What a win this weekend for the Boilers and I was even there! The icing on the cake was coming here and seeing all the negatwitts that gave up before the half and were on here posting their usual garbage only to have it shoved back in their face! Just added to the win.

So let's see, let's list just a few of the things they have said that have been proven false like they all knew they were:

"Painter can't recruit a 5 star" - proven false
"Painter can't recruit athletic good point guards" -- proven false
"Painter can't recruit athletic players" -- Proven false
"Painter can't win big games on a neutral court" -- proven false
"Painter can't win big games against ranked opponents on a neutral court" -- proven false
"Painter doesn't get on the officials" -- proven false
"Painter can't make adjustments" -- proven false
"Painter is an average coach" -- proven false

The list from the negatwitts goes on and on and on and on and on and 99% of their usual rhetoric is wrong and the only remaining one is getting to a FF and things are well on the way to proving that wrong as well. Now I know most will want me to take the high road and not make this post but, after all the crap the negatwitts post, this heaping dose of reality is warranted just to further show how little they know and they get all of their basketball "knowledge" from playing video games.

All you negatwitts have zero credibility now. It was not really in doubt before, but after this weekend it is more certain than ever. You all gave up on the team and started making stupid predictable posts and every last one of you has egg on your face now and on behalf of the team and staff, you all can suck it.

Could you cut it out with the 'I told you so' posts? .
Nope. For all the posts that were on here from all the wannabe experts, this post is most certainly deserved. And I will keep it up as long as the posts calling for Painter to get fired or giving up and degrading the team before the season or even the game is finished keep happening.

Sorry if you don't like it, but I am going to stand up for the team whether people like it or not. People tried to have decent discussions but you have certain posters that are bent on being negative so they deserve every I told you so there is.

"Painter can't win in the tournament." - Boom. Come back when he proves something that matters.

Either way....just be happy CMP and the team finally won a reasonable game. It does not prove anyone right or wrong. It's all BS till March. Try to Boiler Up (not Paunter Up) till then. :) Merry Christmas

So we get reasonableguy when we suck, and you when we play well...awesome. I can't tell the difference.

Na I'm here regardless of win or lose. See difference between you and me though is I know what I am talking about where the only knowledge you get is from what you learn from your video games.

He has already -- Boom come back when you have something not so weak. All you experts clamored that these games matter because Painter couldn't win them but now all of a sudden they don't? Try to not be a hypocrite and support the team for a change.

Aren't you happy as well? The team did win.......I would think most fans would be happy. Most. :) HAPPY New Year

Quit with the shit.
It's really funny you post for us to quit yet you and all your other cronies did nothing but spew nonsense on here prior to the win and the weeks and months leading up to this season.

Now you all simply can't handle the crow you're being forced to eat for being wrong for so long even though why you were wrong was explained in great detail for quite some time.

Children play on playgrounds, not on forum's discussing basketball.

For some of you, the only thing that will "matter" will be the next game he doesn't win.
The sad thing is when I first got to this site, I tried to have some decent conversations but it was impossible because of all the negativity. So, I gave up and took a more aggressive approach. If all the negatwitts weren't so fixed on their hypocritcal agenda at tearing Painter and this team down, then there wouldn't be a need for them to get called out.

Put simply, it all starts and ends with them. We'll see how it goes from here but I suspect your post is going to turn out to be 100% correct.

I appreciate your posts. You hold them accountable for their BS.

Also ever notice how they are "realists" with "facts" until they are wrong about something and then those "facts" become just innocent "opinions" that they are entitled to?

I got your back Kess, I enjoy your perspective. Just keep being you and the rewards will be sweet when we arrive in the final four. You have been a breath of fresh air around here.

For some of you, the only thing that will "matter" will be the next game he doesn't win.
He's had 3 big games this season. He's lost 2 of those. My only post after the first loss was positive. I don't honestly remember posting after the second. It does make me chuckle though that a come back win against a lower ranked team (not traditionally known to be a basketball powerhouse), on a neutral court, is somehow considered to be CMP's vindication of all criticism. Expectations...to each his own.

For some of you, the only thing that will "matter" will be the next game he doesn't win.
And for you, Kess, and a very small minority...the only thing that matters to you is being so standoffish that you create an atmosphere on here that is divisive and aggressive. You do realize that if instead of being hyper aggressive, you could find a different tone and STILL make the same points you are making...without sounding like a teenage asshat, right? Don't get me wrong, I appreciate your opinions and can read mostly through your aggressive tone...but some times it gets to the point that I simply don't read your posts anymore. I won't block you because that literally does no good in the grand scheme of things.

In fact, your opinions and the opinions of your so called 'negatwitts' really hold truths. Painter is a very good coach with a high amount of respect in college basketball...but has done little to nothing in the grand scheme of things when it truly matters..the post season. That's both of your arguments and they are both true.

Well it was certainly vindication of the criticism posted on here at halftime of that game Saturday.

Like I said, the game that "matters" will always be the game he didn't win. Now all of a sudden this game wasn't that big and was expected.

For once, Purdue was favored in the game AND was a higher ranked team in the Crossroads Classic. Other than last year when Butler sort of came out of nowhere in the early part of the season, I can't really remember being a favored team in their matchup.

