O$U won by 1 point in Columbus over Akron and IU won by 6 over EMU in Bloomington. IU missed a ton of three-point shots (like 20, shooting 4 of 24.) Both did not look very strong.

They only beat Eastern Michigan by 6 and couldn't even break 70 points in doing so. For a program that is supposed to be 'back' they sure do still suck. Did they hand out rings again?

I made the mistake of reading that thread. There's basically 2 level headed ones in the bunch, and the rest make me think twice about stepping out of my house.
I had to laugh at how positive the local news here in Indy was about it. "They lead by 20 at one point" They completely glossed over the final score and that they about blew a 20 point lead. You would've sworn they absolutely blew EMU out. The early season hype train for them is running full steam ahead towards the cliff.
And those things will only feed the delusion of that fanbase.

I watched the game, IU was a missed in and out 3 point shot away from being tied. They looked decent in the first half, atrocious in the second half. Just 1 game but they looked worse than last year where IU started strong early.

Are most of the people on that board juvenile delinquents? The content reads like musings of a bunch of angry, brooding teenagers, with intellect to match. Between angry anti-Purdue rants on the gap-tooth board, I picture most of them spending their time spray painting graffiti on rail cars.
There were a few surprisingly closer games/almost upsets. In addition to Arkansas and Ohio State, 15th-ranked Houston needed a late three to force overtime and ultimately survived coming back from double digits in the second half to defeat the Hofstra Pride.
This is going to be an interesting season - love that the fans/crowds are back!
