How Many Days Has It Been Since iu Defeated Purdue in BB?

I see this thread is growing a little and starting to sprout. We have our young friends with the blanket and talk of celebration spirits to spruce up the thread. And now, drum roll please, the announcement that is the heart and soul of this thread. It is 1794 days since the IU basketball team has won a game over our Purdue Men's Basketball team. Party on.

May the Monday tradition continue for many months and years!

It will be interesting to see what the point spread is for the game in Mackey. Vegas missed big time with the Purdue +4 at Ass Hall. Barring injuries or anything crazy, I think the Mackey game could be one where Purdue comes out on fire from 3 and iu is buried by the 12 minute mark of the first half. Similar to what we did to teams like Iowa, MSU, UVA and a few others last year.

Today is the 25th of January in the fine year of 2021. That date signals the run of days since the Purdue Men's Basketball team lost a game to IU has reached 1801. There are some other positive personal things going on such as the confirmation of a purchase of new casters for my office chair. But 1801 days is the positive news that all Boiler fans can smile at. And then all other fans can ?????????????? at, Sorry, don't hate. There is so much in life to bring a smile.

1801 days, Ivey wins FOTW honors, and you get new castors! It's a good day to be a Boiler! :D

OK, it is Monday, time for the update. There is good news and bad news. First the bad news is that the casters didn't fit. More time on the phone with the manufacturer from Iowa to see what can be done. The rest is good news. First, Newman is again Freshman of the Week for B10 men's basketball. And the best for last, the number of days since a loss to IU for our beloved Purdue Men's Basketball Team is now 1808.

One week has passed since the last post. This is a big week for me. Had a teeth cleaning today and the dentist is extremely pleased with the health of the gums. No cavities and all the crowns and implants are glistening in the light of the exam room. Then I get the second round of COVID vaccine on Thursday. I anticipate that I will get some aggravation after since many are reporting that happened to them. Now let's get down to business reporting a steak by the Purdue Men's Basketball team. It has now been 1815 days since they lost a basketball game to IU. Carry on.

1815 days. >yawn<
Another FOTW award
2nd week in the Top 25
Clean bill of health from the dentist

I don't want to ruin the streak, but how are the casters?

Hi Andy. Thanks for posting and adding the "like" to my post above. It is special that someone on this chat board would remember something unique to an individual and mention it. Your the best. So, now to answer your question about the casters. And this could take as long as something from my other friend, BAM BAM.

The company that made my chair is HON and they are from Iowa. So my take on that is that HON is using Hawkeyes to fill their job titles. They have sales people, and engineering staff and some managers to go along with the people that do the work like house keeping and shipping.

My first effort was to convince the sales person to check further in the company resources than just say the product was discontinued and good bye. I had to convince her that there had to be something at HON that would work because it isn't a good ROI to just re-engineer a product when it has made the company plenty of profits. I even gave her some dimensions of what I needed and she went to engineering with the information.

Time passed and I called again. This time I was talking to another in the same department and she decided to take on the task and got information from engineering that they do have a replacement product that will fit. So I got a quote and started the purchase process. That died when I learned that they don't accept Discover for payment.

My next move was to engage with a HON dealer in Indy to see if they could get the item and accept my Discover for payment. That worked but very slowly. They even doubled the price of the item so they could get their share. I had to pay shipping so I had them drop ship to my residence.

The item received was smaller than the original, so it didn't fit. I went back to HON to see if there was a mistake. Then I got a different person to help and it was determined that they had picked the wrong item to fill my order. A new delivery was set up and I waited 5 calendar days for a one day delivery. It arrived today. the new casters have been installed on the chair and I am spinning in delight.

The lesson learned here is that it takes a Boilermaker to assist OMHR in attaining success. Yes, I embellished that a little, but I am trying to look at the humor in a transaction like this. I would be falling on the floor or spending around $300 to replace this chair without having the tenacity and "not letting someone tell me no" character traits of a well rounded Boilermaker. Sort of like this thread describing the time it takes to get our other rival to gain success. Patience is Golden.

(*Now I'm glad I didn't ask about the garage door...*)

It is Monday and time for an update on things from the past week. Since Purdue85 asked in his very subtle way, it includes a report on the infamous garage door. Wait, this isn't necessary because the garage door has not been an issue. Courthouse Carp covered that in amazing videos several pages back so they are there for your reference if you care. But this is also a time to recognize Purdue 85 as he demonstrates an ability to put screen name with style of post and content complete with knowledge of the individual behind that screen name. That ability is a compliment this time and deserves a compliment in his direction for alertness. Also, it is time to recognize and salute Mr. Carp for sharing his ability to cut to the chase with video that truly represents my forum friend, the BamBam. So this forum is so full of love for all humans, I would be remise to not show our love to our alumni and fan friends down south. The run of days since the Purdue Men's Basketball team lost a game to IU is now at 1822. And BamBam, you can take a deep breath and relax.

Monday again and time to update some things as time is marching on, sort of like the Purdue All American Marching Band. Your know, I miss those guys and gals. They do a wonderful job entertaining the entire world with fitting music. And now the full number of days since IU has beaten our Purdue Men's Basketball Team is 1829, and still marching on. Sort of like the PAAMB. That is music to my ears.

