Braden Smith (assists)

I was actually thinking the same thing. He would sometimes set someone up perfectly and the shot wouldn’t fall. (It is kind of obvious 🙄)
remind us all those missed bunnies at the rim by our 4s this year.. Could not finish two hand dunks, those were pretty insulting.. That would probably add 20 more assist to his total this year.

Look forward sure hands next year from everyone!

Portal priorities - a question

I’ll offer an opinion.

You talked about exposure but I think you underestimated how much success also plays into exposure. Purdue will be a marquee team next season and that success will lead to more exposure for players.
Let me take it a bit further Wole...It's taking these lesser players to be on a winning program to get noticed. Here's a question for you.

Is a kid at a 1A high school going to be noticed less, the same, or more than a kid at a 6A school, talent being equal? I know, because I witnessed with my sons and other players.

I await your answer.

One that fast breaks a lot more probably, that gets out and runs. One where plays are run for him. I'm not saying we didn't run enough plays for him here, simply that his role was basically come in, hit some shots, play a little defense, back to the bench.

There's no need to accuse him of not working hard enough or anything other than he saw that he wasn't going to maximize his potential here, and that's true, he probably wasn't ever going to be more than a 15-20 minutes a game max backup player here except maybe his senior year and no guarantees there.

If he wanted more she needed to leave.
My guess is that’s not happening anywhere better than Purdue. The elite teams all have athletes on the perimeter who can breakdown a defender and drive to score or create an open shot for someone else. It appears he can’t do that.

New York lawmaker!

Lawmaker wants to stomp Tesla out of New York. Another example of supporting Democrats is on the wrong side of most everything.

When you look at the lineage tree of democrats, there are no branches. When you look up stupid in a dictionary, there's always a jackass beside it.

Oh well, this will certainly give Trump a 3rd term.

Welcome to portal season

Losing all three (Colvin, Heidi and Harris) would be a huge hit to the roster…

This would not be that far out of possibility when you consider Smith, Loyer, Cox have the 1-2-3 positions locked down. Why would Heidi and Harris be happy off the bench another year?!

Bench points at the 1-2-3-4 positions would be close to zero if that happened…

Isn’t the new age of college basketball fun? Free agency pandemic killing college basketball…need to find another interest during Winter.

I like Fletcher Loyer , he is a really great shooter but is a defensive liability. Just look at the final 4 guards , where do you see a skinny , slow and unathletic guard . Last year we got there riding Zach Edey with good shooters to help and good defense because he covered up mistakes.
Fletch can draw a charge better than any player in college basketball.

I never saw this driving ability against pressure if he had it. Sure he was fun to watch on an open break-out, but he was just too 1-dimensional in the half-court... and even his shooting was streaky. His defense did get better, and I'm glad he developed more under Painter. I agree, Purdue has good shooters for next year, assuming no more transfers. Wish Colvin well, but this could be addition by subtraction if Painter uses the portal right for slashing guard or combo wing. Hopefully this also means Heide definitely has no intention of testing transfer portal... his loss would be harder to replace.
Now that we have Oscsr if we could get a 3 pt thread who can drive the lane, draw fouls and hit free throws that would rock!

I'll be ro

Interesting comment. I get that someone as outspoken as Rosey will defend his kid on X; however, I'm not seeing what he's seeing. Myles never showed the ability to be able to take anyone off the dribble. The athleticism was there. The ball handling ability was not. What system will work for him?

Loyer got the opportunity early in his career, Colvin did not. If you can’t see that Miles has more talent then take off your Fletch goggles
Colvin had opportunity in practice, and in games. Loyer deserved to start and play over Myles. I'm not going to beat the kid up, but I really saw no reason to play him in place of Loyer or even Furst. He had opportunities to score and rebound But didn't produce much in the way he played. Granted, his defense was better at the end, but he was needed to come off the bench and score. Had he done so, we might be in the final four.

I wish him and his family well.
