All Five Conference Champs Lost Their First Game In The Playoff

The CFP should never have been expanded to 12 teams and conferences like the mountain whatever, pac 12 and acc should never have been given automatic seeds. The overall seeding was terrible!

I don’t mind the top rated from 5 conferences if they are the top 5 rated, forget about conference championship games. And the seeds should be based on ratings just like in basketball. You could have multiple teams from same conference as 1 seeds in basketball, why can’t we do that here?
Right. Abolish all CCGs and expand the playoff to 32 teams. Give a guaranteed spot to each P4 and G5 conference champ, but teams are seeded by their ranking and not by being a conf champ. Four brackets with four #1 seeds, four #2 seeds, etc, just like March Madness. The 2 or 3 G5 conf champs who aren't ranked in the top 32 would displace the #32, #31, #30 whatever ranked teams.

Tweak the brackets to avoid repeat matchups and to spread out the Big Ten and SEC teams as much as possible. No more Oregon-Ohio St repeat games unless they reach the Final Four.

Conference championship games are now meaningless. The losers of the Big Ten CCG and the SEC CCG ended up with easier pathways to the NC than the CCG winners did.

Big Ten

Last five seasons:

Painter - 68-31
Underwood - 69-31

Last six seasons:

Painter - 84-35
Underwood - 76-44

Last seven seasons:

Painter - 99-38
Underwood - 80-58
Exxxxaaaaccttly.

And how about conf championships? Better include Conf tournament championships cuz Illinois really likes to let everyone know they won it last year lol

Open border for 4 years….

Dude, I don't discriminate when it comes to idiots. Sen. Tim Scott is an idiot. Rep. Byron Donalds is an idiot. Sen. Mitt Romney, not an idiot.
you need to discriminate, otherwise you can't discern and separate as fine as needed many times to understand and see the differences. Without discrimination you will see the world as only black and white and none of the shades in-between. Here is a good book written by a brilliant man who has actively sought understanding instead of being told what to think.

All Five Conference Champs Lost Their First Game In The Playoff

What I was saying was that IU had a good season. Give them some props.

They got blown out by ND. Several other teams also go blown out. Was Tennessee deserving? They also got blown away as did Oregon. People here are quick to rag on IU, basically because they are IU.

What I’m really saying is they made the playoffs include too many teams, and several teams were not deserving. And the decision for automatic bids needs to be reassessed.

A better number would have been 8 teams. If it were 8 teams and no automatic berths, it would have a lot better representation of today’s college football.

And yes, if it were only 8 teams, I would not have selected IU. Yes, they had a nice year. But they were no where close to being one of the top 10 teams in college football this year. And in saying that, neither was Alabama or SMu
I think most would say that the 12 that made it “deserved” it. Maybe 1-2 outliers in there. Some could argue SMU. Very few will argue Indiana didn’t deserve it. What people argue is they didn’t take the 12 best teams. The only conference champion I questioned was clemson. The other 4 were ranked in the top 12. I think Boise State was better than Indiana, their only loss was a close game against Oregon and they held on to PSU until the 4th quarter whereas those two teams would have smoked indiana like ND and OSU did. Arizona state was questioned but they won some good games down the stretch and had a close game against Texas.

So my only main gripes was clemson getting in and giving byes to conference champs. I don’t mind the top rated from 5 conferences if they are the top 5 rated, forget about conference championship games. And the seeds should be based on ratings just like in basketball. You could have multiple teams from same conference as 1 seeds in basketball, why can’t we do that here? Otherwise I thought the rating committee did great.

If they could change it I think the quad wins like basketball would make this more competitive but I don’t think they necessarily got that wrong, that is really an opinion that the vast majority may not agree with.

IU did not deserve to be in CFP. Great article by USA Today

IU's schedule next year will likely be top 25-ish or better next year. Three cupcakes to start, but then it includes at Penn State, at Iowa, at Oregon, at Maryland, at what I would suppose you all will project will be a greatly improved Purdue team, and home against Wisconsin, Illinois, MSU, and UCLA. Seven to ten wins would be outstanding for a historically bad P5 program and would not be "mediocre."
That is much improved. There are 4 games on that schedule I would say would have been harder than your biggest win this year (home vs Michigan (Oregon, Iowa, PSU, il) and at MD and home vs WI would be in that same tier. Indianas team this year probably goes 7-5 with that schedule. I do think that is still mediocre for big ten standards as it would be a 4-5 big ten record. But going to a decent bowl game for indiana would be great. I would take 7-5 next year for sure!

