You make a case for the wealthy Euro countries to defend Ukraine, a non-Nato country, if they think it is in their best interests. You've posted that three times now.......and apparently you still haven't read the entire article.
Putin is old school KGB and USSR. He wants to reclaim the glory of mother Russia. He has tried to violently get the band back together since he took over.
The other reason Putin wants Ukraine back..........he's not crazy about a prosperous democracy with ties to the west on his border whether they are in NATO or not. Lots of family and social ties between the two countries. People in Russia might get exposed to freedom and free speech and economic opportunity. He's worried about change from the inside, something the war is making more possible. He wants his people scared and obedient and a thriving Ukraine is a threat to him. It's a not a bad life according to Skydog but definitely not for everybody.
Since when does our foreign policy come from Moscow? Reagan is rolling over in his grave.
Or are you worried in your lib-dem delusional state that Russia plans to take Europe first, then move on to America?
To your credit, at least you list some reasons. 95 has been reduced to sputtering about Hitler.
We shouldn't be telling Ukraine anything other than we do not support their entry into NATO and that we do support the efforts to repel an invasion and will provide all the weapons their wealthy Euro neighbors are willing to buy them, if they think Ukraine is worth defending.Again, since when does Moscow dictate our foreign policy? Who are we to tell Ukraine they shouldn't fight for their freedom against a tyrannical murderer?
