Transfer Portal Targets for 2023-2024 Season

No thanks. Has averaged about 10 minutes a game at KU and shot under 30% from 3 the past 2 years. We can do better I hope.
He was really good at Drake the second half of the season a few years ago, he should have stayed there.

Would guess we contacted him for the same role Lance Jones already filled. Doubt we are still in contact.
Yea, I think Purdue is likely done in the portal unless Edey or someone else leave which is possible. Maybe adding a 10 minute a game shooting specialist is something to think about? Not sure if those types exist anymore but 1 might be worth a shot if they’re all in for a role like that.

I would think we are done, unless Edey leaves. And not because we aren't dstill recruiting transfers but because we probably won't get a caliber of guard/wing we are targeting.

I don't think we fill that last scholarship just to fill it.

In that Regard, when will Edey decide? Not knowing makes decisions a little more difficult.

He’ll declare for the draft and has until May 31 to make everything official. Hopefully, mid May would be my guess?

Mid May is probably a good bet. We are at least in conversation with transfer bigs that are aware of our situation. I don't know who they are, or if any of them are waiting on Edey's decision as well. What i do know is if Edey leaves we will try to get a big.

The second one is sophomore year Crejghtpn guard, his freshman numbers not as good

The first set of stats…….Mr Smith …..freshman
It’s easy to forget just how good Smith was for most of the season because some of the struggles at the end, particularly against FAU. I think that he’s going to have a huge Sophomore season.

Yes, that’s why a Lance Jones works, however, at the 2, unless Coaches think Colvin is the other 2 option along with Loyer, and Heide/Morton/Gillis cover 3, then a high % sharp shooter needed

I definitely expect to see Smith and Jones play together some.

Colvin could play at the 2 or 3. Colvin is such a great athlete that I am hopeful, but I’m mindful that as a true freshman he’ll have his ups and downs. Best case, he has a Jaden Ivey type freshman year, but we certainly can’t count on that.

Agree. Sometimes players make the biggest jump between years 1 and 2. He seems like the type of hoops-smart player that will do just that.

I’d be very much in favor of recruiting over Smith if Painter can find a 6’4 ball handler who can get their own shot. You’ll just have to pay for him in the portal.
Find him and pay him. Stop whining about it and take control of your own happiness.

We don't need him to score 15 ppg, just make a couple of athletic plays that ignite the crowd and get us some "easy" baskets. That stuff takes pressure off the starters too.

Your response of “ok big shooter, pony up the big $ and get that player” is getting pretty tired.
Can you come up with something new Lil Feller.
Not as tired as the constant whining about the John Wall/Tyrese Halliburton clone that you want someone to buy for Purdue.
