How Many Days Has It Been Since iu Defeated Purdue in BB?

Once again, today has been full of things that needed completed and I did it all, including cutting the grass. Finished before full dark, but had the headlights on the garden tractor. I am not sure if the bulk of people reading this are becoming cavalier to the substance of this topic (see title above) or are too busy to open the board each day. There haven't been a lot of "likes" posted here, but there was a short effort to steal the thread and talk about, of all things, the new IU coach. So let's get back to the importance before our eyes that the number is growing and will not stop for a while. The number of days since the IU bunch has won a basketball game over the Purdue Men's Basketball team is now 1878.

How many days has it been since PU won a national championship in men’s basketball?

Humans are twice as sensitive to losses than equal sized gains. So although we have beaten IU 9 times in a row, to an IU fan it feels like 18!

Cutting the grass again today. Just before it snows tomorrow night. This Indiana weather is beyond prediction as we move into the strong parts of the spring. Surprised it hasn't rained more than it has. But time marches on and that is something that is true of prediction along with this other fact. It has been 1885 days since the IU squad has beaten the Purdue Men's Basketball Team in a game. And like time, this number will march on as well.

Even if IU and Purdue play this coming December, the streak will grow to about 2100 days before the Hoosiers have a chance to break it.

Odd coincidence, but isn't that the number of the year iu won its last national championship, or something close to it?

Clownpantzers keep talking about it since they don't have much to talk about in the current millennium - even though many of them were not alive when it happened. Living in the past and all that...

Wasn't the University of Chicago dominant in the Big 10 in football or basketball at one time? I don't remember. Kind of like most of the loosier fans trying to relive IU's history that they weren't even a part of.

It is Monday again. Comes around every week. And I am getting to this a little earlier than in the past several weeks. The question was asked if the last posted number of days (1885) was the same number of the year that IU last won a NC. That certainly isn't the case but will be in a little more than 13 weeks. I am glad the thread didn't take off into a loop of claims and arguments unrelated to the original title. We can update this with the number of "Dog Days" since IU has won a men's basketball game against our Purdue team (13,265 days). That equates to 36.34 doggy years. That is close to one generation of dogs. Oh well, here is a new number. 1892 and we will "know more tomorrow" when it then will be 1893.

1892. The year that Ellis Island opened.

Here it is Monday again and the first week of May. The pace is picking up as the temperature rises (sometimes). The sun has made an appearance signaling the ending our 6 months of clouds. I like the sun even though it plays pain on my skin. Never was able to do the suntan thing except on my forearms. They call that a "farmers tan". The pace has also picked up with AAU stuff and you can find some of that as it relates to Purdue Men's basketball on this site. And the pace of racing has picked up with fans in stands, just in time for the grand finale at the end of the month. Things are going well in Indiana as the COVID numbers decrease. Maybe the Indy mayor will take a look and see that he can reduce the mandating and begin doing real mayor work. There is a trend some people call a streak that is dancing on. And it doesn't really matter if you do a waltz, or the twist. I prefer the "Bump" that was popular during some of my collegiate days. It means we are bumping someone out of the way. We have been doing a pretty good job of that for the past 1899 days. That is the number of days since IU won a men's basketball game over our beloved Boilermakers.

Mr. Carp has done very well finding announcements of the current Purdue streak over IU in Men's basketball. And let it be known that the streak has now continued up to 1906 days. I wonder if there is something relating to that number that will further bring home the importance of these facts.
1906: Football rules committee legalizes forward pass.

IU fans don't remember that, either. ;)

WW I will take place in a little over a week with the subsequent signing of the Treaty of Versailles (errr......was that Ver-Sails?)

No, it was not an attempt to be logical, or condescending, nor was it an insult (any more than your posts have been).

Yes, a safe and excellent Easter to you, as well.
Please allow the IU fans on here that are convinced that their program is currently on par or above ours to continue to think and believe that! I am here to tell them all that they are absolutely correct, and if we could change places with them, we would do it in a heartbeat! They are in a great place, and heading for even greater places. That awesome hire of a brilliant basketball mind ( please disregard that he has been fired from every basketball related job he ever took, and that he has never recruited anybody for anything) he will be awesome.
They are still nationally relevant, and basically the best thing about basketball EVER! Congratulate them and I apologize that we are going into year 6 of our undefeated streak against them, I am sure it will end soon! Don't change a thing, you guys are the best!!

1913. Was that a year for anything? It is a pretty good number. Regardless, if there are any wonderful things related to 1913, none will be more important and significant than it is the number of days since IU has won a men's basketball game against the Purdue Boilermaker Men's basketball team.

That was a year of great social upheaval in Europe, after which some damn foolish thing in the Balkans set off a chain reaction that led to catastrophe. Otherwise, not much to remember about that year.

In 1913 an enormous storm hit the Midwest states - Ohio especially. Many bridges, roads and railroads were wiped off the face of the earth. Communities were stranded for weeks without transport in or out. Later, coffee table books were made with photos showing the devastation. 1913 was a bad year for the midwest.

Yes, I am late. So the new number is now 1921 on this last Tuesday in May. Anxiously awaiting the Indy 500 race. There are Purdue people in this event, but not in the driver category. Let's hope they all do well. And even better is that there will be around 135K paid spectators in attendance that will not be wearing masks. Things are improving dramatically.

And hundreds of thousands in the local hotels, restaurants, and sports bars -- mask-free.

Ever hear of the Flood of 1913? It devastated the Maumee River basin area. I remember my Grandparents talking about it because they lived it.

Indianapolis was hit hard by a flood in late March 1913,especially the West Side of town.

Today is Monday, the last day in May. I am not late this time to post the new number. But it is also a great time for the more senior individuals as we witnessed yesterday and the weekend prior. I attended the Indy 500 and it was special in many ways. You could see the excitement in the fans as soon as they arrived at the speedway. It was contagious to all. The ceremonies were very strong in support of those who gave great and ultimate sacrifices for the freedoms this country offers. All in attendance were very vocal in support of all the words offered to our servicemen. Nary a word of disrespect from young and old alike. This did more to bring all Americans together than anything I have seen from the lea..........................oh, nevermind. And we all enjoyed the race with common views as race fans. All one, so to speak. I haven't forgot about the number. It is just as special and brings a common bond to all Boilermakers everywhere and especially on this forum. It has been 1927 days since our men's basketball team lost a game to the IU team. Talk to you again next week.
