NOJEL EASTERN

He was there , And your match up will be a 7 pm tonight the PG match up will be a wash IMO advantage McCutcheon .
ya know I'm a bachelor tonight and just may make that trip. I'll look for you in the cubs hat and say hello if I can see you...and maybe sit at half across from the scorekeeper if able or anyplace not too crowded? Maybe get a bite at Cheddars in the bar before? My pic is roughly one year old and always like to put monikers with face if possible. I know the asst A.D. at Jeff (Tom Miller-really good wrestling coach) for a while and maybe see him for a minute? If you don't have teh cubs hat...I'll try to get close to that area and maybe you can recognize me? It is taxes right now and so this might be a nice break...

Would somebody compare Isaiah to PJ, concerning their size and ability, please?
Isaiah is taller that is all I know. I never saw PJ in high school other than video...someone else much more knowledgeable will have to fill in the other

I have read that's Isaih is bigger, more athletic, and a better shooter. Those that have seen him play say he is the real deal. Not to mention, he had Purdue coaches and some Purdue players at their sectional game.

What's his approximate height? 5'11, 6'0? Does it look like his wingspan is greater than his height? P.J.'s a good shooter, so that's high praise.

just curious

I think they said 6'1 in shoes, but a legit 6'1. Not sure on wingspan. Isaih is a scorer in his current role. He has been a good leader already. Phinisee and Thomas squared off today and Phinisee got the better of him and the W. Isaih has some room to improve, but he has a lot of talent and Purdue seems to be very actively recruiting him. He is currently a top 150, but he may move up as he goes into his senior year. Who knows, he may even grow another inch. I don't think he looks anything like his brother and PJ seems shorter and stockier compared to him. Thompson is definitely somebody to keep an eye on though. A very nice player already.

Well, I went to the game last night, but one time would never be an effective appraisal even if I could project who might end up being the best. Before the game I caught an asst. principal at Zionsville that was a PG under Larry Angle back in the 80s and he asked me what I was doing at this game. I told him I wanted to see the two players in question and we talked for a few(he is married to a brother-in-laws...brother's daughter) about the teams. McCutcheon has won the last three or so meetings during the season and sectional last year. I think I could say with some confidence that McCutcheon is the better team and Phinisee has a better supporting cast and would win any series between the two.
That said, I moved to the second row up the upper section and found my view blocked by people that came to the game to buy popcorn, nachos and a chance for the kids to run around in a confined area for free baby-sitting as they walked back and forth. ;)
Okay, both teams played some zone. Not knowing the players on each team it was more difficult to actually see what was happening on D since you can't make the offensive player cut and such to see how the D follows them. Zionsiville basically matched up out of a 2-3 until the last quarter or so when they played some man. McCutcheon almost appeared to play a triangle and 2, but after a few possessions it appeared they just played their zone with the top extended to see if they could get a few steals and the back was in a fairly tight triangle...again, not knowing the players and if they don't shift the D...
Okay...since the players never actually went against each other until the 4th quarter there wasn't a lot to see between the players. Before the game I was told that Phinisee was the better athlete, but remember he is a year older as well. He was clearly more developed physically than Isiah who was frail looking...totally unlike a stocky PJ. Phinisee played with the ball in his hands and until the fourth quarter Isiah did not...he played off the ball. Phinisee shot better on the perimeter than my impressions were previously as I had him as more of a driver with my very limited viewing. Here is a link with some video of the game http://www.jconline.com/story/sport...mccutcheon-3-peats-sectional-champs/98664164/
The only thing I guess this guy in the dark was surprised was that Isaiah seemed to be able to stay with Phinisee on the perimeter and was quicker than I thought. So we have a junior on one team and a soph on another team and it may come down to players already at Purdue as to what these players do. Also, seeing isaiah play off the ball was a little surprising...not knowing anything about the team. Zionsville did put the ball in his hands more in the fourth which also tells you something.

I think they are both around 6', but Phinisee is clearing more mature and physically developed...which suggests a higher down the road physical growth in Isiah than Robert. Not knowing the teams, I thought the two would go at each other through the game, but it ended up with Isiah only guarding Phinisee the last quarter. I think Robert is the better ball handler at this time, but he handles it all the game and Isaiah played most the game off teh ball...and again a Soph that is frail...may really mature in the next year or two. I also think it is safe to say that Robert is the better player at this time, but I qualify that with a better supporting cast as well. What I would not suggest is that if Purdue had their choice of only ONE that Robert would be the one. Purdue knows the family of Isaiah and PJ and so there is some comfort level already there and Isiah is REALLY frail with a body that will mature more than Robert's in teh next few years I would imagine. I'm as blind as all in assessing these two in only seeing one game and them really not going against each other, being in different grades, a disparity in supporting casts, one handling the ball all game and the other 1/4 the game. I've been fooled many times with one game views. In the video 11 is isaiah in green adn phinisee 10 in white

Which one of them makes their team and teammates better to a higher degree: Phinisee or I. Thompson?
