Ore. St loses 28 - 0 to Air Force ( 2 - 7 )

Do we really have to keep rubbing in how bad we are? I think we already all know it when our best player is the punter.
Yeah, we all get it. The "tough schedule" rationalization was dead a month ago, at least.

Would it really matter who Purdue plays? This team has been competitive twice in nine FBS games. I suspect ND/Nebraska/Wisconsin/Oregon/OSU/PSU all get tougher challenges from their own scout teams.

Democrats proposing a shadow government in clear sedition!

I think it is a good idea. The dems will have to expose the nitwits they would put in such a cabinet, and then the stupid things they can predictably be counted on to say will be good campaign material in 26 and 28 - like Kam's bragging about being a leader in the fight to get free sex changes for criminals was this year. I bet I saw that particular ad 30-40 times this fall while watching football.

What happens to our program, if Walters does not end up getting let go this year?

Good post. There is no doubt Purdue has invested in facilities. RA, the practice field, training/weight room, and locker rooms have all seen significant upgrades. All this means nothing if you don't invest in the right people to run the program.
The lightening in a bottle approach is successful at best 10% of the time. We had our one with Tiller, who in spite of successes at Wyoming was rather unknown.

It is pretty clear that on-the-job training does not work.

As far as yesterday's game went, I didn't watch. I did receive regular updates from my friends who are PSU fans who were clearly pissed off at the state of Purdue football. You know it is bad when opposing fans want the other coach fired.

If it wasnt for Keady's influence with Painter, just how bad would we have f*ck*d up that hire?
I personally thought it was insulting that psu wore its practice duds during the game.

My biggest complaint towards Purdue is that they have aggressively and lavishly spent money for improvements to sports facilities but don't make corresponding investments in leadership for those teams.

Case in point, Ross Ade Stadium. Since 2002, Purdue has spent ($70M) for a new press box and stadium seating (in the 2000's) and then have just completed a $45.4M investment in the south end zone and other improvements around the stadium. If my figures are correct, Purdue has spent over $115M on Ross Ade alone since 2002.

But when it comes to hiring coaches, Purdue pulls its pockets inside out and states they can only afford young assistant coaches who have no head coach experience, and that on-the-job-training is the only way to go. They spin this with the hopes that they will find the next "lighting in a bottle" head coach.

My advice to the Purdue Athletic Department and the BoT: Cut back on your lavishly spending on sports facilities by 20-30 percent and direct that money toward strategic hires of experienced coaching staffs for all sports.

It is pretty damn stupid to renovate the football stadium into a gilded monstrosity but then cheaply hire inexperienced and unproven coaches. At best, that will only guarantee Purdue finishing in the bottom quarter of a very high-profile league.
The Brohm hire was a very good one, so I think they are capable of making a good hire.

Don't see the need for experienced or big money coaches in sports like track, tennis etc.

To answer the question asked, if Purdue it's Alum's cannot pony up the NIL money for better skilled players in the portal and recruitment the Boilers will settle being in the middle eventually, hoping for an even record and a minor bowl. A BIG name winning coach and staff will also cost BIG bucks also. We have to bring in 30+ players via the portal and recruiting that can play NOW. A difficult task to say the least! Bottom line is we should have three wins instead of one, but players, coaches and refs cost Purdue the two extra wins.

Draymonds trip of Edey upgraded to Flagrant 1

Ha....LeBron was the MVP.....but ironically to bring this full circle to the OP, Cleveland probably doesn't win that series in '16 without Green's antics in Game 4 and getting suspended for Game 5.....that was after a whole mess of chicanery that playoff season.

Also - Kyrie Irving's clutchness.

A lot of folks in Cleveland don't want him or his talents back.....plenty do as well, though.
💯 💯

The Alabama Movie

I love seeing Colvin run up in to the students.. because.. you know.. he hates it here :p
Lolol.

In all seriousness though, he has embraced the defense. It’s great to see. If he can play that type of defense and also knock down 3s consistently…he’s got a future at the next level. BUT we need him all year to do that.

Future is very bright and hope these guys keep up the effort. At Marquette will be tough but we def have a shot.

Better watch out…if they continue to be good, LeBron will force a trade to the Cavs and claim he made them good!

There are some posters who think Purdue has the option to accept failure in football. No one in the P4 has that option. Produce or be fired, just like in real life. The idea that Walters can't be fired because no one else will take the job is insanity, and people pushing that idea should be mocked off the board.
Interesting comment, but how do you define failure?

Finishing in the bottom third of the btn year after year? Bottom half?
