In today’s world it makes no sense to redshirt any player. While he may not receive many minutes as a freshman, the reality is if he doesn’t make any type of impact his second year, he will most likely transfer. And you are basically giving his next school a year of eligibility to use.

And if the player remains and is not making an impact by his 4th year is he really worth keeping for his 5th year using up a scholarship that could be given to someone else?

Is a player who only plays 1-3 minutes a game in his 4th year really worth having him red shirt that first year?

If a player that red shirted his freshman year and stayed 4 years and earned his degree and is a role player his senior season even going to want to stay for a 5th year?
Name the last player who was redshirted and opted to play his fifth year somewhere else and would have been an asset to our team? Maybe Aaron wheeler. Haarms doesn’t Count because it was not a voluntary redshirt but basically an NCAA sanction.

Redshirt makes way more sense as they will get another year (if Purdue chooses to keep them!) to make $200k+ at Purdue. It gives them a choice if they want to come back and make that money.

I do agree somewhat, but I also think if a player is coming off injury, or not physically ready for the college level, it could benefit them to just sit a year and develop.

Biden calls Trump supporters "Garbage"

I believe this is the first President in history to call 1/2 the country garbage.

And who is the threat to unity & Democracy??? Dare to vote against these folks that cost your family $thousands$, and you are now....... garbage.

Ryan Walters sends Kamala a bill for $474 million

That should cover any buyout.

Every state should do this. State tax dollars are for citizens, not illegals these two lying crooks let in the country.

OT: Big Ten Football Title

A friend of mine posted this elsewhere, and I'm honestly curious if it's accurate and what it might mean for the postseason.

Oregon is the number 1 college program in the country, it's unlikely, but possible they don't make the Big10 championship.

There are three teams in the Big10 that are undefeated, Oregon, Indiana and Pennsylvania State. None of them play each other. Under tiebreaker rules the next tie breaker besides head to head is win margin against a similar opponent. They do all have a similar opponent... Ohio State.

Oregon has already played Ohio State, and beat them by one. If Penn State and Indiana beat them by more and they all finish the year undefeated, Oregon is watching from home.

If the above scenario does happen (which seems unlikely), Oregon could still qualify for the playoffs, right? So it would make the Big Ten Title game essentially worthless.
Oregon would easily make the playoff at that point. They would be the 5 seed. Winner of the B1G championship would automatically be one of the top 4 seeds. The loser would be somewhere between 5-12.

If IU pulls off this class of Sisley/ Mullins/Haralson/Reibe.....

In reality, Mullins eliminated IU after his visit there because the difference between the programs was so great. IU tried to get both him and Haralson by outbidding UConn and ND, but it didn’t influence either of those kids or their families at all. TS is from an IU family and he always wanted to go there, but they promised he’d be part of a big class and it’s not happening. Will be surprised if he opens back up unless Woodson gets booted, but they sold him on being part of a high profile class when they were never getting either of the other guys. They really aren’t focused much on high school kids anyway, and the AAU and HS coaches know this. The Cook checkbook is their only selling point.
Neither had anything to do with being "underwhelmed." For Mullins it was playing SG for a guy who just put Castle and Hawkins in the NBA and won back to back titles. For Haralson, being able to play point guard and being more of a focal point of the offense. They were getting paid no matter where they went.

I’ll be surprised if Sisley DOESN’T reopen his recruitment 😂

When I saw the title, thought it was about the Purdue football team. 😂

Our questions as of Saturday

I was surprised and disappointed in Heide. He had minimal impact on either end of the court. I thought Myles was much better on D and I believe we all know he can be very good on offense. The question is, with Painter repeating multiple times that he wants another ball handler on the court doesn’t that kind of limit Colvin and in my opinion take a step back on the offensive end with Harris. I do think Cox looked like he’s a baller with a lot of upside and Harris as well. I believe Harris can score but we didn’t see that aspect of his game. Not sure what to make at the 5. I feel bad for Furst as I thought he was still not meshing and appeared lost a couple times. I like Burgess as the guy to move to the top if he doesn’t red shirt. I think Berg needs playing time and confidence. DJ has upside but physically will get pushed around. He was scored on fairly frequently even with his shot blocking ability.
Yeah felt the same about Furst !, remember his freshman year , thought he was really going to be something, don't think it's lack of effort, I'm perplexed by this one. Good assessment.
