OSU vs Texas - OSU looking for a kill?

Like professional sports since the dawn of free agency...fan base with the deepest pockets will win. No drama....I refuse to watch this crap in the NIL/free agent-like transfer portal era.
while I agree in general, I enjoyed watching those SEC teams get beat and seeing all the online fans complain that Alabama or South Carolina should be in the CFP. When the money went above the table, Alabama (and other SEC teams) lost their edge. So I enjoy that part of NIL football.

Any idea who Coach Painter is talking about?

That comment is not even relevant, as we had no room to go to the portal.....so CMP is just yapping.

Now if he doesn't go into the portal next year......as both things can be true. CMP frosh (& Furst) are developing, but one can also get an impact guy (with the right attitude) out of the portal.
Jones was a transfer last year, does Painter think he didn't help? I don't think so. If he'd been in the portal would Painter have not taken him? I don't think so.

Like you said, there is was no space so no, no one here was calling for a portal player. People here DO think Painter should not absolutely reject the portal as option.

They should really buy out the ND game and schedule an easy win. This program needs some success, not to go to South Bend and get throttled by 45 pts.
After all the shit we gave Indinia for getting out of the Louisville game for Western Illinois or Charlotte or whatever? No way. Play the schedule the way you set it up. Be men.

Colvin and Heide yikes

My man you can take that “classy” comment and shove it. This dude hasn’t made a shot since Ole Miss and just looks bad. Sorry, but there are expectations. I was told here that the kid should be starting over Loyer. Lol
GTFU, you sound like a guy who lives in his mom’s basement. Most shooters go through rough patches, you don’t have to like it but no one cares about your expectations.

BTW, he was 2-4 from deep two games ago, at least try to sound like you know wtf you’re talking about.

The kid is seven games removed from a 14 for 31 start to the season including 2 of 4 against NU and you’re writing him off. Classy.

Purdue at Rutgers: MASTER DISCUSSION THREAD

BERG?! Cmon man. You’re a known combine hater but that’s even outrageous for you to say. Myles is in a slump and you’ve seen what he can do. You don’t just sit the kid cuz he isn’t scoring. He’s making a big impact on defense and you know it. But cmon man.
Why are you ranting about his defense? Last night he was beaten more than once because he was out of position. As stated, I hope he becomes a basketball savant, but man he's shown so very little this season and once the yips hit the putter, it's a long, hard way back.

The first three things when he got the ball was miss three pointers. Maybe he needs to work on layups first.

Nah Colvin is supposed to be a sniper. But he’s just not, at least not now. I’d trade him for the Wheeler we had without hesitation right now.

IU did not deserve to be in CFP. Great article by USA Today

As stated elsewhere, any once-beaten team from the Big Ten certainly belongs in the nation’s top eight, despite outcry by fans whose own team answered 66 points with 67 yards. We have zero room to talk this year, although we can always point to all the P’s on the Bucket chain and note there’s a lot more where those came from, 77-43-6 in all. Talk about a blowout. Plus, it’s fitting to yank the chain of any supporter of the losingest program in NCAA history whose schedule boasted the two all-time worst programs by percentage. That’s downright smelly.

Really your going to pick out the worst season in program history. I loved rushing the field against Michigan state. I loved rushing the field against Ohio state. There is a reason we are known as the spoilermakers.

High-school blow outs are reserved for Friday night
Do you know how many times we’ve won since the turn of the millennium? Three.
And the number of wins in the 15 years before that? Two.

40 years.
5 wins.

It’s long past time to get them off of our schedule…

I come to bury the playoffs, not to praise them

No playoff of any kind should match the best two teams in the virtual first round. By record and by talent, those teams this year were Oregon and Ohio State, respectively, though OSU choked twice while the Ducks kept clean. Being the one and only unbeaten and the unanimous No. 1, Oregon deserved far better than an opening rematch against the perennial leader in recruiting ratings that the Ducks already beat in conference play and saw gag badly against its own archrival.

Next best were Notre Dame, Penn State, Georgia, Texas, Tennessee and James Madison West, nee James West. The ponies, dabs, dust devils and little boy blues were not worthy, mere products of playoff inflation, and forget about those four-time flops from Tuscaloser. Their coach retired. The program followed.

Shoot-can any comparisons to basketball, where high school kids can play two tournament games a day. AAU plays even more, and NCAA conferences set up potential five-game weeks. Football at any level demands a week of recovery and preparation, or else injuries are compounded and play suffers. Plus, colleges can’t string things out until spring training like the NFL does. Students have more to do.

We are still talking about college students, right? Athletes who need good starts in their loaded spring semesters after easy falls? Or have they all turned pro, skipping classes like they skip schools? Me-first mercenaries opting out of reality like their rules-makers. Transcripts? Transcripts? We don’t need no stinking transcripts. We’re playground pickup teams but want pay like stars and might quit, anyway.

Kind of reminds me of Wheeler shooting his last year here. Almost like they're shooting on the way down.
