He is just tired like the rest of us, habitually losing to superior guard play vs all those non-basketball crazy schools/states (NU, fdu, ark little, vcu, north tx, rutgers, peacocks team etc.....)

This is my prediction as well. Even with a 1 seed we’re not going any further. Other than a fluke year with carsen making a historic tournament scoring run, painter has shown time and again that the sweet 16 is his ceiling. Bringing in catchings and Harris will continue to help upgrade our wing and guard talent, but those issues should have been addressed years ago.

Outside of Injuries, what team should have gone further than what they did? Obviously t
he losses to Arkansas Little Rock, FDU, North Texas and Saint Peter’s come to mind. How far does each of those teams go actually if they don’t lose?

Last year, S16 was ceiling, however not sure we would have beat FAU in second round.

Saint Peters, we probably would have lost to a really hot UNC team, even though we beat them earlier that year.

Ark LR- maybe we get to S16 but we probably lose to UVA (the 1)

North Texas - maybe S16, but we for sure weren’t beating that Baylor team with those guards and how undisciplined we were.

UVA - one ft make (from cline) in closing seconds or one rebound away from F4 maybe even a NC appearance due to the heater Carsen was on. This team exceeded beyond expectations.

Would we feel better if we had one more E8 and a couple more S16s?

We were also a basket away from getting knocked out in the s16 and not advancing if not for that insanely lucky foul that was called.

Exactly. You need a little bit of luck on your side in the second weekend, no matter who you are. Hope we can get there and get some of that luck this year.

Hello brother well lose to a top 10 vs someone not ranked for starters

So we can only lose to ranked teams? Man that’s why we love sports—the upsets. Also, these are still 18-22 yo kids that are human and have off nights…I almost think it’s better if we take a loss or a few now and have that pressure off by tournament time. Need this team to play relaxed and not tense. They will have tons of pressure on them in the first weekend this year as everyone will be talking about the 16 loss again and all eyes will be on the team to see if they fold again, so anything to help alleviate that pressure is ok.
