When Smith or Edey plays off their man and packed it in in the paint, it is about as close to a zone as we will likely see.
IU is complaining about the officiating but the issue wasnt officials it was their lack of offense. They could not hit an outside shot. How many times did Purdue let them (dare them) to shoot a wide open shot?
Purdue just provided the game plan for every team that plays IU next...make IU beat you from the outside. Until then, hybrid-zone it up and pack the paint.
