The positive for Indiana is that Bama really has zero shot now. And only one of SMU/Clemson will make it.
that would disappointment to an extremely high degree. Please don't let that happen.Bone, your biggest nightmare may come true and Shaka may become the coach of the Hoosiers 😮

Hoosiers Dominate Offensive Glass
I'll start off by saying what they accomplished the past two years was amazing. Very, very talented teams.Stayed up late last night to watch UCONN go 0-3 in the islands. This time Dayton took them to the wood shed. Super recruit Liam McNeely held scoreless on 0-9 shooting.
Ok I think I understand…I mean obviously that wasn't true. Did you expect him to say, boy we don't have enough to compete right now? None of the experts believed him, that's why every publication had us last in the conference.
Ok he's a terrible coach. He's still here next season. We still need more talent.
Nothing changes about that, no one is "excusing" anything by pointing out we have more than one problem.
He's gone after next season. This perverse idea of making the team as bad as possible as some sort of punishment to Walters or the AD by not wanting to improve the talent is something I don't get.
So even if one thinks he's an idiot who should go do something else and never coach another football game at any level, why wouldn't you still want more talent and NIL for the NEXT coach to work with?
Why wouldn't you want to start working on those issues now?
And yes, recognizing that almost ANY coach would have had a huge hill to climb with our situation and quite frankly probably wouldn't have made a bowl game either season is valid. That says nothing about whether or not Walters has done a bad job. Or excuses the performance. It recognizes we have multiple, systemic problems with the program that aren't solved simply by "get a coach who doesn't suck."
I think Walters needed about four years of "seasoning". That means that Bo screwed up this pick and he needs to go.There are a lot of fingers being pointed at Walters for losing. I’m beginning to believe it’s not Walters but rather his assistant coaches that need to be replaced.
Look at recruiting. Usually it is the assistant coach that does the bulk of recruiting. Look at Iowa. Their offensive line coach was the main reason they recruited so many great offensive linemen. Look at Bobby Bowden and Joe Paterno. They didn’t recruit anybody. Their assistants did.
Look at strength, conditioning and development. Purdue has been terrible at this for the past 2 decades. Purdue simply doesn’t develop any talent it recruits. Look at WR Moore and George K. Moore’s best season was his freshman year, before Purdue tried to develop him . George K came to Purdue with talent. How much did he elevate his game?
Look at game calling. Our play calling on offense is terrible as are our schemes. Our blocking schemes are terrible. Our defensive schemes are terrible. Is that the fault of the head coach or his coordinators?
I look at Purdue and then I look at Nebraska. Nebraska has been terrible since it joined the Big 10. Why? Because its coaches employed a style of football that never matched the type of player that was a typical Nebraska recruit. Their recruiting base is big slow guys meant for run blocking. They were never meant to be a flashy passing attack. The Florida style doesn’t work in Nebraska.
I look at Lane Kiffin and Monty Kiffin. Who is the better coach? It’s Monty! And he’s basically a super guru assistant coach. Tony Dungy was an awesome assistant coach.
Walters hired a bunch of experienced assistants. Their resumes were good. But their schemes are just not working at Purdue.
My suggestions? Rather than forking out more money for the head coach position, Purdue needs to spend more money and bring in some of the top assistants. They could improve recruiting, better player development and better schemes!
The real problem is not the head coach. It’s the total lack of development of our players! We are not elevating anybody’s game to a higher level.
Look at Card. This is his last year. He was better at Texas than he has been this year. I don’t blame Walters for his regression! I blame our assistant coaches.
I can relate well to track athletes. Usually it’s the head coach that accepts the glory and the blame. But it is the assistant coaches that recruit the players and develop them to do their personal best. And when they do, it’s that assistant coach they thank when they reach that goal.
The head coach builds staff. It’s the staff that builds the team.
I shared the same view of good vs evil! I do miss those days with Keady, Knight, Heathcote, Hensen, Tom Davis (I hated Iowa's rolling pass and inbound pressure), and Birdsong. How could it be? Keady vs. Knight was a battle for the fate of the world. It was good vs. evil. At least that's how I saw it as a kid.
