Really? You yourself have stated that you haven't personally experienced racism. While I, and I would be willing to guess others here, have been told that my opinion doesn't matter because I'm a straight white male. If not racist it is at a bare minimum discriminatory. All the others here saying my statement is ridiculous are blind to the realities of today with the modern left.
Just to clarify. As far getting into Purdue, and then all of the jobs I’ve had since then I have not had any racism that held me back from those. But I have experienced the n-word yelled at me several times. A few “Karens” every now and then. Even at Purdue in the 80s someone burned a cross in the lawn outside the Black Cultural Center. Also, someone did something similar at the frat house of the black fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha, Inc. during that time. So as far those events I would say hit me personally. I know friends, family members and folks nation wide that have experience racism 10 times worse. Therefore, if a white straight male experience all of what I mentioned to me plus the worse events that happen to other blacks then you may have a point. But you and I know that you don’t. So you need to stop with this crap you been throwing around.

Of course not. There wasn't a national news like there is today. That's why most people believe that school shootings are the worst they've ever been right now. The reality is that in the 1990's school shootings were worse, but we didn't have a national media to tell us about them like we do today.

US post office shooting as well as other work place shootings were quite common in 80s and 90s and the news reported on these. In 1999, the Columbine High School mass shooting was the first school shooting that I can remember.

I thought free speech was allowed on college campuses, or did the US pass laws banning that recently? Heck, I guess some of the blue states may have and I missed that, or maybe just the local governments.

You said that LBJ, a democrat signed affirmative action into law. You failed to mention that the father of affirmative action was a black Republican named Arthur Fletcher. He served under President Nixon as Assistant Secretary of Labor. later served under the Ford, Reagan, and Bush administrations.
You and others, when talking about your displeasure with affirmative action, fail to mention that your black conservative heroes, Justice Clarence Thomas and Dr. Ben Carson along with 20 or so other black males got into Yale through an affirmative action program.

You say this as if it's the entire student body. It's not even close. It's a small very vocal and sometimes violent minority. In fact, many times people that don't even go to school there come to protest.
This is part of the crap the media pulls. They use language to make something sound worse than it really is. A book ban would mean that NOBODY could ever get access to it again. Removing something from a school library because it's inappropriate for school children is not a book ban. But using the word ban gets people up in a tizzy.

What do you mean that Thomas didn’t benefit from affirmative action? He benefitted by getting into Yale as the article clearly states. Dr. Ben Carson and Dr. Henry Louis Gate along with several other black men also got into Yale during that time.
