36 days until basketball season officially begins.
Do you want our QB to actually die on the field?See the problem i have is purdue has some decent freshman and the coach has to play them if the offensive line not working put 5 new line man in the game
Agree here. Will not get tossed out of the BIG but would almost assuredly get left out of a football super league if that ever formed outside the confines of conferences.I know football is king but Purdue basketball has kept big ten basketball relevant. We also prop up their academics and have strong rivalries. Not going to get kicked out. Only way we get cast aside is if everyone leaves like what happened to Oregon state and wazzou. Q
He’d never do it but I’d take him as OC in an absolute heartbeat. The Superstar who’s never coached coming back to his Alma mater… not a great track record…
Wole doesn’t know how football works…gotta excuse him…Walters would be owed $3 million next year if he’s fired, not $9 million.
Walters would be owed $3 million next year if he’s fired, not $9 million. They say in gambling, you should never bet more than you can afford to lose.
Obviously the Purdue AD never heard of that phrase. He paid Hazell way too much money to be a head coach after 1 good season. He paid Brohm too much money on his extension. When he first threatened to leave for Louisville .
And now Purdue will keep Walters for another year because they can’t afford to pay him the $9 million buyout And hire another coach.
Think about it. If Purdue buys out Walters, they will have to spend $9 million for the buyout plus another $8-10 million for another head coach. No way can Purdue afford to spend $17-20 million just for a head coach next year.
Like gambling, Purdue should have never given Walters the contract they gave him if they couldn’t afford to buy him out. They should have started out giving their head coach $3-5 million And then increase his salary based on His performance/success.
Admittedly no big name coach would have accepted an offer of only $3-5 million. But the reality is somebody would have. Hope was getting paid less than $1 million. I have to believe. There’s a coach somewhere out there who would have come cheap.
Two guys I would have tried to hire. Are Coach kill. And Tommy Bowden. They both enjoyed success at the division 1 level and both would have signed for half of what Purdue shelled out for Walters!
Why spend your money on a Lexus, when a Camry will get the job done at half the price!!! And a Camry is still better than 75% of the competition!
The Superstar who’s never coached coming back to his Alma mater… not a great track record…I would roll the dice if Drew Bees was on the shortlist. He could probably do great in recruiting, seems to be a great leader and must know offense strategies better than most. Would love for him to have 10 years of HC experience first, but I don't want to wait that long. Will probably never happen but it sure would be nice to have some excitement around Purdue football again. Would be great to get a Purdue guy as our coach as well. As much as I liked Brohm through the years, you always knew it was only a matter of time before he bolted to Louisville.
At least he was in a position where there were decisions to be made, other than “hey should we keep our starters in now that we’re down by 50 ?”I was listening to the ND radio broadcast for the 4th quarter today and they were amazed at how poorly Brohm was handling things. At one point, they commented “This has got to be the 7th decision by Jeff Brohm this game that just makes you scratch your head”. It seemed …oddly familiar… 🤷♂️
Take it with a grain of salt it’s the ND radio announcers. They are the biggest homers. I only watched a little and he seemed less engaged than he usually is.I was listening to the ND radio broadcast for the 4th quarter today and they were amazed at how poorly Brohm was handling things. At one point, they commented “This has got to be the 7th decision by Jeff Brohm this game that just makes you scratch your head”. It seemed …oddly familiar… 🤷♂️

This is so naive.lots of Pro NFL teams suck year over year. The Bears, etc. Purdue is in the Big Ten forever - if they suck, they suck. But every once in a while, they'll get a QB, a line, some receivers, and a junk defense that wins and they will. Meanwhile, they'll collect a lot of money.
Forgot to take your meds again I see.Let’s set the record straight! I like Purdue! I HATE several posters on this forum! And I LOVE telling you I told you so!
Go back a few years when I questioned why Card was such a great transfer addition! You laughed at me! Now who’s laughing?
The original statement was what are the positives of this game. The answer was clearly there were none! This game was so negative even the IU win was more positive than this game.
IU only needs 1 more win to be able to play in a bowl game! Their AD had some insight in how to make a bowl game. They may even be ranked in the top 25 this week. When was the last time Purdue was ranked in the top 25? I don’t recall any Brohm coached team making the top 25. I could be wrong. Was it the Tiller era? Has Purdue football gone the longest of all big 10 teams of not being in the top 25?
How about this for a positive? Purdue fans are starting to believe Hazell wasn’t that bad!
IU fans are happy! Purdue fans are not! Am I right? Losing brings unhappiness . Go ahead ! Berate others! Bring some happiness to your life!
Are they? We are fans. Short for fanatics. If Purdue losing makes you unhappy your priorities in life are messed up.
Yes. I agree. But until this Athletic Department proves they will do something proactively, why should we believe they will? We’ve never been behind 17 other programs in our own conference before. This is uncharted territory.
We’ve never been behind 17 other programs in our own conference before. This is uncharted territory.Thought bobinski was hired in 15. Sorry.
Am I not accepting it? I’m literally just saying I’ll believe it when I see it because the Purdue athletic department is proactive about nothing. And you cannot accept that answer. Yet you call me dense.
I tend to agree with you on that! It’s now or never for woody. Let’s see if he somehow changes. Will they jump? Every guard they have had has regressed under woodson. Xavier Johnson actually got worse each year. His scoring his last four years per game 14-12-10-8. Galloway 3 shooting went down from 46% to 26%. Leal and Gunn never “jumped”. Why would you expect any other guard?
That’s fine that you can’t accept it. But that doesn’t mean what I’m saying is wrong….I can’t accept they’ll ignore that their cash cow is DOA. If they let the rot fester they’ll reap what they would be choosing to sow.
Judging by Nebraska fan attendance many have already sold their season tickets and found somehh to hang better to do on Saturdays. 8 more weekends of this crap there won’t be anybody left on the sinking ship.
Trumpwashing history here...Yes the tariffs hurt the Soybean farmers. That's why the money collected from the tariffs went to the Soybean Farmers.
It helped the steel industry.
Trump has also addressed this in his speeches. He will hold China to their agriculture products purchase agreement.

Thought bobinski was hired in 15. Sorry.A bit revisionist. Mbob was hired in August 2016. They fired Hazell in October after it was clear it was over for him.
There’s nothing that says THiS AD waits too long to fire a football coach.
Agree Versyp was allowed to stay too long but again that was years ago and wasn’t for the cash cow program.
Accept it. Walters is done here.
