Certainly not enough 'arms' to overcome 10,000 National Guard troops, yet those troops never came.
Odd that the Jan 6 congressional "investigation" never investigated why that didn't happen, did they? Wonder why not. Any ideas why?

Trump, unlike Pence, Biden, and so many others, was primarily charged because he repeatedly obstructed justice once the classified docs were asked for. Showing Iranian battle plans to reporters and political operatives doesn't help him either.. If the narcissistic asshole hadn't taken every step possible to obstruct justice he wouldn't be in that shitstorm.
If Trump were not running for president, he would not be in that 'Joe-storm' because the dems would be focused on smearing DeSantos or whomever was in the lead.

Odd the Jan 6 "investigation" didn't seek to determine why the NG was not activated. Makes it seem like a pretty shoddy investigation despite all the special effects from the Hollywood guy they brought in. Right HoFan?

Ships were in Norfolk and could have sailed up the Potomac to back up the protesters if they couldn’t hold the capital.

Going off memory, but during the J6 horrors, I believe that Vice President Pence was frantically calling the National Guard because he couldn't get Trump to do so.
And while you may or may not be a Pence fan, on that day that Indiana University Law School grad severely outshone, "out-integrity-ed," "out-bravery-ed," and flat-out "out-decency-ed" that dumbass from Fordham and UPenn.

The National Guard gets deployed directly from the president. Watching the event go down on TV, If he really wanted the National Guard to be there, they would have been deployed. Chump enjoyed what was happening and his conversation with McCarthy proved it when Chump told him “I guess these people are more upset about the election than you are.”
Every government/military official, including the Vice President, and including all who said so under oath, say it was Trump's call and he refused to do so.

If it were Trump's failure, why didn't the phony Jan 6 committee call Pelosi and the DC mayor to testify? There would have been nobody to cross-examine them, so they could have said whatever they wanted without being challenged. Yet, the committee did want them to testify.
The only plausible reason for that is that they knew Pelosi and the DC mayor were at least partly responsible for the NG not being deployed, and the fake committee didn't want to draw attention to that.
You don’t seem to understand. Pelosi, DC mayor or anyone else has no authority to deploy the national guard. For the sake of argument Chump asked Pelosi if they need the national guard, seeing what is unfolding on TV, he could see what is unfolding and deploy the troops despite what Pelosi says. Chump clearly did not want to deploy the troops on his people.
That's the narrative, which you swallow whole as usual without thinking - but if it were true, the Jan 6 committee would have brought them in to testify in their multimedia farce investigation. They would never pass on a chance to bash Trump.

Wrong. Trump activated the National Guard, but it's Nancy Pelosi's ultimate decision to bring them in as she's the head of the Capitol Police. Trump made them available, but they were turned down 2 or 3 times days prior.

Thus is a pretty silly argument since the CPC Steven Sund has stated he requested 6x for assistance from the NG and it was denied. And look who he says denied him and why. He also has written a book and made some interesting comments in the breaking of normal protocol for intelligence sharing. And since he was in charge of providing security on Cap Hill it seemed strange that he was not briefed by the FBI RE: the assets they would have at 1/6. It’s kinda like they wanted this to happen according to him. Make a situation as worse as it could be - you know never let a crises go to waste. IIRC he also noted he wasn’t interviewed by the 1/6 committee which would seem very odd since he would be a prime witness (but not sure if I caught that exactly from an interview). Why not ask the source who declined his requests?
