NFL thread

He takes too many sacks but he was pretty fantastic yesterday and has already had 3 big time late drives to put them in position to win. He’s had to work through basically a mutiny already. I think he looks pretty good, and I think he’d go #1 again if they re-drafted today
His completion percentage on passes over 15 yards was the worst in the last 15 years going into yesterday.

Don’t confuse didn’t warrant the number one pick with no good. I’d have rather traded down and gotten another haul.

Remember Tomczak vs Harbaugh? Tomczak would suck and get benched halfway through a game and then Harbaugh would turn heads. He’d have another good game and then the next team after that would spend all week game planning for Harbaugh. Then he’d be ehhh and Tomczak would go in and have a good game and so on.

Thomas brown isn’t on film yet with Chicago. In the next 2-3 weeks you’re going to see Moore catch a screen pass that you’ve only seen recently and a guy is going to be waiting for him and knock him into next week. and other plays are going to be diagnosed much better. Then youll see how much Williams has improved.

Then there’s year two. Remember how good stroud was last year? Most QBs have throws they just don’t make well. Areas of the field they don’t see well on certain looks. Year two comes and the guy who can’t throw a great out route sees DBs creep inside a step or two. Then you find out how good a player is really going to be.

I’ll stick by my take on Williams

Why I don’t think Walters 100% gets fired and why that’s a good thing

No coach is going to wait a year and hope a Big Ten job is coming open again. Especially for a coach that doesn't have the resume to be hired by Nebraska or Wisconsin.

The Purdue gig is going to be desirable because they already know what's coming. And Purdue has $20MM to $40MM more reasons why it's going to be better than an ACC or Big12 job.
Who said anything about telling a specific coach to wait? Next year when the job opens you have a different pool lol. Coaches who don’t have to take any job aren’t going to a place where they’ll have money in a year.

Finally just one black person. White women as usual have gotten a pass for being DEI hires. This cabinet is far from representing the makeup of America.
quite possibly the worse thing that could happen is to mandate equality of outcomes which would take place with the makeup of America being represented. Although most of the country is over weight I wouldn't want my basketball team to represent the makeup of America...nor would I want my doctors, engineers and so forth. There is no logical reason to believe a certain demographic benefits the other demographics by being a certain sex, race and/or ethnic group. Voting or selecting a person as a result of identify politics not only hurts others, but the qualified ones (inside that demographic) not being selected since merit was not the driving factor. Those of us with children now that the outcomes of each are different. I could provide you some logical readings, but doubt you have time.

Just for fun....had Painter used the portal..

Neither played much defense, at least not consistently. I'm not sure either were big 'detail' guys. Painter gave both a lot of leeway.

On the flip side, both had incredible work ethics. Probably better to say that they were unconventional fits for Purdue.
Edwards had a crazy work ethic. I think Ivey was just incredibly gifted. He tended to take some plays off here and there as well. But man... Any space at all and he was dunking on someone. If he would have committed more to the game, maybe Purdue goes to the Elite 8 or F4 that year. At the same time, I'm not sure Painter knew how to use him. It isn't that Painter hasn't ever coached great guards. E'Twaun Moore was awesome. Edwards was awesome. Ivey was a completely different level, a reason he went Top 5 in the draft. Ivey also could have used a better point guard like Smith.

I'm not sure what Edwards was like but you could kinda tell Ivey was different among everyone else at Purdue and much different than anyone Painter has ever had and may have at Purdue.

Army Offers $15,000 Reward for Info on Missing Guns and Other Gear at Fort Moore

I was in the Army for 28 years. I can tell you how it happens. You assign your best people to jobs that need smarts, make decisions, supervise others. You take your losers, e.g. pregnant females who cannot do anything other than sit at a desk, and put them at meathead desk jobs, e.g. guarding the guns.
kinda along the lines I was thinking except we now have more meathead people due to DEI since fewer have wanted to enlist and others qualified started dropping out under Obama

Bobinski needs to go before Walters

Could be. Her title of Senior Woman Administrator tells me much. I'm sure her experience helping Alabama football players go pro has served Purdue well.

Grimes' focus for the Boilermakers will involve shaping Purdue's departmental strategy and advise staff on the ever-changing landscape of college athletics. She serves on the department's Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) working group to utilize her expertise in the area, including her previous experience with establishing Alabama's Elite Athlete Program, which helped notable student-athletes from the Crimson Tide's 18-time national champion football program transition into the realm of professional sports and encompassed "The Advantage", Alabama's NIL initiative.

Not sure how this happens and the potential fallout as a result---

Army investigators are still searching for 31 M17 pistols that disappeared from Fort Moore, Georgia, earlier this year, but the case has grown, with additional equipment now reported missing from the same facility.

The Army's Criminal Investigation Division, or CID, recently announced a $15,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of the missing pistols, along with two sets of night vision goggles and one AN/PAS-13D Thermal Weapon Sight. A base spokesperson confirmed that the gear is missing.

"Army CID is actively seeking any information relevant to the loss of the M17 pistols, ENVGs and thermal optic," a news release from the service said.

Bill Clinton and Justice Kavanaugh were too. Who cares?
there has been a lot of people with wealth and fame that have been accused of things of which sometimes could be true. We know this because of the hush money for the politicians...and what goes on outside of politics as well. Do we really think we can list all? Next...like you said. The hole we are in is much more severe than different accounts of an unproven situation or unfortunately in proven situations. We are in a hell of a mess and most the country knows this...even some that voted for Harris since there were a lot more support for certain items well above either candidate.

I’ll be celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow with Mrs New Pal’s family, many of whom voted for Kamala… thoughts and prayers appreciated.
if they project something...ask why they believe what they do and for them to support it logically. Facts of "importance" are rarely found in their verbage

Just for fun....had Painter used the portal..

Yeah looking at rankings, he was higher than those two (again not that it matters). But he isn’t as good as those two YET. He also came into a different situation than those two. I’m a Myles defender (as you know 😂). But I understand your view point.
Fingers crossed brother. If Myles becomes near the player that those two were this will be an exciting couple of seasons.

If the Boilers beat iu

Dont forget not all starting players from JMU which I have pointed out here before. QB - Ohio - 2 RBs from Wake Forest and their leading rushers, 1 from UNC, WR are from IU, 1 JMU and 1 Texas Tech, OL from IU and 1 now starting from JMU due to injury ... I'd say that "sun belt" talent did pretty well in the B1G minus the OSU game. They blew away teams they shouldn't have. scUM was different but scUM also has 2 projected NFL DLs in the first round. Average teams or bad teams would have lost that game to scUM but they did not.

You will lose your bet by halftime.

Memphis drops Uconn

Memphis bullied their guards all game and took Mahaney completely out of the game by attacking him every chance they could and Mahaney couldn’t handle it and Hurley had to take him out of the game for most of the second half. Hunter (on his third team in 4 years) hit huge 3 after huge 3. Dainja played the best I’ve ever seen him play.

Tbh, I didn’t think McNeeley should have been called for the foul. I agree with Hurley when he said the Memphis player made a half ass play—didn’t even seem to box out McNeely. I understand Hurley was stickin up for his team but not a good time to get a T, allowing Memphis to have 4 FTs…with that said, he was asking for it all game by cursing at the refs and crowd allll game.

Right now, UConn does not look like the UConn we’ve seen the past two years. No elite rim protector and guards aren’t as good. Now, they could get better throughout the year, but right now, they don’t look like a F4 team. BUT, it’s early.
