench as needed.

Colvin and Hiede

Is DJ going to be a guy that is perpetually injured?? Seemed to have a break awfully easily with minimal contact.

Hope the nutrition experts are working with him on diets that not only gain weight strength and muscle, but also most importantly increase bone strength.
Growing to 7'3" in 19 years means your bones have grown WAY more than most people in a given time span, so yes, more likely to break I think.
I'll always wonder if the break was point of stresses and weakened or just a fluke.
Forced rest NOW probably isn't a bad thing for his future health.

How attractive is the Purdue job right now?

Not very. Purdue won’t kick up for NIL.

With revenue sharing teams are supposed to be able to spend 20 million across revenue sports from actual tv/AD money, that immediately makes any big ten or SEC school better off than almost any non p2 school.

But that hasn’t been fully ironed out (I think it still relies on the courts to get a full settlement done). You’re relying on the ability of the AD to sell this as a done deal to top tier candidates.

Stop with the 8 million talk. That will get you a good solid coach. A coach who knows he’s an innovator, who knows that he knows something other people don’t.. knows he’s the next urban Meyer or whoever.. doesn’t need to dive face first on your 8 million. His agent will tell him to wait for the right opportunity

I’m just glad Walters is gone. You are your results and he was a train wreck
Tired

Unforgivable.

I wonder if Bobo and Brit make the next hire or if the big NIL donors give the final blessing on this next hire and agree to pony up dollars......?
Do we have big NIL donors? From what BC told us all year we don’t! lol.

I think our ticket to being competitive is the revenue sharing route. Dump “marketing” money into the football program and get guys that way vs being worried about 50k of NIL funds here or there.

Start payment “Tiers” of players and move them up or down based on performance. Fill in with actual NIL deals for the good players and we should be pretty competitive NIL wise overall.

Then all we need is a solid coach!

Biden getting us into WW III before leaving office.

Bob, this is where you are confused. We bomb the village it came from, but we also bomb government buildings, storage centers, and the like. This is the meaning of bombing the crap out of them.
I had dinner over the holidays with my W4, retired rank of W5, Ranger, Cavalry friend.
I've talked about him before on here. He retired with 45 years service.
I haven't heard from him in a couple of months and was wondering what he was up to.
Well despite pleas from his wife, he has volunteered to fly M1-8 Helicopters, as a contractor, for the Ukraine Military.
He signed a 1 year, 1 million dollar contract.
I admire his fearlessness and dedication but hope Trump gets some kind of resolution, to that war, before he starts his duties there.

Unforgivable.

If I saw them…just imagine how opposing coaches felt about those glaring holes!

I never wanted the guy to fail but he was a loser from day 1 here. Squandered what in the Purdue world was a lot of talent.

Here’s to winning the next hire and giving him the resources to succeed!

The Ole Miss Movie

Fun, fun watch. Thanks.

Lol...Movie just takes for granted how great TKR was. Lunch pail Boiler that just goes to work and quietly gets it done all game. Get 25/13 you think you might make the movie? But NO only an assist by him was shown. Are we just taking 25/13 for granted now??? 😂😂

But movie clearly showed the greatness of CMP coaching. Just 100% dead on marvelous . Also showed how Colvin who was just brilliant in this win. And Smith who was again great.....so lucky to have him lead our team.
Haha this is true. I think they showed the beginning real quick but wanted to focus mostly on the last 5 mins of the game since it was a crazy, intense ending

The Ole Miss Movie

One other thing. The announcer in this movie is just great. Like Hummel.....he brings excitement to the game. Have heard his work before, but can't remember his name?
Rob Blackman is our radio guy. He always says “TRIPLE TIIIIIIME” when we hit a 3 and brings lots of energy. The other guy with Hummel on the tv broadcast was Cory Provus (had to google it 😂)
