Won at San Diego State

Won @ Tulsa

Won @ DePaul

Lost by 12 @ Texas Tech

Also have a balanced offense. Five players average 7-12 points.

Don't have great size by any means, but 12/5 match-ups have been very dangerous.

Purdue has also been very dangerous in the first round, almost always winning their game. I take Purdue. Play to win, don't play to not-lose.

Also, Tulsa has no business even being in the Tourney

use our depth and get them to use the bench and we win.....

Play aggressive and "Play Hard"!

This is all relative (playing in-conference games for them is very different and stats can be misleading), but they play pretty decently into their bench.

Overall, this is a game Purdue has to show up for. Period.

How Little Rock ranks compared to teams Purdue played this year:

RPI #46...4 spots behind Wisconsin & 6 ahead of Pitt
Kenpom #47...2 spots behind Pitt & 9 ahead of Michigan

They have no answer for our bigs. CMP loses this game, he may not want to come back. I see us in Chicago. I've watched ISU a few games this year and they do not play D. I think we win this game easy if we play our game.

I live in Little Rock. Not terribly excited with this draw, but if we play our game, we have no excuse to lose to UALR. Go Boilers!

Absolutely, I don't think anyone's saying that they are as good as we are. We win 9/10 match-ups. But in the NCAA Tourney, as we all know, you get everyone's best game in this opening round. This team has shown they can compete with other "legit" teams (not necessarily great, but still). We gotta play to win. Not just show up.

Bring in the concrete boys!!! This thread is pouring the foundation to build excuses for a loss. If we get beaten by either of these two teams, THERE IS NO EXCUSE! No seeding excuse. No lame location excuse. None! Got it? NONE!

I watched their tournament final and as long as we don't run and gun with them we should be fine. A five seed that can't beat a twelve doesn't need to look for excuses.

This is a team that scares me.

If Purdue is scared of Little Rock they are stupid losers that shouldn't be in this tournament. Purdue should be so mad after this seeding their heads shld be exploding with anger and rage. The ncaa can do whatever the hell they want just don't disrespect me. The team better come out swinging with rage after this. All I can say. Once disrespected like this it ain't about winning no more. Its about war now.

I think we have a good shot to get to Chicago. The Virginia match up is not a good one....they double the post every possession and do it very well......VE, DM and RC need good games to advance.

Heller, haven't seen this team play but someone I trust told me they are deep, and they like to press. Basically, run waves of pressure and defense is their identity. Can you comment?

They force a lot of turnovers.

I'm not making excuses for a loss, but they are a team that actually scares as an upset machine, up there with Chattanooga and UNCW.

Virginia is a decent matchup should we get there, but uhh...can we focus on the first two games first? One game at a time.

Having said that, no one in this bracket scares me. No one.

Virginia has trouble scoring, 1 true shooter that Davis will cover. UVa plays some nice D, but I think Caleb and VE could be the difference in this game. Our bigs have seen the double and triple team all year. Playing in Chicago and being the lower seed will be a huge advantage. If MSU is there, it will basically be a home game for Purdue.

Only gonna be a home game for Purdue if Purdue plays there! Gotta win the first two first...;)

Different from having a high caliber B1G team full of athletes press versus a mid-major that isn't one of the power mid-majors like SDSU or Wichita St. Purdue should be able to easily handle the press and get some easy buckets as they did at times to get teams to quit pressing. I am guessing we may see much more of Edwards and Mathias handling the ball and getting AJ and Biggie some transition points to slow their press.

Also, I would venture to say that the quality depth of going 4 deep in to the bench (Mathias, Cline, Hill, Haas) will wear a team like LR down. They may end up hanging for 25-30 minutes, but I am guessing a 15+ point win as AJ, Haas, and Biggie combine for 35pts and 20 rb.
They like to press? Super.

Purdue should have been a 4 seed but the 5 isn't much difference. I am excited to see what Purdue will do.

Size matters. Little Rock vs. Purdue has match-up nightmares top to bottom for Little Rock. They haven't seen defense like ours nor monster size like this. Purdue 88 Ark-LR 43
