Karlaftis was going with our without Brohm. I expect Walter’s to exceed Brohm soon.Katlaftis. Certainly over the average anybody else has put in the league besides Tiller
Should Brohm get credit for Kane or should Walter’s? He did have his best year under Walter’s. Didn’t think he was an NFL guy tbh. Shocked me. Brohm and walters each get a half a point.Kane was a Brohm recruit but I’m sure you want want to give him credit for that
But I bet you wouldn’t give Brohm credit for Bentley in the same ilk.Should Brohm get credit for Kane or should Walter’s? He did have his best year under Walter’s. Didn’t think he was an NFL guy tbh. Shocked me. Brohm and walters each get a half a point.
Brohm also recruiting Jenkins and Yanni, but Walters actually utilized them in a way to give them a chance at the NFL. Is that Brohm or Walters?
Bentley was a stud before Brohm showed up? Holt put Bentley in a position to succeed. Had his best year under Holt. So did Brohm solely get him to the league? Or did Marcus Freeman build him to have that great final year? But I bet you wouldn’t give Brohm credit for Bentley in the same ilk.
I get it. You’re in love with Walters. Why, we’ll never know.
Why would Nyland Green need to play against ISU? Oh, look after ISU, we have that tough game against BYE.The other poster was correct. You don’t play a defense where you give bad CBs no help.
I see Nyland Green is already hurt. Excuses coming in 3…2…
Nobody suggested a completely different scheme…bud adjusting the one you are running to better hide your shortcomings is a step
He’s really attached to the first few games of last year. Why would Nyland Green need to play against ISU? Oh, look after ISU, we have that tough game against BYE.
🤔. Maybe there’s a reason he is being held out.
Just to confirm @pboiler18, you do not want to actually discuss anything and understand my position?Bentley was a stud before Brohm showed up? Holt put Bentley in a position to succeed. Had his best year under Holt. So did Brohm solely get him to the league? Or did Marcus Freeman build him to have that great final year?
You didn’t really answer my question. How come you never answer mine? Maybe you could learn why I like Walter’s more than Brohm if you actually tried to have a discussion. You consider that?
I should ask you since I haven’t asked yet. Why are you so insistent on Walter’s as a failure because of what he did in the first half of his first season in his first head coaching gig?
You don’t have a positionJust to confirm @pboiler18, you do not want to actually discuss anything and understand my position?
I’ve actually said none of that. Not have I twisted anything. Please show me where I said there above and where I have twisted. You don’t have a position
Youve decided that anybody who was good here under Brohm would have come here anyways. (Like Dillon Thineman wouldn’t have come played for Brohm. lol).
You’ve decided that anybody who went to the league who was recruited by a different staff was only good because it was a different staff.
You’ve decided that Brohm recruits are only good now because somebody else is coaching them now and not because they are older, bigger, faster and stronger when they were as upper class men.
I understand your position. No need to debate anybody who thinks they are already right and twists a narrative any chance they get.
There really isn’t an argument. It’s one person making claims. Claims using “statistics” that can’t be proven. Claims about coaches. And claims about me that are false. All i’m asking is money where the mouth is. And every time, I’m let down. Throwing words in my mouth though…. That’s just dumb. This is a really tiring argument.
Karlaftis doesn't count 18. He was coming to Purdue no matter who the coach was.........tic.Katlaftis. Certainly over the average anybody else has put in the league besides Tiller
Sorry,18. CRW coached up Kane so he doesn't count........Kane was a Brohm recruit but I’m sure you want want to give him credit for that
Didn’t say this.Karlaftis doesn't count 18. He was coming to Purdue no matter who the coach was.........tic.
Didn’t say this. I gave Brohm and Walters credit on Kane.Sorry,18. CRW coached up Kane so he doesn't count........
Yeah, time for these two to agree to disagree and move on. Back to talking about the OL!what's the big deal if someone likes the coach at Purdue , and thinks he will do better his 2nd year, especially after it being his first time as a head coach, with other things added in such as OL should be better. Is it that bad that someone likes someone that you don't? Lets see how the season goes.
Funny I didn't read that anywhere. Was it posted in invisible ink? lolSorry,18. CRW coached up Kane so he doesn't count........
I’m fine disagreeing with him. Was just trying to understand and instead, made claims about things I never said. Is what it is….Yeah, time for these two to agree to disagree and move on. Back to talking about the OL!
Dense again. YouI’m fine disagreeing with him. Was just trying to understand and instead, made claims about things I never said. Is what it is….
OL is gonna be really good. Wasn’t great last year due to injuries, but the offensive staff did really well with what they had. Pass blocking needs to be better though. They have size and depth. Haven’t had that since???
Dense again. You
Literally gave everybody but Brohm credit for Bentley. Said Katlaftis would have come here no matter the coach and said Brohm had 1 guy drafted into the NFL on D where the board gave you 5 others.
Again, we get your agenda. Sad that people are buying it.
Walters is our coach. We are stuck for at least 16 more months with him. I hope he wins enough games between now and then that it’s entertaining and we do t have to fire him.
