Mgbako and renau were locks to leave last year and ballo was doing a tour and stopped short when he got to indiana. Money is a big motivator and indiana threw a ton their way to get them to stay. Likely more than they will ever make. I don’t see why they would leave clearly winning or being part of a work hard culture is not important.Or a flex-3/4 like Camden. Mackenzie Mgbako keeps regressing under Woodson's offense.
I agree with Purvis on this. We may see a flood of transer-out players at IU. They have potential NBA aspirations and Woody/IU isn't getting them there.
No one says it's bad strategy for BASKETBALL where strength of schedule matters greatly and there are over 30+ games so tons of opportunity to win enough games to make a post season tournament. We can see how thst works for other programs. Purdue should be pkayibgbthe best talent year over year as this edtablishes the team culture and sets forth the right mindset.
should have been after Wisconsin. 52-6 vs a 5-7 team. No, we’ll just let all the good players leave and use our massive NIL that alums are going to throw at these loser coaches and refill the roster!
The whole athletic department is delusional!
Walters should have been out after MSU..at the latest. NW would have been a good time too. These guys are gutless!
I’ve been saying Lashlee for a while. In theory, you could offer him $7 million a year and triple his salary, which he’d at least have to think about. But SMU can surely match it, and Purdue is probably unattractive to him for multiple reasons. Plus his Alma mater in the SEC is going to open up soon.We need to do what IU did last year but with a winning cicra 45-yr-old instead of a 63-yr-old. I've listed several above and we could also add 41-yr-old SMU coach Rhett Lashlee. He might win the ACC in the team's first year in the conference.
If there is to be a change (and I believe there will be) I hope this is the way it's handled.Have to believe AD waiting until after IU, and they have someone lined up so they can do same day and get some positive buzz with a decent name brand coach.
At least that’s what should be done and would help shore up recruits, make interesting transfer portal landing spot……..turn around story……can’t start any lower🥴

YesYes, he is over all Purdue athletics
Don't worry. You have zero credibility on basketball knowledge in my book, and probably most on this board feel the same. You don't need to creat your own shot anymore in the NBA. He'd play the 4 and stand and wait for catch and shoot 3s. All the NBA is anymore. And who cares about defense?? It's the NBA.
This didn't age well.P
No team is in a place, even UConn, Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, to go "man that 20 point loss was a great loss." Numbers matter, especially in the world of the NET.
Big wins over bad/good teams= good
Any win over a good team= good
Close wins over bad teams= bad
Big losses to any team= bad
Have to review the tape, before commenting? Will know more tomorrow
excellentI think ppl will have to start playing more drop coverage against the PnR with him and TKR cuz TKR is ABUSING teams right now…according to KenPom, he’s the 8th best player in the country right now.
If that happens, smith will get those open looks he got last year with Edey. We’ve also had more balanced scoring than last year (or at least it’s starting to pick up) so Bearden doesn’t have to shoot it AS much…even though I’d like him to. Interested to see how it looks the rest of 2024.
Just wishful thinking.I am surprised that Sanders keeps being mentioned as a possibility. There is zero chance he would come to Purdue.
Anyone who follows this program would be an idiot to let their kid come here, if they have any other decent options.
Anyone who follows this program would be an idiot to let their kid come here, if they have any other decent options. What's sad is FW is in your back yard. The word coming out of Traction is that he originally built great relationships and players were excited with Purdue being close to home.
Now, he has lost even the close to home recruiting with underrated recruits. Walter's hole is deep.

I am surprised that Sanders keeps being mentioned as a possibility. There is zero chance he would come to Purdue. If I owned a pro football team, I would get the best coach. I would not care if he had been involved in ten scandals or was a dirty-mouth jerk. I would want a team that wins.
If I were the decision-maker at Purdue, the main qualities I want in a coach are someone who can be a Light and care for his kids off the field. He wants to produce quality adults who will contribute to society when their football days are behind them, whether or not they play pro ball. Once that is established, I want someone who can win football games.
Neon Deion was a jerk but a great coverage cornerback who could run back kicks. If he wanted to be a pro assistant, so be it.
Coach Prime has shown himself to be a Light to his players, and how he got the epiphany makes no difference. He tuned Colorado around, and I believe he will do that if we can convince him to come to Purdue.
