this is the guy we should go after. Currently 8 - 1 and soon to be 9 - 1 . Coaches at a tough place to recruit has an explosive O . Their Soph QB John Mateer from Texas is really good. He has 3 TD's and 270 passing in the 1st half. Dickert is a Wisconsin native so maybe he'll want to come back to the midwest

I loved Leach when he was at WSU & I would take a serious look at Dickert.
For those that think it’s tough to recruit at Purdue - try recruiting to Pullman WA.
Heck, try to find it on a map!

They lost to New Mexico yesterday. Who has he beat? He’s played 1 good team and lost by 21. Washington state plays in basically the mac now. Last year he was 2-7 when he was in the pac. He rose to fame as he was next man up after they fired the rest of the staff for refusing to follow covid protocol. If we are going to poach a proven head coach I’d rather pony up and get Klieman, Campbell, or even Narduzzi. If indiana can afford $9m a year plus Tom Allen’s buyout then we sure can too.

pass on Narduzzi, speaking of New Mexico they are coached by Bronco Mendenhall the other guy in my top 3. It's his first year at a moribound program and got them to 5 wins w/ one game to game. He signed a 5 yr 6 Mil contract so he'd be doable. He had a great record at BYU and did a good job at UVA, he's a tough coach and would get rid of the softness surrounding our program

He retired from coaching once out of the blue. There are people criticizing bobo for hiring someone who clearly wanted to go to Louisville. Hiring someone who just abruptly retired once doesn’t seem sustainable

nothing wrong w/ taking time off to reboot one's career, Locksley coached there and was 2 -26 and got a job at Maryland. It's Bronco's first year there ( a pathetic program) and got them at 5 -6 so far, this is the kind of coach we need

I would think if Walters was going to be fired, it would have happened already. He’s about to lose another recruit and yet, there are not even any rumors of him leaving.

I have to believe he will remain until the season ends. I also have to believe Purdue will wait until the NIL. Ruling is finalized. If you are Purdue and forced to compensate previous athletes, it may be hard. To find the money to buy out Walters.

I see a lot of posts that say if IU can spend so much money, so can Purdue. People tend to forget Purdue was spending a lot of money on facility upgrade projects. Purdue could be cash strapped.

What about the last Wazzu coach who got fired for not getting the Covid shot ?

lose another recruit ? who is that?

I dont mind a defensive coach that has a clear understanding of what his offense is and what everyone is supposed to be doing.

Interesting. Nick Rolovich is his name. Seems like a guy that knows how to put up points. Coached at HI before WSU. Did diekert just continue to use the same offense?

the guy went 99 - 43 at BYU in 11 seasons including 5 10 win seasons, 11 straight bowl appearances, 7 top 25's. Currently has a 140 - 87 career record , yea he's a proven defensive minded coach but now at N Mex the team ranks #5 in the country in rushing and #7 in total Offense.. He demands toughness out of his players and w/ a coach like him you wouldn't have the garbage we saw this past saturday w/ opposing players running around untouched. Actually the more I read about him , I'd put him along w/ Silverfield above Dickert

That’s fine but when he retires in 3 years and Campbell and Klieman are killing it for a whole nother generation will you feel the same?

Same reason I wouldn’t hire a 68 ‘em year old basketball coach or give a 63 year old wirh 1 win against a winning team an 8 year extension.
