Perry, Harris, and Forsythe class of 2024

Just my own opinion. I haven’t seen his name around all that much as compared to Perry and Harris. I could be totally wrong

Guess I misunderstood. I thought you were saying we were not active with Harris & Perry.....at least how that reads above? ....
"I don’t think we were active and focused on Perry and Harris."

Haha. Looking at that again, I can see how it was confusing.

Agreed. The fact he doesn’t have a timeline on narrowing his list makes the pessimist in me believe he is holding out for a Kentucky offer.
According to his Rivals profile, he’s had a KY offer for quite some time now.

Yah I think they offered him last year… I’m not sure he’s gonna choose UK. I’m not sure they’re pursuing him enough to show the level of commitment he’s looking for 🤷🏼‍♂️

Are we no longer recruiting Burns, or is this just a case of he has already visited Purdue?

Odd if we are still active with him, but we aren't mentioned at all.

Missouri just got a commit from a top 60 7' 2024 center. I would think this takes them out of the running, but who knows.
Honestly I don't ever know how to read recruiting site newsletters. I wonder if Rivals coverage of Purdue has slipped since Brian and the gang went to On3. As much as people gave Brian a hard time he was fairly consistent in his intel/info on recruits.

Found this interesting. For those who don’t follow Trilly, he grew to fame for being in the know on tons of top kids in the transfer portal. Now he has a blog as well.

No mention of Harris in LSU’s upcoming visits. Makes me wonder, and hope, that we are the last visit.

LSU impressive. I think Purdue fans would be fairly excited if that was our visit lineup. Can't recall ever that many top 100s visiting.

Yep, what you suggest could be a possibility......hope he visits us & ends it @ Purdue.

Lsu has always brought in major talent...their bball program should be a lot better than it is...people talk about us underachieving but I bet their recruiting rankings are a lot higher than ours....and I can't remember the last time they made a final four....

When I read posts that say “we have so much talent…”. I always wonder what these guys are smoking. Yes, we all cheer for our boys, but we don’t really have LSU type talent. We have some good players that Painter gets the most out of, but we don’t have a roster of top 50 guys.

Agree with that. Dale Brown made a couple in the early to mid 80’s so not as long as Purdue but close. LSU football went through close to 40 years where they were largely irrelevant on a national level until Saban showed up. They’ll probably be bemoaning the fact that he got away for the next 50 years.

Colvin, TKR, and Furst makes 3 guys. Helps explain the FF drought.

It’s all relative right? Even if he could land them, which he currently can’t, Painter is never going to sign an LSU type class as he values different qualities than the ranking services do.

I do think this roster has the best combination of skill, basketball IQ and athleticism that we’ve seen under MP but agree that it’s not a roster full of NBA level athletes.

2006 or 1980. 26 years is close?

I’ll wear my gold and black lenses all day but that is a generation in difference.

Easy killer 😉 I said they’d been to a couple in the mid 80’s under Brown, I’d totally forgotten they made one in 2006.

Painter gets the most out of the talent he has. But very seldom is that talent top 10 or top 20 to begin with! Very seldom does painter sign a top 10 player. And he’s never sign two top 10 players in the same year! Admittedly you can’t recruit everybody. However, if you look at the recruitment of the top 10 prospects very rarely will you see that the player has even received an offer from Painter! You can only be as good as the players you recruit! I said the exact same thing about Purdue football. 4/5 star offensive linemen do exist! However if you do not recruit them, they will continue to go elsewhere!