I disagree. The people that are on here tearing down the team and the coach are the people that are creating the divisive atmosphere. That said, I'm not some weak-minded millennial who needs a safe space when someone posts something I don't like. If you want to keep posting it, I don't mind responding as needed.

So because we were a slight favored against a similarly-ranked team on a neutral court the game didn't matter? Or did it matter? Or did it only matter if we lost?

No, it mattered because Purdue was favored to win a game that most fans had already chalked up as a loss because of the incredibly poor showings of the last four years. That didn't appear to be any different in the first half and people were justifiably frustrated. Those same people came back and gave CMP and the team credit where it was due.

You have to admit, at least some where in your stream of consciousness, that the detractors to CMP have some justifiable ground to stand on with their frustration of the program under his watch.

And this post is the exact thing that I am pointing out. In all of my posts, I never once decided to throw any sort of illogical names towards you or Kess because, quite frankly, it isn't constructive. Yet, in just a few responses, you have decided to lump me in to an illogical group of people that I may or may not even identify with. Do you know me personally? How do you know I am a millennial or not? Have I asked for a safe space because I can't handle a differing opinion?

Quite honestly, your assumptions and your inability to take criticism or a differing of opinion screams much louder of a 'weak-minded millennial who needs a safe space' than mine do. In all honesty, as I said previously, I enjoy your perspective as I enjoy most others because it allows me to see things in a different light and allows me a broader understanding of a topic to further my knowledge.

I wish everyone could just enjoy the journey. We have a good team, they are fun to watch. Just sit back and enjoy the next 3 months. There is so much put on the tournament that the fun of the 30 games leading up to it gets lost. Of course I want us to do well in the dance. The difference is I refuse to let a single game define my enjoyment of 30+ games.

We go to at least 6 games a year at Mackey, the Crossroads and 1 road game. The crew will be here in a couple hours to head down tonight. The season is too much fun for me to be ruined by a disappointment in a single elimination tournament.

I'm sure there are those that will label me a "settler", and I can handle that (I'm old enough not to need a safe place). I would counter that by saying I see myself as more of a positive person that appreciates all the fun I get to have each winter watching my team play. If we win a Title in my lifetime I would probably break down and cry with joy. But if we don't I'm not going to be miserable or run down the coach or team in the process. These are my Boilers and my coach and I will support them the best I can.

Everyone has a right to their opinion, I just wish there wasn't so much "negative energy" on this board. Even after a really fun game and victory we have thread after thread that ends up in pissing matches over a very fun team to cheer for. I was at the ND game so I wasn't posting during it. But to come back afterwards and see all the negative crap that was posted is disappointing. If the team/coach makes you that miserable I would suggest finding a different hobby. Because in the end that's all this is to us. Our lives are not going to be changed one bit with a win or a defeat. I choose to completely enjoy my hobby.

But your post directs that line of language directly at me. Again, if you go through most of the conversations, you and I share most of the same opinions. I am just, quite honestly, sick of the holier than thou approach by both sides and would much rather have constructive conversations instead of this 'you said this and now I'm right because I didn't' posts. Those that eat their crow (and wear the dunce cap with pride as I do) are the ones that can be respected. I get your frustration with the opposing side but your posts and posts like yours do nothing for the board except bring it down.

I guess you could call my approach this:

Yeah, the hyper-aggresive, name calling posts are pretty much an immediate skip for me when browsing the forum, regardless of the opinion being put forth.

Well your post did sound like it came straight from a Hillary Clinton rally.

I don't mind confrontation. In fact, it can be good. Sometimes it takes a little to get things righted. I don't mind people criticizing CMP. He's not perfect and he gets paid well to take the criticism. But when he is criticized unfairly, like Saturday, and illogical conclusions are drawn (ie fire the coach) because we were down at halftime of a game that we eventually won against a ranked team then I take issue. It's not as if this is a singular occurrence either. It happens repeatedly. Frankly, I can live without people coming back to own up to their stupidity. Just learn from it and don't do it again. Until that happens, I don't mind if they get called out.

I thought we would lose at halftime. I just wasn't here making an ass of myself about it. I think that is the issue.

Ha ha

I fell asleep and thought the game was later in the evening. Totally missed the first half and only saw the good part of the game!

Ugghh, Ughhh, Ughhh...the political stuff on a sports board. Why oh why?

You're so brave, I'm truly inspired. What I find ironic is that you call out the "haters" for being over emotional after a bad loss and you're doing the exact same thing now that we pulled off a win against a team we were favored to beat. It's kind of embarrassing that you seem revel in your I told you so post rather than just sit back and enjoy a quality win like the rest of us.

Umm no, I call out the negatwitts for constantly spewing their garbage on here. Has nothing to do with emotion but rather more about them being morons and not having a clue as to what they are talking about.

And why on earth would I be embarrassed for making an I told you so post? This post simply means the team is playing like those of us with a brain knew it would. I'm far from embarrassed because I have no reason to be and pretty much am laughing at you for thinking that. Literally.

But don't worry, like TC said, when we lose you will have your chance to come back around spewing your nonsense once again. However this all of your comments have zero legitimacy or credibility because no matter how far you move the goalposts, just about every point has been proven false now.

The win over ND was much more than just a quality win, the entire game was a huge smack across the face to all you negatwitts. So yeah, I truly am enjoying the win and this thread is just icing on the cake.
