Yep. Painter went looking for a seasoned guard after 2 veterans, Newman and Jenkins, left.3. Painter sees a player that is a helpful addition to a team just this close to making a run, like last season.
4. Painter wants a depth piece. Like say next season when we will only have three bigs.
5. A unique player emerges that's near NBA or NBA talent that would instantly elevate the team and he thinks he would also be a cultural and team fit.
It’s same stuff everrrryyyy yeeaaaaarrr
Too bad these assault’s don’t happen to them or their family members. Maybe they would get it then???
Why do you think that the total is a fixed amount? I agree that it's not unlimited but as stated previously, Matt and the athletic department have enough connections with deep pockets that if they said 'we think we can add x,y,z for an incremental $2M and it will really help our FF chances', I'd be shocked if they couldn't raise additional funds.Okay, let’s say it’s $4mil. Now how much of that do you think the big 3 are gobbling up? I would say >50%.

I'd probably read his entire post and see that's not what he was saying but that's just me.Pretty simple. I said it’s common sense that Purdue doesn’t have unlimited NIL and then he said it isn’t common sense. How else would you take that?

Keep telling yourself that. I supposed Trudeau's resignation had nothing to do with Trump either?Dude, I don't know what your call it. But saying tough words ain't going to move foreign governments or terrorist organizations. What about the tough words Chump said a few years ago that Mexico was going to pay for the wall? The US is till waiting on a $20 Billion check. Chump couldn't even get the republican controlled House and Senate to build a wall.
I'm sure he was a frequent target of swirlies and wedgies. He is hard to understand at times. Makes me think he was picked on in school
Amazingly, 145 House Dems vote against bill to deport ILLEGAL migrants who commit sexual assault & domestic abuse.
They still don't get it and are hard wired to their far extremist left positions......can you imagine finding the mental gymnastics it must take to say ...... "NO, we want illegal migrant sex abusers to stay in America." "Beat your wife? Sure, we are good with that too".
LOL. They are still NUTS!

A bill to deport illegal immigrants accused of sexual assault or domestic violence passed the House on Thursday.www.foxnews.com
Wow, you pulled the race card in like, 9 words. That's quick even for your standards.By you calling that "Winning", you sir are a racist. You and others that support that MAGA anti-DEI BS all want white men to control everything regardless of qualifications. You and other supporters of this crap should be ashamed.
That is one of the dumbest moves possible. This is why this MAGA cult is BS. Getting rid of Office of Chief Equity, Inclusion and Opportunity does not make America great. What makes America great is embracing diversity in the workplace and schools. Mike Braun is an idiot. Even though Holcomb was republican, he seemed to be a decent dude. Non-MAGA for the most part. He made quite a few trips up to the "Da Region" from time to time. I bet in four years, Braun won't make it up to my area once. Red states like FL and others have done the same but Holcomb never succumbed to that BS of getting rid of DEI programs in the state unless I missed something.
Having a chief DEI officer might be the most woke DEI move any company could ever make. Ironic isn't it.Mike Braun signs executive order eliminating DEI from the state government. Along with closing down the Office of Chief Equity, Inclusion and Opportunity.
Winning.
At the time, (losing to a 16 seed as a 1 seed and that being a disturbing trend of tourny failures for Painter), it seemed like a logical move. I'm super glad he wasn't and that we went to the FF last year. It’s not that you wanted Shaka, who is really good. It’s that you wanted Painter fired, which is one of the dumbest takes of all time (you weren’t alone).
3. Painter sees a player that is a helpful addition to a team just this close to making a run, like last season.I see 2 scenarios.
1. Painter sees a team weakness, such as rebounding, and he doesn't expect the current players and incoming recruits to provide enough improvement.
2. Key veterans graduate or enter the portal, leaving a gap in experience at one or more positions. This seems to be the main reason for Painter drawing from the portal/transfer market.
I never said it was unlimited. What I said is that you have no idea what it is. I heard it was north of $4M from my sources.Word on the street is Purdues NIL is $2.5 million. IU spent double that this year so yeah, I have an idea of how much it is. You thinking it’s unlimited is just ignorance.
Does any program have unlimited NIL money? I'm sure Purdue has a budget, but only a few people know what that budget is or how it compares with the rest of P5 schools. And none of those few people are posting here....You think Purdue has unlimited NIL dollars?
How did you remotely get that from what he typed? You think Purdue has unlimited NIL dollars?
You, sir, are full of crap. Racist this, racist that. I don't give a damn what color or sex a person is if they are the most qualified for the job, and continue to do it at that level after selection. In my many occupations over 50 years of employment I worked with and for both great and terrible people. Some of the least qualified were white. Most got to those positions because of a form of DEI called butt kissing and playing golf with the eight guys. I had male and female supervisors. Some were good. Some were bad. Good leaders are good leaders, and no amount of social engineering can change that. Much like the military or a sports team, good leaders produce more contented and productive employees. DEI only looks at race and sex without regard for ability and ambition. I don't care what sex or race you are. I want you to be productive and fulfilled in life. No amount of feel-good legislation can make that happen.By you calling that "Winning", you sir are a racist. You and others that support that MAGA anti-DEI BS all want white men to control everything regardless of qualifications. You and other supporters of this crap should be ashamed.

I think we will know more by the end of the conference season after we face that gauntlet.Furst is playing great. Really helping on D. Glad he had a nice offensive game too.
Raises the ceiling of the team. Because he is a fit for the needs..... experienced and helps on D and rebounding. But in contrast with OP, not sure that ceiling is FF though? E8.....maybe?
Sure there is a chance. Given the emergence of Cox, the stability of the 2nd best PG in the nation....the do everything, Smith and development of great D, anything is possible.
Could easily be a 5-6 seed and not favored in round 2.
The true test is definitely the end of the schedule. They've beaten the teams they should in this stretch but except for yesterday have looked extremely good doing it.This 6-game streak has been an awesome fun ride. The team is playing with energy and confidence. It's good to see guys like CJ Cox and Caleb First coming into their own. I'm still hopeful that we'll see more consistent production out of Colvin and Heidi.
All that said, I'm trying to stay grounded. Purdue still hasn't faced a team in the top half of the league. But that changes this weekend as Purdue gets into the heart of their B1G schedule. 9 of the next 10 opponents are currently at least .500 in B1G play. The only one below .500 is a dangerous Ohio State team. A lot can change, of course. Indiana appears to be at a crossroads. February/March road games are Iowa, Michigan, MSU, Indiana, and Illinois.
And now we are going to have more money and NIL is only going to be more dominant. He says it himself, he might have to change in the future. It's amazing to me but he's often more willing to change than his biggest fansI’m pretty sure Painter focuses what money he does have on retention of players and if you look at his history it seems to be working.
