Purdue v. North Carolina (Hall-of-Fame Tip-Off) Game Thread

I may have to pour a double in honor of our doubleheader victories today!

Looking good and feeling good.

Disagree— my daughter is a Villanova sophomore, and I’m nothing but impressed with VU and its fanbase…

Hail Purdue!!
I said nothing about the quality of their fan base. That was someone else. I just said if they were tempted to run their mouths then they should remember that last matchup.

My bad— I replied to the wrong post in this thread…

LOL, not really!
Honda S2000 .... track car ready for the road. Mathboy has a SUPER ONE and I sold mine a few years ago when I couldn't get out of the damned thing ... now my son bought one ... and the '00 and '01s are the truly track-ready ones ... he snared an '01

I heard those are awesome naturally aspirated engines. If I remember correctly about 250 to 300 hp stock in a 1500 pound car...

The S2000 is not quite that good. She puts out 240 hp at 9,000 rpm, and weights in around 2,700 lbs. It had the most horse power per liter of any NA engine until the Ferrari 458. it was made to compete with the BMW z-car and the original Porsche Boxter. It has decent acceleration, but the fun part is when you get to a curve. Do Dah is right. It is a track ready car. You don’t need to slow down. .

Mine has a bit more horsepower, so those mom’s in mini vans can’t beat me to the lane change. In fact there are more than a few Porsches, mustangs, and such that can’t beat me. They think they are getting their butts kicked by a Miata.

Amazing game. Best Purdue team I have seen since I have been a fan ('03-now). Freakish talent on this roster. Ivey is just breath taking to watch and Tre's meat grinder moves that fouled out both UNC centers were a thing of beauty.
And Furst...wow just wow. Hitting big shots and fighting like hell on the boards and not turning the ball over. And I haven't even mention Sasha who was dominate in the first half! What a ridiculous team man. Its like watching an NBA team ball on offense and in transition sometimes. Just fantastic.

As a lifelong Boiler fan I will say I kept waiting for a Boilermaker negative run....This team impressed me

Have your son check out you tube videos from LHT performance. They are in Tampa, and do a great job improving the little Honda’s . They’ve done a bunch. Number 39 is especially interesting because there is a Purdue license plate on it.

I loved the way every Boiler played yesterday and how they played like a team that could win it all. So I'm not complaining after a huge win, but there are 3 things I hope to never see again.

1. Edey running out to the 3-point line and jumping to block a shot, which turns out to be a fake, and the guy just takes it to the basket while Edey is still coming down.

2. Trevion lunging to make a steal out past the 3-point line and picking up another unecessary foul.

3. With the game won (or any other time!) Ivey letting an opponent drive to the basket for an easy lay-up, and then fouling him.