We need.......................

There's 2 guys on the team that have shown some real flashes but don't seem to have developed their game to improve their weaknesses. I'm sure they're going to sniff around the portal, especially if Painter sees those as a position of need.
If they are the two players that I am thinking of, I can definitely see them looking at their options.

Open border for 4 years….

About what the last few years? Just say it. What is it? Well of course he won't say it cause there's nothing to say. This is a sitting US senator taking political shots at the media, implying past info is being withheld, and playing the trump tough guy by threatening investigators if they don't come forward with an explanation of what happened. Throws a little red meat, preemptive conspiracy out for you to swallow. The attack isn't 24 hours old and he's railing about what he's gonna do if authorities don't tell us everything.......which could be months down the road.

He checked all the trump boxes. Made it about himself, attacked the media, and tossed a conspiracy or two for good measure. Right up your alley.

Gene Keady was underpaid

I bet Steve Lavin remembers, because didn't Keady give him and his assistants coupons for free food at that Wendys?

You think Gene was not paid compared to current head coaches. Well, being assistant coaches in the era was even worse.

You could say that about anything in sports now though.

Ewers might make $6 million as a college player next year supposedly. QBs like Joe Montana did not make that much playing themselves at the height of their careers. Now, you have starting QBs making a minimum of $40 million a year for average QBs. You have Dak Prescott making $62 million.

Who is this going to end up hitting in the pocketbook? The fans through high ticket prices, cable or streaming bills, etc. It has gotten insane.

I am a Browns fan, so do not come at me about players getting paid to much. My fandom, ie sunday ticket, jersey and t-shirt sales, ect is paying Watson 50 million a year for 2 more years and good chance he has taken his last snap for the Browns and will make all that money for being the worst QB in the NFL.

Damn, I need that Wendy's salad bar coupon more than ever now.

Potential assassination attempt on Trump and 35 other government officials

Pakistan National flys to Iran, then flys into Texas, he is on THE TERROR WATCHLIST, he then gets interviewed by The FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force and he is GRANTED ENTRY INTO AMERICA

This same man is arrested for plotting to kill Donald Trump and US leaders

“If you're unaware of who this is, his name is Asif Raza Merchant. He is a Pakistani national, and he recently wanted to visit the US.

Now he didn't fly directly from Pakistan. Now first, he went to our good old friends in Tehran. He flew from Pakistan to Iran, spent 4 days there, then flew directly from Tehran to Houston. Now when he got to Houston, he ran into some trouble because Assif here is on the terrorist watch list.

So you can imagine when he showed up, there were some issues.

Luckily, Asif is a very good talker. I mean, he'd have to be because even though he was on the terrorist watch list and was interviewed by the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force, they decided, uh, no big deal, and gave him special permission to enter the US.

They actually gave him what's known as special public benefit parole, which is a privilege reserved for people whose visits are so beneficial to the American people that their history doesn't matter.

Whatever he said he was doing here must have been f**king spectacular or at least the FBI thought so. So even though Assif was on the terrorist watch list, they let him in.

He gave him special parole. Although that didn't work out too well because yesterday, Assif was arrested. Now what do you think he was arrested for? (Go ahead and pause the video and put it in the comments.) Asif was arrested for plotting with Iran to murder Donald Trump and 35 other government officials.

Who could have seen that coming? Who could have guessed? Pakistani national who is on the terrorist watch list flies from Pakistan to Tehran, Iran, spends 4 days there, and then flies directly to the US. He is picked up, fingerprinted, and released even though he's on the f**king terrorist watch list. Yeah.

That ain't suspicious.”

Again he was arrested for assassination plot in United States

It’s stories like this, where the FBI has these people IN THEIR CUSTODY and releases them into America, that you know there are much sinister agendas going on then we’re being told

Now we have 3 major events in one day…. We all know what’s going on