From what I’ve seen…not hopeful. Speaking of Hope…was not a fan of him but I’d take him over this coach.
No. I said karlaftis would have gone, Aka gone pro, regardless of who his coach was. Brohm did good to bring him in.Dense again. You

Agreed, it wasn't written anywhere. I was anticipating your next weak response.....Funny I didn't read that anywhere. Was it posted in invisible ink? lol
This is looking like the best OL at Purdue since???
Adding Stewart and Wingfield, Moussa and Mbow now in year 3, Hartwig back. Plus the depth guys that were brought in. I'm having a hard time thinking of a better group in recent memory. Starting to really talk myself into this offense taking a big leap.
Wow! You were so right. Our Defense was stellar yesterday including our "All American" safety and our top 50 DB (oh wait he has not yet played with 1/6th of the season behind us). Walters scheme is PERFECT for the personnel we currently have on our roster.Yes our defense gave up way to many big plays. Well documented.
Question. Which defense had a player with most sacks in the B1G? How about 3rd most sacks.
Which defense had a freshmen all American at safety? PFF grade off the charts? Hmmm.
Did you know Nyland Green was ranked top 50 player in the country in his recruiting class? You might not care because this does not fit your narrative.
Thought the WR separation was pretty good actually. OL struggled with the blitz for sure. Luckily, we won’t see a better defense than ND….Wow! You were so right. Our OL and WR corps also shined yesterday. The separation that our WR's achieved was stellar and the OL run and pass blocking were vastly improved over last season.
What a great effort!
The WR's caught 7 passes yesterday for a total of 85 yards. 53 of those yards came on one play when their third team Def was in.Thought the WR separation was pretty good actually. OL struggled with the blitz for sure. Luckily, we won’t see a better defense than ND….
Also thought the pass defense was good. The issue was Purdue got punched in the mouth in the trenches. Can’t win that way. We’ve seen that with every coach at Purdue over the past 20 years.
Good news is we won’t see a defense or DL as good as ND’s other than maybe OSU. Purdue was completely out matched. WR’s were open. Card don’t have time. The WR's caught 7 passes yesterday for a total of 85 yards. 53 of those yards came on one play when their third team Def was in.
We are going to see the blitz moving forward from every tem we play. Perhaps on every down. We are also going to see the run shoved down our throat until we can prove that we can stop it.
According to Gus, this is the best Purdue Offensive Line since he has been at Purdue.
Agree here. The OL issues seemed to be systematic. Only lousy play I saw was Josh sales. There were some miscommunication and some of the bad blocking was from Mockobee and tight ends. It also seemed like guys were too easily to let the pocket push back especially Mbow where we were backpedaling even before we engaged on passing downs. We need TEs and RBs to protect our QB on these blitzes.Thought the WR separation was pretty good actually. OL struggled with the blitz for sure. Luckily, we won’t see a better defense than ND….

Ya. The physicality severely lacked. I think part of it was just the fact that ND was on game three and Purdue had played a half. Combination of coaching errors, week 1 type mistakes, and simply out matched.Agree here. The OL issues seemed to be systematic. Only lousy play I saw was Josh sales. Bad news is we may have 2-3 better opponents still left on the schedule.Good news is we won’t see a defense or DL as good as ND’s other than maybe OSU. Purdue was completely out matched. WR’s were open. Card don’t have time.
Ya. But we knew that going in. Nothing about the schedule changesBad news is we may have 2-3 better opponents still left on the schedule.
We won’t win those games but this was a nightmare matchup for us.Bad news is we may have 2-3 better opponents still left on the schedule.
We have 5 ranked opponents left to play this season......plus we play Wisconsin who we haven't beaten since I can't remember when.Bad news is we may have 2-3 better opponents still left on the schedule.
And I wouldn’t expect to beat any of them. I would say we have 4 winnable games - and 3 are on the road. at Oregon state, home vs NU, at MSU, and at Indiana. If we can escape this season with 3 wins, we will be in good shape. Reality is finally seeking in for the people who thought we would win 5-7 games, the people who didn’t look at our schedule and pick which games we could or should win, and the same people who thought the transfer portal improved this team.We have 5 ranked opponents left to play this season......plus we play Wisconsin who we haven't beaten since I can't remember when.
If the fans know this (especially the part about the QB), then the coaches need to scheme better against it because obviously then know it as well.We won’t win those games but this was a nightmare matchup for us.
1. Those guys were out to get blood after last week
2. Large physical running qb is our kryptonite on defense
3. Physical blitzing front 7 is our kryptonite to our offense
And we just weren’t ready. I hope we get similar response for other games as ND did after their embarrassing loss.
It wasn’t schematic. The big play they had at the beginning was due to Thieneman coming in to get the QB sneak. You can only scheme out of so many weaknesses. On 3rd downs when we dropped on zone and knew he wasn’t running we did very good.. We are just going to Match up better agains some teams over others. It’s like the people that wanted paint fired because he wouldn’t play zone.If the fans know this (especially the part about the QB), then the coaches need to scheme better against it because obviously then know it as well.
