For a second day in a row, IU has been completely overmatched. IU fans must be in meltdown mode.

They should, the key word is should, win tomorrow for a 7th place finish in the tournament. Wonder if they will put a banner up?

For all that preseason hype, because of the transfers, the BT might want to vote again for the BT Conference finish, because the voting for IU for 2nd place in the conference might be a little bit optimistic.

The trouble with this team is the same as before, they lack in defense. However, as they have been for the last 2 to 3 years, their biggest flaw right now is that they cannot shoot the ball.

Have to say that I am loving it!

Clearly just a blip.
I've been told several times, this iu team is B10 championship and FF quality bunch of mercenaries with several of the top twenty players in the league.
😎

Don't forget they just bought the "best backcourt" in the B1G. They said Rice is a "game changer" and they're clearly better than Smith and Loyer.

I wonder if that backcourt is regretting their decision or any transfers.

Someone on Fox said Paint/Purdue are the model of success the past 20 years and programs should model themselves after what he's established....love it!

Cardio Carlyle and Myles Rice will transfer after this year. Along with Reneau, mgtacko, cupps, Newton and Tucker.

It’s only a matter of time for the Sisley de-commit announcement.

Saw something that a poster mentioned their statistics for this season, according to Torvik’s metric, closely resembles last years team. Yikes.

Supposedly they spent $5M in NIL for this roster and they just look apathetic out there.

I’ll leave this gem

I thought about Sisley decommitting but he and his family are IU loyalists. He will stay regardless of who is the coach. Reminds me of the Perry kid who committed to Kentucky and stayed after Cal left.

Lol love this tweet. Treyknowsball has quit Twitter for a bit and said everyone can continue to make fun of him.

Edit: nvm, he’s back already

Yeah. Their lack of a coach or notable success didn't stop him from committing there to begin with. This should line up with expectations.

His commitment to IU always reminded me of Hartman. I get the love for a school/program but when they have been so bad and haven't evolved in over 20 years. Don't you go with the "spot-on" program that has?

I mean it worked out somewhat for Hartman. Won a Big Title. But he just had too many injuries to be a super effective player. But he made a good role on that 2016 team.

If Sisley wants to be a “3-guard” like he said when interviewed before committing iu was not the place. He may just be happy collecting a salary for 4 years and a college degree.

Or a flex-3/4 like Camden. Mackenzie Mgbako keeps regressing under Woodson's offense.

I agree with Purvis on this. We may see a flood of transer-out players at IU. They have potential NBA aspirations and Woody/IU isn't getting them there.

Waaaait! Whenever I have told IU fans Mack hasn’t improved/isnt nba ready I am told I have no clue what I’m talking about and that he’s a lotto pick!

He has moments where he looks like NBA potential and then he plays against solid defense and crumbles.

If he gets a good agent/rep - he will probably get drafted in the first round.
Correct. Usually they’re against inferior competition. He’s not explosive for the next level. Not strong enough to guard the 4 and not quick enough to guard the 3. Good shot when he can get it off.

HUGE WIN TODAY FOR THE HOOSIERS IN THE 7TH PLACE GAME vs a Providence team that played less than 15 hours ago.

Providence still shot 30 3s and IU shot half that. Still allowed the other team to shoot open 3s and IU not take many…only +2 in rebounding.

Backcourt wasn’t great again, besides BlackJack Galloway.

Mgbako and renau were locks to leave last year and ballo was doing a tour and stopped short when he got to indiana. Money is a big motivator and indiana threw a ton their way to get them to stay. Likely more than they will ever make. I don’t see why they would leave clearly winning or being part of a work hard culture is not important.

Leale, Galloway, and ballo are done. Goode could technically apply for a medical waiver and come back.

It was reported to be $8m with the current players, someone just posted they had to give some of their current players raises after their shopping spree. All of this was 100% predictable. Dakich called ballo a fat center and creen said had conditioning issues (woodson played him 29 minutes!?) clogs the lane. No movement by guards. Look at the last 3 years of player stats like Leal, cupps, Galloway, Xavier, Gunn. None developed, actually mostly regressed. Xavier’s and Galloway were the most shocking.

You don't need to creat your own shot anymore in the NBA. He'd play the 4 and stand and wait for catch and shoot 3s. All the NBA is anymore. And who cares about defense?? It's the NBA.
Ok how about this. He can’t beat anyone off the dribble In the nba, he’s not quick enough, and won’t be able to get his shot off. If he can’t guard anyone, then what is he good for? JHS could at least get his shot off quickly and look at him, relegated to the G league. Mgbako may be able to get to the nba if he does to a different school with a coach who can develop him—he has the size, but no explosiveness.

He is 6-8 and can spot up shoot. It's a skill the NBA cares about. The rest is whatever because they feel those holes can be filled. Right now he is shooting 50% from 3. That'll drop of course but that's a skill NBA will take. It was the same for a guy like Caleb Houston at Michigan.