Painter vs. IU is mostly just a clinic on how to depress Indiana fans for 20 years. At least that's how I see it as an adult.
IU Star Headline :Indinia had more offensive rebounds than made baskets today.
Wole, is that you, disguised as qazpim???Lol kissing his ass how? I'm sorry I haven't been engaging in the DEI, he's a moron, worst coach ever fest some of y'all want to engage in for whatever reason.
I guess that's "kissing his ass." Lol
Too late now. Coaches will be hired and in place within the next 5-10 days.If that’s the case why won’t Bobo leave after this year? Why are we lame ducking a year? Who does he report to? Too bad Mitch Daniel’s wasn’t around anymore sounds like he was the only one with common sense here
If they get in it guarantees Cignettis remaining contract. That can be devastating if he turns out to be Tom Allen 2.0. I mean how do you coach 27 years in football and then play a season with no good wins yet you are now given $64m in guaranteed revenue?I hope IU get in. They did everything right. If we try to minimize this year it would be like the idiot fans on peegs referring to tillers best team as a “middle of the road big ten team”
Compared to good P4 head coaches he IS a moron, and he is our worst coach ever.Lol kissing his ass how? I'm sorry I haven't been engaging in the DEI, he's a moron, worst coach ever fest some of y'all want to engage in for whatever reason.
I guess that's "kissing his ass." Lol
Well, he is doing both. Plus he just got the #2 rated high school QB to flip to Colorado. Plus a pipeline from IMG Academy in FL is developing.Nobody would care if he's a Buddhist, Amish or nothing....he just needs to coach football and win.
Depends....are you talking of continuously failing every year? I would say the money on coaching, facilities, roster and exceptions has to be Woodson.Who gets fired first - Woodson or Walters?
Could be 1000% wrong but I’d imagine we lose 10-15k in current season ticket sales. Some probably offset by a few newbies, some offset by cheap package sales to opposing fans. Call it 12k in attendance we fall short in next year. That’s 84k unsold seats at say an average of $50 a pop. That’s $4.2million just in tickets. Tickets that don’t get an associated donation, concessions or parking fee. Call that another $2-3mil in lost revenue.
At that point the lost revenue pays for Walters buyout and a decent increase to the next coach.
Doesn’t take a business master to know that keeping Walters hurts the wallet next year.
But agree…they want a new AD and to have the new one hire the coach just like they did with Mbob. Making a “business” decision here but not really protecting the business…just some guys arbitrary timeline to leave.
Nobody would care if he's a Buddhist, Amish or nothing....he just needs to coach football and win.Yep, Coach Prime is a Christian.
What?! Pat fitzgerald was youngest coach and was at NU for 17 years. Ferentz has been at Iowa for 25 years. Day is just getting started and they’re like 6 years. Jeff brohm was here for 5 and people were upset he left early. What is young? What big ten coach left in 4 or fewer years on their own? They could and have done a lot worse. If a 78 year old can run a country, a 73 year old can run a football team. As for his age, the young coaches never stay longer than 4 years anyway
And they even got Beth Mowins to call the game for them. 🤣
Wait. She does basketball now too? 😫
To me, that is not baggage. Baggage is getting into trouble about something, allegations of wrong doings, etc.Verbatim quote from you: "People that like to find something to complain about. Coach Prime has been getting a lot of haters since he got to Boulder. There are a lot of haters that have always wanted him to fail. Been like that for years."
Lol kissing his ass how? I'm sorry I haven't been engaging in the DEI, he's a moron, worst coach ever fest some of y'all want to engage in for whatever reason. He is a never before head coach and you have been kissing his a$$ since he arrived...
It has taken this long for you to admit that CRW can't manage a winning football team.
If CRW is your brother, just let us know up front as your posts would then become more logical....
Lord, save our Gridiron Boilers and some Purdue fans that just don't get it......
