How Many Days Has It Been Since iu Defeated Purdue in BB?

No real story today. Well, I did travel to St. Louis last weekend to visit friends and enjoy one of my hobbies. Then went to a scheduled oil change for my car this morning. That stuff got me up early each day. But wait. There is a real story today. It has to do with a special number. A number that grows as the days pass by. And the number is 2109. All of you know what that number is and why it is a REAL story.
The longer the streak continues, the fewer visits from IU trolls. IU fans have been fewer and relatively well-behaved here. Only Trojan is trolling now on the football board, but she went insane way back around Day 613. I wonder why the football board triggered her.

I downplayed the importance of numbers last week in an attempt not to jinx our wonderful team of men's basketball players. But today is different in many ways. The sun is shining bright as I type this epic paragraph. And the planets have aligned to a very significant time for our team as the AP poll for Men's NCAA Basketball has Purdue on top with the number 1 ranking for the first time in history. And our team got all of the 1st place votes. The best time will be when our team wins that NCAA National Championship game, which might be coming along in the near future. And then it gets better. There is also a new number to celebrate, 2116. That is the number of days since IU has won a men's basketball game over our mighty team. It is a great, sunny day to be a Purdue Boilermaker.

Time for us to take a look at trends. Our team is playing well in the big picture. But we have been inconsistent in the last two games. The first this past week saw us loose a 10-point lead in the closing minutes. We retook the lead with a few seconds left only lost the game from a half-court shot. The same thing happened in the second game. But roll of the teams were reversed. We trailed by double digits in the last half of the game, only to rebound, force overtime and win in the overtime. The point being that the winner of both games came from 10 down to win in the end. And there is another trend that has been consistent for the last 2123 days. We have not lost a men's basketball fame to IU during that time.

Interesting. I've been following this thread for some time and I think I see a pattern. The time since IU has won a game of basketball against us seems to be trending higher. Each time the number if days reported is a little higher than last time. I keep wondering if it will hit 5 digits...

In the year 2123
If man is still alive
If woman can survive
...

Sure. It doesn't rhyme. But it's a great song and each verse gets better. I can't wait for verse #200.

2130. Yes, 2130. The number continues to grow and is now 2130. That is the number of days since IU won a men's basketball game from the Mighty Boilermaker team. That is 5.84 years or for those that don't understand, 40.8 doggy years. Wuff Wuff!!!!!

New Years Eve and New Years Day have come and gone. Some people have the day off today because their employment gives them this day since the holiday was on Saturday. Speaking of Saturday, how about "them Boilers" in football. All the cards staked against them and they won the Music City Bowl anyway. And with a "goal line stand" in overtime no less. Amazing! And one more thing is amazing in that it has been 2144 days since our Mighty Boilermaker Men's Basketball squad has lost a game to our IU rival. So many reasons to celebrate.

The new number this fine, sunny Monday morning is 2151. I spent a little time double checking the number last week. Sometimes I have senior moments and make errors in calculation, perception, anticipation and judgement. I mean that is a lot of numbers to be counting without taking off your shoes. Oh wait, we don't have to do that as Boilermakers are properly trained in computing and handling numbers in a variety of ways with many mathematical functions. The significance of this number is the number of days since the Purdue Men's Basketball Team lost to IU. The next chance to break the counting is coming up soon. Boiler Up everyone. This one might take a little extra to extend.

Well, I am shaking so hard right now I can not describe it. Our beloved men's basketball team has just finished a road game at Illinois who was rated 17th in the nation. I don't understand why I should have this issue as I should be very calm and holding full faith in my beliefs and commitments. Let's look at a thought that has little or no consideration. Purdue Men's basketball has now played 3 overtimes of winning basketball. If they play 5 more, the NCAA and the conference should give them and extra W in the win column. Well, that will never happen, but it leads us to the next game on Thursday, Jan 20 in the infamous Hall of Calls. Today the number of days since our team has lost to IU is 2158. It is time for our team to continue this streak of days by winning at IU. And now I am not shaking any more. Is that a sign of exciting things to come?

Today is 2161. How can any fellow Boilermaker doubt this is correct? We went to the moon on a slide rule. We know how to work with numbers without special tools. Did I just say that? Well, no harm to MandevilleLA and TopSecretBoiler on this. The mad scientist in me posts this every Monday as not to over-do it, creating many, many posts. Now that is out of the way, today is also the day that the Purdue Men's Basketball team comes to play and extend the streak. They must be strong and Mighty. They must trust the scouting report and do their jobs as assigned by the coaches. Let's have great faith in this group as they embark on this task. Boiler Up and Hammer Down. Hail Purdue!

2162 days of glory. Well, 43 days until sweet vengeance. Tre Williams needs to bottle his anger from tonight and unleash it all at once on March 5th. :)

Why am I not shocked all of the trailer trash is showing up?
Yeah, it only took 10 tries to finally win 1. I get excitement and relief, but I think I'd save the trash talk until after March 5. It's a free country (sort of), so I guess they can talk all the BS they want on a Purdue forum if that's what makes them happy.

It sure as hell isn’t against a team we’ve owned the past 6 years.

Tournament games are all far more important than playing you.
But your national championship game—that was your standard. You made it clear who it isn’t, but who is it?

For instance, our last ones were Maryland and Syracuse.
