2025 Transfer portal thread

Who do you feel Purdue need to land in the transfer portal to give them a #1 transfer class? Or, is the remaining talent just not out there any longer for that to happen?
Don’t really care about being the #1 transfer class. More about who will fit with the team to make it better at a deep run to the NC next year. They could be 705th for all I care. But if that means they make the team get to the NC, then I’m good with that.

Top transfer classes don’t = most success.

Smith projected as a 2nd rounder in draft

If I'm an NBA GM, no way do I use a draft pick on Braden. I love him in Old Gold and Black, but I would not take a chance on him in the NBA. I don't think his 3-point shot is consistent enough, I don't think his mid-range game would translate, he doesn't have "blow by" quickness" to get to the rim, and, even if he did get to the rim, I don't think he could finish against the elite rim protectors in the NBA. Braden is a great college player, and Purdue is lucky to have him...but, I ain't buying any stock in his NBA future. Now, I hope he goes out prove me completely wrong.
You don’t think a guy who shoots just about 40% from 3 in his career is consistent enough? Or his midrange isn’t good? Did you watch him this year? What about a kid who was in the 98th percentile shooting out of the pick and roll with an NBA player as the screener when Braden was a sophomore?

I’ll give you the blow by speed…although he did it to bigger guys this year. But if he can improve that, a team or a few will def take a chance on him.

2025 Transfer Portal News/Recruiting

Most kids that don’t start don’t return, it’s that simple, nature of the beast these days. Chances are we’ll see UCONN and South Carolina in the final 4 again, that seems to be one constant in women’s hoops.

Playing time certainly plays a role with this. But you have to wonder - UCLA had a great recruiting class last year - tons of highly ranked kids committed to the Bruins. They didn't play a ton this year, obviously due to their upperclassmen studs. But how do you build your program through high school recruiting when kids want to come in and play instantly instead of waiting their turns like those had to do in the past? You simply can't. OR highly ranked kids need to look at depth charts and go someplace else where they can see immediate PT. Because that is what they clearly want. This is where a school like Purdue comes into play. If we can tap into this - and get these elite HS recruits to commit to us and give them PT - which CKG has been committed to doing the past 2-3 years - but our kids we are getting have been top 80-100 kids. Not top 30 kids. That's the difference.

I think it will need to be something local.... Cookie not cookies... its a feeling .... 3 cookie action is too rich. Collins coached player in a Painter system.... hmmmmmm not bought in on that.
I look at the player and what he's shown on the floor. Dont' care about his system. A hard worker fits in any system. A fiery competitor that's known mostly losing and is arguably "tougher" than anyone we have now. Sign me up. Yeh give me a creator too, but this is a true boiler of a guy that defends, rebounds and plays tough. In some ways he's another Mason type guy. We don't have a surplus of that.

Train Wreck. Clown Show.

Logic-defying is particularly funny, katBeamer, since it was your "logical progression" of BMW moving its SC plant to Canada that earned you the crown.

That statement was truly a feat of unprecedented stupidity on this forum. Don't be modest about it. You slayed the GOAT.
Sigh.
You go on being you. And you always hold true to this form; I assume in your not-anonymous life too.

The protests have begun.

So we had what was called "training" although I think you train dogs and educate people on the very subject at least once a year with some parts carried over into other training. The consulate was an area of contact. I wish I could remember all but when Delphi was split and I was pulled over into GM...unlike Delphi my travel was limited to the states and so I used "local" people to do what I needed done in China and elsewhere. I can say though that it is at least in the public a concern for GM
Remember the suicide nets to stop workers from jumping to their deaths at Apple's big contractor, Foxconn?

It’s safe to say that for the ultimate in passive-aggressive, nonsensical, sycophantic, logic-defying, dysfunctional and dystopian message posting, no one is in your league.
