I think this may be the link to the stream:

I'm in the Seattle area, so the game's at midnight local time... my older son and I are contemplating watching live - hope that link works. If there's a better bet for watching the game, please reply. It'll be the first of these WUG games we've seen. What a great event for the team to be a part of!

Anybody else going to be up in the wee hours watching?

Boiler Up!

This game is frustrating to follow. Israel is completely keeping Purdue from using their size as an advantage. If not for hot shooting on the outside, this would be a blowout.

Carsen is playing like a grown man. My goodness. Vince was carrying the team in the first half, but Carsen is doing everything to keep Purdue in it for the second half. I am concerned that we haven't found a way to get the big fellas more involved. It's been a strength through the tournament and teams like Butler double up just the same. At least Purdue is taking advantage of what that opens up, outside shooting.

8 three pointer for Carsen. Maaaaaaaaan. This is supposed to be a down year for Purdue? Purdue has guard play like they haven't had since the baby boilers. Purdue is a very dangerous team when that outside shot is falling. Goodness.

Israel just got 4 points in 20 seconds when Ourdue was up by 5 with a minute to go. Yikes. That is a very good team. Purdue has got to be smart here.

Carsen was incredible. He had a turnover law that could have been bad, but blocks a three and then gets a late rebound. Wow. What a special player. Team USA got carried when they needed him most.

And when I was typing everything fell apart. Carsen misses a ft, they go to the line, sink one and then rebound it for the tying bucket. Being a Purdue fan is stressful.

Well worth getting up at 3am. Best game of the WUG.

Israel is a heck of a basketball team. It as if they have played together for years. Incredible chemistry. It is easy to see why they were a favorite. A tough draw though, and they get knocked out in the quarters. Great game. Purdue showed a lot of poise here and that bodes well for the season and tournament time. This could be a very special year.

Carsen was hitting ridiculous contested threes and just went crazy. He made some mistakes, but we lose this game by 20 without him.

They should get back on the floor and shoot 1000 free throws. Got to hit more than 64%. I'll take the win though. Israel is really really good.

I'd like to know how many points-in-the-paint Israel had. I only caught the 2nd half, but they seemed to be slicing us up.

Felt like they couldn't miss. Lots of backdoor layups and some circus shots. Looked more like the YMCA old-timers on some of those shots... and I mean that as a compliment.

Have to get Haas more than 4 total shots. Whether that was due to good defensive schemes from Israel or not, need to be able to space the floor more so the double teams are more difficult for teams to use. What I mean is leaving proper spacing between the players and not standing around as is typical for Purdue when the ball goes inside...consistent and continually movement so that if he double does go to the center, the open man is easy to find.

Can't let another team have that kind of shooting night and expect to win...two more games to gold!

This. This film will be studied by every Purdue team this year. But by the time it happens, hopefully Purdue will have figured it out. But it's a great win, and it also shows that when the shooting is good, this team will win even if Haas is shut down.

BTW, besides the uncharacteristic TOs, PJ had great stats.

Israel was fantastic at movement without the ball. There was always someone slicing down the lane with another off ball high screen cutter following right behind. There coach was constantly yelling "Atheq! Atheq!". Not sure what that means;).
That was a a damn good and well coached basketball team. Fun game!

Haas had limited shots because of the doubles and triples. The spacing was pretty good and we did have lots of open shooters as evidenced by 20 three pointers.
Agree that the D will need to get better. It will.

Same thing with the signs in the stands:

wow starters relied upon to carry the load in this one
This game pointed out just how important experience is. Every new player to the team who played struggled.
At this point in time, this team has a 7 maybe 8 man rotation at its core. By the end of the year there will be two more that can really help.

And again, although never ideal.....CMP has more flexibility than most to handle foul trouble.

Great composure in overtime after Israel sent it into OT with the unexpected rebound and 2 pointer to tie it with 0.9 to go in regulation! We really wanted this one! Well earned! Thought we played really well! Proud of these guys! Can't wait for the regular season to begin!

Carsen shot well and dished well, but boy I wish he would have used the clock more with seconds to go in the regulation becasue it wouldn't have went to OT most likely. My worry is Vince and his ankle and how it does after sleeping on it. I know he played, but his second half was not as physical..other than perhaps his block which required great lift...his boards and scoring inside was just fighting. Anyway, before this game I was VERY impressed with Vince playing so athletic...in pushing the ball and his rebounding. Once the injury I didn't think he pushed the ball as before. This is concerning to me. I think Purdue has some work on D as well as some work in "moving" on O through the lane (I realize not a lot of time on the clock) as well as understanding the crucial nature of each play as teams get better. I hope the next game is not as tough and allows another 24 hours for Vince if he truly needs more time.
