4-17 FG and 1-8 3PT is not a good way to end the B1G Tournament

Great example.

Just going with my gut, I feel like Loyer is a guy who is on the cusp of breaking out. Good players don't stay down long.

It's good to be positive but I don't see ANY reason to be optimistic.
He can't even make free throws now.
Thank GOD Newman HAS broken out. And Mason is starting to shoot it again.
I love the kid and his effort and I hope you're right. Love to see it.

The good news about Purdue's 3-pt shooting is that it's not fundamentally broken. The players are taking good shots, they're not "forcing it" like you sometimes get with people who are in a slump.

Unfortunately that's also the bad news. If you can't point to something that's broken, there's nothing you can do to "fix" it. You just have to keep taking the shots and hope they fall

But Purdue has had plenty of games they've shot poorly from 3 and still won. It just means controlling the most controllable parts of the game in terms of turnovers, free throws, and rebounding.

Newman is an every other game scorer. He has broken out to be that. His rebounding and defense are good, court presence improved, but still does some dumb things( passing back under his own basket).

Leaning on the we won shooting 20% from three refrain, won’t work if you want to win against good tournament teams. Edey may make that happen once when the competition gets better, but not all the way to the promised land without at least mediocre three point shooting.

"every other game scorer" based on WHAT?
Judging him on his very limited opportunities until very recently would just be silly. Judging him that way based on the past several weeks of him playing much more would be even sillier.
He's still learning his role and fitting in.
Not enough evidence to reach any conclusion.
Brandon is just now getting prime minutes that the rest of the rotation has had all season long.
He's making (less!) of the silly plays that MOST of the guys make/made early in the season or in early Big 10 play when things got tougher.
So he's a little behind in getting to be relaxed and playing free and loose along with being tied in and focused.
He's doing fine and he'll get there.

Leaning on? THe point is they DID win shooting 20% against good teams.
Fact is the team shoots it bad but WAY above 20% at 32.6
so shouldn't have to worry.
