No loss is a good loss, but this is ok, underdog, on the road, show the type of fight we need for the toruney in the 2nd half. We could go on a huge run after this loss, pissed of Purdue will be a good Purdue.
Side note, 33/18 with 3 blocks for Edey in a extreme hostile environment. Too many turnovers like you said, but holy shit does he look toruney ready. The young guards learned allot today though.
We have done that in many games this year but only two have been too much. Bad habit that needs to change FAST.
Tough atmosphere to come back from but they showed a hell of a fight in the 2nd half to make it a game. To’s and missed free throws were the difference. Safe to say Eddy still dominated TJD!

Yes - Iowa playing well, taking down Illinois today. That does help Purdue, as now Rutgers is only 4-loss team......Boilers up two games in the loss column. Hopefully, this helps down the line - not a totally unexpected loss but a tough one, nonetheless. Smith usually bounces right back from sub-par games, so we shall see.

Second half was certainly better, but a couple of those late came at a crucial point in the game when Purdue was right there. You just can't give a good team that much of a head start, especially on the road.
Still.....who had Purdue @ 11-2, 22-2 overall at this point in the season? Hopefully, they put this behind them. Rutgers @ Indiana coming up should be interesting.
And hopefully they never want to experience this again in Ass Hall and go on a 7-game win streak against Indinia.

Close enough that won’t fall much in polls with other top teams losing in last week, close game with loosiers losing this week they likely fall out of top 25, Painter has enough talking points from this game to last the rest of the year, now use this debacle to finish the year strong, should be good preparation for a nice payback on the 25th (and you know what they say about paybacks). Yes it will be called an “upset“ which says which program is better. And in head to head Zach had better numbers so BIG POY and national POY may have been decided.

I agree. In the long run I think it will be good for the freshmen to have had to deal with this level of adversity. I think that they’ll be better for it.

Smith got outplayed by a 5 star kid that will be in the NBA soon, he’ll be fine. Like I thought, lots of of overreacting over a loss that many including Vegas expected. Purdue battled back, in the end IU deserved to win, the Boilers will be fine.
Watching this again on BTN to punish myself. I can’t believe he got away with the chest bump. If it were someone else, it would have been called.
