The Norfolk State Spartans from the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) visit Mackey Arena this evening to take on the Boilers.

This is the final game before the Christmas holiday and conference play, which starts next week. Though heavily favored, can the Boilers continue more focused play limiting the turnovers? Also, the long-range shooting has been just a little off the last couple of contests...it would be nice to see a sharp game before the Hawkeyes visit next week.

Sometimes I think these type games hurt more than they help. We can pound it inside all night and win going away against teams like this. Doesn't really help when we play real competition. Everyone needs to be involved in the offense, including our "shooters." We are going to need them in the next 3 months.

Yes, it looks like the 3PT shooting has tailed off (Western Illinois and so far tonight) after a good start to the season. They need to get it back on track to be at their best.
