That's why I said something is going on with him besides fatigue. These guards should not cause him problems. If they truly can cause him issues and nothing is wrong with him, then we can put any talk of him leaving to rest. Because these guards are not good and are nothing like he would face at the next level.
Don't forget -- as good as Smith is, he needs someone to throw the ball to. It might not be his fault.

On replays, look for his teammates and try to determine whether they are either (1) where they were supposed to be or (2) where Smith had the right to expect them to be because of the randomness in player positioning during a particular possession.

I was watching and I saw Cox initiate the offense maybe twice and one of those was when Braden was on the bench. We need do get the ball out of Braden’s hands more as he is being targeted. Let him run through some screens and get open 3’s or a drive to the hoop off of curls.
Cox initiated the offense at least 3 times with Braden on the court today

Bottom line is our guards struggled against mediocre guards today. You just can't tell me Leal and Galloway are better than ours. At least Fletch scored.

Smith has been struggling in all facets of the game lately. I'm not sure what's going on mentality but it isn't good.
Not better but at six five and six six and their small guy at Six three, make it hard for Smith at five eleven to get good looks. Time and time again he made a move started to get free and their size made em up the difference. He would hitch, pass up the shot and the play would get out of sync.

I would agree. I will add when they were recruited, that all their highlight films were filled with. We have a bunch of Gatorade 3 point champions. That’s nice but also part of the problem. We don’t have any floor burners. We don’t have and window cleaners. We don’t have any Kramers. Edey covered up a lot of our deficiencies last year. He could reach over people and catch Braden’s passes. Tkr doesn’t have that ability. We need our role players to play other positions than guard. We have two many guards and unfortunately our next 2 incoming recruits are also guards. We badly need some forwards who can score or at least one. Tkr is not a center.
We have 1 Gatorade 3 pt champ.

Question for board, sorry not basketball related

Wish I knew the area better for you; hope it turns out to be a great celebration to cherish with memories in the future.

Best of luck.
Yea, the wife, baby and I live about 45 minutes North of them, the wife wants to have it more their way, problem is there’s likely a lot more places our way, I’m hoping West Lafayette has some recommended spots.

I am up to here with fans that say stupid stuff like "refs didn't affect the outcome" or "refs aren't why we lost".

Not the refs when you get bounced like that. Braden was bad, Purdue's lack of size showed in their inability to get shots off and created turnovers. Refs impacted the game likely more for IU, but come on Purdue lost based on their effort, overall poor play, a good game by IU and bad decisions. Hard to swallow when you get bounced by your rival, but blaming the refs is ridiculous in this case,

even pullups if the rim is closed allows a means of attacking pressure. I would much rather miss a pull up and maybe rebound and play some D that passing horizontal all the time and having it get stolen and go for an easy basket at the other end. I would just rather the players get tied up than throw it away for an easy two
Yes, but attack the rim first and the pull-up once closed off. I want attack the rim basketball.

no doubt he is under a LOT of pressure. Giccari, CJ, Myles and Cam can all add penetration to their game to move the D. All are capable especially with certain defenders on them. Making the other team worry about others loosens the D
I agree 100%. I really want Myles and Cam to become more downhill players. Attack the lane when the opportunity is there.

Man, I wish I felt the same. I just don't see these guys playing attack the rim basketball. I see guys looking for pull-ups and 3's.

Mary Ashley Stevenson

Today is the second time I have watched Stanford this year, and man does Stevenson look mediocre to be nice. She went from our best player to 8th on a mediocre Stanford team (14-12, 10th in the ACC) averaging about 16 minutes and 4 points a game. She is getting that terrific diploma, so doubt she moves on again, but it REALLY exposes just how awful we are top to bottom.

No, we aren't doing it now. That's the point, we need to do that. Loyer, Smith, Cox even Heide has shown he can. They just need to do it more often and with a purpose. Give teams something else to have to guard. Do it and it will also free up TKR from so many double teams.
