Who's going to be the new IU coach

I personally think Beard is Taylor made for it, and IU is desperate enough to look past the baggage and make a run for him. He's as close to Bobby as they come, and has experience at a similar NIL driven school at Texas. Best of both worlds for them.

He's choked the last few times he's played Purdue though.....

McCasland and Oltzenberger are other good candidates IMO. They need a guy who retains and builds program and gets away from NIL to recruit first mindset. Get guys to commit IU first talk about NIL after they produce. They will never say it, but they need a guy who runs program like Painter.
Beard's a southern guy, Texas guy to be exact, not sure if Indiana has the draw to him.

Every time the job opens, you hear a list of big names and then you end up with an underwhelming hire. I expect that to continue.

OT: Does O$U ever play Defense

I found there to be an interesting scenario at the end of the game. Not sure if anyone noticed, they didn't bring it up on the broadcast. Thornton makes the 3 to take the lead. Timeout Maryland something like 7 seconds left. They get it in, and quickly advance it so someone (Rice?) takes a 3. Rebound bounces kinda to Reese, but it gets tipped out of bounds by Ohio State. Clock says zero. They review, and put .7 on the clock. But the review shows that the ref Sciorotto actually CATCHES the ball before it lands. There's no question it's going to end up out of bounds, and no player is close to it, but he catches it for seemingly no reason. They replays weren't great, but I have to assume that they set the clock at the point where he caught it. If he doesn't catch it, and it ends up hitting the ground, shouldn't another, say, .4 or .5 come off the clock? Something? Maybe enough for Maryland to NOT be allowed to get a normal shot off? Which of course they did, and it actually hit iron but missed.

You know that if the Chiefs were playing, they would have hit the 3 and won in overtime.

Not sure of the rule, there, but Maryland did get a decent look all things considered. The other aspect of this - instinctually, it's difficult to react any other way in that scenario, but Reese didn't really have time to do anything else like kick it back out for a three - if Thornton just lets him score or doesn't knock the ball away, Maryland doesn't get off another 3-pt FG attempt.

Counting it with the banked three at the end - Thornton needed to play the lottery or hit the casino last night....

One player in particular is really struggling

You know better than that. I've stated that I want the young man to do well, and surprise even you. He's just not good enough to get it done or he'd be playing in front of two freshmen. Everyone on here knows CMP plays those who deserve to play. Fact or fiction Dwayne?
And Colvin IS playing and playing his role well on defense. Has hit a sophomore slump. You bash every little thing he does wrong but don’t do the same with any other player.

Its not your job to post on message boards either,.

Just the common curtesy and how a message board works.

What is the point of disagreeing without your point coming across.

And to your point...WRONG

He is not going against college players anymore and its a different pace in the NBA. He is having a very good rookie season, but if you dont recognize the difference it takes to play in the NBA vs NCAA, not sure we can have a real conversation.

Let me guess, you didnt get to play in high school much because the coach hated you?
Nah, original statement was so ludicrous that most people understood. Nothing personal, I can admittedly be an asshole.

That dude has never liked Colvin and never will. I have argued countless times with him about Colvin and all he does is nitpick at EVERY little thing Myles does but ignores anything else anyone else does. When called out, he has an excuse why he lets it slide with others.

Myles could average 27 on perfect shooting and be NPOTY while leading the country in rebounding too, but he’d still say something like he needs to rebound more.

Border Chief Homan Says Raid on Tren de Aragua Gang Was Leaked, Vows Accountability

Homan said his team has identified the source of the leak.

Border czar Tom Homan promised on Feb. 6 to find those responsible for leaking the details of a raid targeting members of the Tren de Aragua (TDA) gang and hold them accountable.

“This isn’t a game,” Homan told reporters outside the White House. “When operations get leaked like that, it puts our officers at great risk.”

The Venezuelan gang has become increasingly active in the United States amid a years-long surge in illegal immigrants crossing the southern border. It is one of several high-threat groups the Trump administration has prioritized for deportation.

“We know that TDA is dangerous. Everybody can agree to that,” Homan said. “But when they get a heads up that we are coming, it’s only a matter of time before our officers are ambushed.

“Their job is dangerous enough, so we are going to address this very seriously.”

The raid in question took place on Feb. 5 in Colorado. Before approaching the gaggle of reporters, Homan told Fox News that his team had already identified the source of the leak, which is not the first to hinder the border czar’s operations.

Before President Donald Trump’s inauguration, Homan’s plans for immigration enforcement in Chicago were leaked, prompting him to change things up.

Homan suggested that future media access to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) could be limited if the leaks continue.

“Look, I said from day one, we want to be transparent with the American people,” he said. “We’ve invited numerous media outlets along, but right now, it’s all about operational security.

“So we may have to stop the media ride-alongs because—I’m not pointing the finger at them—but the less people that know about these operations, the safer it is for our agents.”

Trump tapped Homan to spearhead from outside the Department of Homeland Security the massive deportation operation he promised to voters. Homan’s office is housed within the White House and reports directly to Trump.

When asked about reports that ICE is releasing some detainees, Homan said he intends to investigate the matter.

“I was made aware of that this morning, and I will address that today, but I’ve been told that some were released because of some health concerns that we could not handle within ICE detention,” he said.

“So I have a meeting with ICE leadership today to find out exactly who was released and why, but the president made it clear we’re ending catch-and-release.”

Homan said roughly 11,000 illegal immigrants have been arrested since Trump took office on Jan. 20. That figure, he added, will go up as the leaks and public safety threats are addressed.

“As the aperture opens up beyond criminals, you’re going to see more arrests,” he said. “I’ve made it clear that if you’re in the country illegally, you’re not off the table.”
Maybe Dr. Phil leaked during his ride alongs?

Maybe one of the 1,600 convicted criminals that were pardoned by Trump leaked; that is, if it isn’t one of the ones that has already been re-arrested for solicitation of a minor.

Or, maybe it was one of the 250 criminals convicted for assaulting law enforcement on J6 but now on the streets that leaked it.

Leonard Hamilton to resign after the yr

He's carved out a respectable career, especially given that Miami and FSU are two places where basketball isn't exactly king.

Had some really good battles with Purdue in the Big Ten/ACC challenge.

Hamilton was ACC Coach of the Year three times ('09, '12, and '20) and winningest coach in program history.

They had a great run as a #9-seed in 2018 NCAA Tournament losing a tight one to Michigan in the West Regional Final.

Good coach, good guy, well-respected - his teams were usually athletic, tough, and physical and always battled for 40 minutes. I liked him.

Trump bans the racist, hate-mongering Critical Race Theory from public K-12 classrooms

BNI, you said "How are you going to ban something that’s not taught in K-12?"

If it's not being taught in K-12, then you should have no problem whatsoever with Trump banning it in K-12, right?
Since 6 or 8 years ago when the banning of so-called CRT first came to the forefront, school districts were banning anything that had to do with learning black history in schools.

With removing DEI and now banning CRT in K-12, which will actually be banning specific topics of black history, most blacks feel this is overt racism and it is. This is what I’ve been saying all along. The Republican Party since the 60s have a horrible record when it comes to civil rights.
