Arizona admits that nearly 100,000 non-citizen 'voters' wrongly listed on voter rolls amid lawsuit

No doubt it's Trump's fault.

How many pros on this team?

My very scientific SWAG at NBA potential:

Jacobsen - 60%
Colvin - 40%
Smith - 20%
Heide - 20%
Harris - 20%
TKR - 5%
Burgess - 5%
Loyer - 5%
Cox - 5%
Benter - 1%
Furst - 0%
Waddell - 0%
Berg - 0%
Would jump Heide to 50%. Physically he is an NBA 3 and D. Needs to extend his range and keep working on his perimeter defense.

Truly feel IU is NOT…

I'm not here to downplay the success they are having right away with this new coach, they are 5-0 and have two conference wins already, but I do think some perspective is needed. If we played their non con schedule, we'd have been 3-0 hosting Nebraska. And maybe Harrell is fired in November rather than September lol

Seriously though, what a smart move buying out of that Louisville game and avoiding an early L for the new coach. Purdue may want to start looking at bailing on some future games on the schedule.
The Louisville game was bought out when Allen was still coaching to get him to 6 wins.

Who signs with Purdue this fall?

TI've never seen any discussion or posting that a stretch 4 has guard like skills.
Stretch just means they can shoot it outside to hopefully keep opposing 4 from sagging on 5.
Would you call Gillis a stretch 4? Eifert?

I think of Robbie and Vince as a 'true' stretch 4 and I think that's what a lot of folks are looking for versus Gillis or Eifert, but that may just be me.

RIP Dikembe Mutombo

One my favorite famous people. He used to live by my office here in Atlanta and I would run into him pretty frequently at the local dry cleaner when I was dropping stuff off. Would always stop and talk with me about kids and life and was an incredibly humble and funny guy. Always parked his Bentley on the curb, put on his drivers cap and told everybody his rich client was busy dropping off his laundry and he’d move the car in a minute.

RIP!

By the time you realize someone isn’t working out…

While there were certainly folks defending Walters and optimistic that he'd do well, I dont remember anyone saying he was the greatest ever or even close to that.
As a defensive mind…oh yeah. He was anointed by a majority of the board even though he’s shown he’s anything but.

I give him probably more credit than should be due for getting rid of Harrell as quickly as he did though. He saw a (big) problem and adjusted.

Why is it in American's best interest to support Ukraine? Since we purchase oil from Russia, it sounds like we're fighting ourselves in this situation.
If we purchase oil from Russia, it's through intermediaries (since direct purchase is banned) and it's not very much at all:

How many pros on this team?

Talent wins. Saw that in last year's NCAAT final. Not only from UCONN but from Purdue's Edey.

But with experience, perhaps in the right year, it doesn't have to be NBA level talent, but maybe 2nd tier European/D League talent can be sufficient? Purdue has alot of those types.

And I agree with the above Jacobson has a great chance.
I would bump Gicarri to 60%. I think there is a world where he could have an Ivey-like trajectory.

Would also bump Jacobsen to 75%. You can't teach 7'4", and Purdue has a track record with those types.

Nebraska at Purdue: MASTER DISCUSSION THREAD

Was at your place a few years back for the Nebraska-Purdue game. We won a close one. I just want to say it was my only time at Purdue and I had a blast. Purdue fans were awesome. Drunk and fun, just as I like it. You guys deserve better. Maybe Walters can turn it around. But as a Nebraska fan who has tasted the bitter pill of revolving door failed coaches I can only say I feel your pain. Try and have fun this year even if it sucks. We have gotten good at that.
thanx, where in Pa. do you live ?

By the time you realize someone isn’t working out…

They don’t like people saying I told you so.

Don’t worry they will find something new to complain about. Or some new player To hype will be the greatest player ever.

The facts are he didn’t work out as a great coach. He had issues as a coach before he arrived at Purdue. I thought he would do well. I was wrong.

As for our current players, a team is only as good as its weakest players. I thought the two receivers who came via the portal from Georgia would be better. They were both 4 stars in high school. I guess we now know why they didn’t play much at Georgia.

The solution? Get a new strength and conditioning coach. Get a new offensive and defensive line coach. Change recruiting philosophies and recruit some offensive linemen who can actually pass block rather than just be big with nice 40 times.

I’ll admit, I didn’t follow any of the Purdue recruits in college. I really don’t know how they earned their stars. At least we stopped recruiting players who only had MAC offers. Maybe the lineman we recruited were run oriented blockers and not pass oriented blockers. It’s obvious the players we recruited. Did not match the schemes we wanted to employ. I believe our coaches realized that and adopted their planned playbook to make maximum use of the players talents.

For some reason, it just didn’t work. The national scouts were all predicting Purdue for 2-4 wins at most this year. Maybe they know a lot more than the experts and homers on this forum.

You have two options: throw in the towel or regroup.

Maybe it’s time to forget about redshirting. And start playing the freshmen in games we have a chance of winning. They can keep their redshirt status if they play 4 games or less.

Maybe it’s also time to stop focusing on recruiting any more QBs and DBs and start recruiting some linemen and linebackers.

I recall a ND team in the 70’s that got off to a really bad start to their season. And they were losing big to Purdue. And then their first two QBs on the depth chart were injured. So they were forced to play their third string QB . He was a guy named Joe named after a western state. I forgot. Was his name Joe Idaho? No. Joe Wyoming? No. What was that state?

My point? We should have given our second and third string QBs a chance to play against Notre Dame and Indiana st at least to get some experience. Both games were already out of reach. Maybe like Notre Dame it’s time to see what our third string QB can do. It’s clear Card isn’t getting the job done. If nothing else, it will give next year’s qb some game time experience. It’s not like we’re going to win.

Focus on beating Minnesota, northwestern, Illinois and IU. That’s 4 games and the player could keep his redshirt status and forget about a potential bowl game

One more ting. If you don’t like my outside the box ideas and solutions, stop reading them! You’ll be much happier! And start giving the national scouts some credit. They actually know more than you think they do.
don't play Minny this year

One Really Violent Day

I love it. Crack some skulls. Teach people the hard way that stealing is wrong and there are consequences, sometimes painful.
Yeah? No.

Violent summary justice on the scene, at times because someone was in the wrong place at the wrong time?

How about arrests based on probable cause and convictions based on proof beyond a reasonable doubt instead? That would be a better way to prevent the breakdown of civil society.

Why is the US the largest financial contributor to Ukraines defense? You would think that if the threat of invasion by Russia were that real, Germany, France, Poland and other Euro countries would be doing more than that US.
Answer: After being NATO's cash cow for 75 years, Germany, France, Poland and other Euro countries knew that Uncle Stupid would pony up yet again so they wouldn't have to.

The following is copied from an article in the NY Times, link included.

“Gen. Dwight Eisenhower, NATO’s first supreme allied commander Europe, felt strongly that his mission was to get Europeans “back on their military feet” — not for American troops to become the permanent bodyguard for Brussels and Berlin.

“If in 10 years, all American troops stationed in Europe for national defense purposes have not been returned to the United States,” he wrote of NATO in 1951, “then this whole project will have failed.”

“But as leaders of NATO allies gather in Washington on Tuesday for the alliance’s 75th anniversary, some 90,000 U.S. troops are stationed in Germany, Italy, Britain and elsewhere, making up a significant portion of the 500,000 NATO troops on high readiness.”