Today is Mar 1 and a few days after my birthday. I am so old that dirt was clean when I was born. So lets look to see if there are any other Mile Stones to report to this favorable Boilermaker crowd. Ummmmmmm. Yes, it has now been 1836 days since our wonderful men's basketball team lost a game to our little brothers down south.

what is a "milestone" to one is a "millstone" to another... 🤣

What a coincidence!........ Its been approximately that long since an Indiana Mr. Basketball went to Purdue(Swanigan).....

Weird thing though............ the Hoosiers drought hasn't hurt their abiliity to bring home the state's best player(s). Is it IU? Or more a Purdue thing? Hmmmmm.....

Oh, and if it wasn't for Caleb...... man.......... we're talkin' Glenn Robinson. Some of you weren't even on the planet... let that one sink in....

McHoop

Which is really sad for all those H.S. Mr. Basketballs... Imagine working that hard to be the best then ending up at IU where all that talent was wasted since there was no one there who could help them develop.

I agree. And doesn't it show something about the intelligence of these IU fans when they bring it up?

"Oh yeah?! Well, maybe we can't beat you, but we sure as heck have a lot more talent than you!"

This thread may live on for many years with the talent we have on our roster, and the talent we have coming in.

I think the title of the thread may have to go from days to the number of years, because the number of days calculation might crash a server here soon.

Big week for the Boilers, winning a couple games to finish off the regular season. The last game was another win over IU with Zack Edey performing very well. His performance solidified the FPOTW award, the second time he has won it. So now three of our Freshmen, including the red-shirt freshmen, have won the award multiple times this season. The train is rolling and has just passed another station. And this station was located at Mile Marker Post 1843. By the way that number is also the number of days since the Purdue Men's Basketball team has lost to IU!

The Purdue Men's Basketball team had a streak come to an end over the weekend at the B1G Tournament. They had won 5 games in a row to finish the regular season, but lost to OSU in their first tournament game. So now it is time to start a new streak. And the magic number for that streak is 6. Time will tell if they can accomplish that. And there is another streak in play that is continuing to grow. It is now 1850 days since our mighty team lost to IU. And that number will grow quit a bit till there is a chance it will end.

There are a lot of fans that have lost their minds during this NCAA Men's Basketball tournament. That is the meaning of the name, March Madness. That is so true of a lot of Purdue fans as they have waivered from firing the coach to wishing some players should not be on the team this coming season. I want to move to a different mind set that is more positive and based on a re-evaluation on the importance of the product.

Fans are very much a part of the current landscape of college sports because they pay the bills. That is done through donations to their college of choice, paying for tickets to see the games in person, paying for TV packages to watch the games at home, paying for blogs that post information about the team, paying for forums to post their own feelings about the results of the team's play, paying for school apparel, and several more. They do this because they are passionate about their school. This is a positive thing as long as it is done out of respect for others to not go over the top.

Passion for one's school is good if done in a way to support the school with recognition of what it means to the fan, the recognition of the place the school fits in society, and recognition of how school sports can further the perception of the school.

And we also must remember that school sports were created to further the learning and growing experience of the student body. These games are for the kids, initially. And fans are the life blood that keeps it alive.

So let us remember this. When you speak of Purdue University, their scholastic programs and their sports teams that so eloquently demonstrate great value and importance, you speak these words. You speak them firmly, you speak them proudly and you speak them loudly. I AM A PURDUE BOILERMAKER!

Also remember that there is a very important streak that is still going, and will for a long time. It has been 1857 days since the Purdue Men's Basketball team lost to IU.

Boiler up.

This one if for Boiler Andy. You asked how many days it has been since IU won a men's basketball game over the Purdue Boilermakers. The answer is 1864.

Thanks for the update, Inspector. There seems to be interest from people visiting from the other board in how big the number has grown, and I just couldn't remember. ;)

This will be short and sweet since I have a ton of stuff to do, but not more important than this. It has been 1871 day since the IU men's basketball team beat the Purdue University Men's Basketball team in a game. But later in the week, there may be more information to add. Stay tuned.

Maybe its been a long time since IU has beaten Purdue, but if you believe the Indy area media,Mike Woodson will have that elusive sixth banner for the Hoosiers very soon.We should all be scared to death.
True, and I am further shaken by the news that Barney has been hired as assistant coach.

But who will be the new assoc. AD in charge of watching Barney, and will that new assoc. AD report to the previous new assoc. AD in charge of watching Woody?

Could that new assoc. AD in charge of watching Barney be Larry Brown, Woody's buddy, who could also serve as a youth outreach associate AD and special advisor on NCAA rules?

It is all very scary, as you say, and getting more so all the time.

Here's my issues...
  1. Woodson has never coached college kids.
  2. Fife knows how to cheat from helping Izzo
  3. Woodson associated and friends with World Wide Wes.
  4. Wanted known cheater Larry Brown.
  5. Turned down by three other top coaches before Woody took the offer.

My guess....nothing much different will go on in Bloomington for a few years.

Well, if things go to spec, IU will suddenly get some kids that would otherwise go to those $blue$ $bloods$ that usually “help” the players’ families. Nothing to see here. Just have to outbid, opps, out recruit those Dukes and Kentuckys of this world.

This whole coaching debacle going on at IU right now is about as "frightening" as a popcorn fart in the wind. There is no reason to think our winning streak won't continue and that Woodson stands about as much of a chance of getting a sixth banner as us I do of Christie Brinkley showing up on my doorstep, naked and my wife saying "go for it honey, I'll hold your beer".
